Dark Heresy- Warhammer 40k interest check

Recruitment

Humble Bundle had a huge 40k rpg sale today, and as a huge fan of the setting (and beginning collector/painter) I decided I had to pick it up.

I've had a story idea set in the 40k universe rolling around in my head for a while now, and as it turns out it adapts fairly well to the idea of playing an inqusitorial retinue Dark Heresy presents.

Once I have the basic premise planned and finish my reading of the ruleset, how many of you would be interested in playing a Dark Heresy campaign?

Yes!

' nuff said, I think.

Dark Heresy rocks. I would be interested.

Good lord, I would. I've got an old tech-priest from a previous game kicking around that I'd love to play again.

I certainly would be interested in just that.

I would definitely be up for playing. I have been working myself on putting together a dark heresy 2e game since another person posted an interest check thread a couple months ago.

Would that be 1e Dark Heresy or 2e?

I believe second edition, although I am still reading and learning. Second edition is the "fixed" one, no?

In the sense that they'd taken a lot of feedback from its older version as well as subsequent games like Rogue Trader, Deathwatch, Only War, etc. 2e's the one I have actual books for, which is why I asked.

What Ordo were you thinking of us working for?

Most likely hereticus, as that’s the easiest to work with in a setting. Still figuring details out, though.

Probably my favourite one anyway, Heretics are more fun to hunt than Xeno, and less hazardous than Daemons.

I mean, given the labyrinthine nature of the Inquisition's bureaucracy, like any good Imperium bureaucracy, the group's investigations may end up brushing up against the mandates of the other Ordos anyway. After all, the worst heretics are the ones that work with Daemons and Xenos! :P

I've never played a proper game of Dark Heresy or its sister games, BUT I'm a casual fan of 40k through the Dawn of War RTS and the classic parody If The Emperor Had a Text-To-Speech Device. And I've had an itch to play something along the lines of a "Battle Astropath." Obviously a Force Sword would be out of the question for a lowly initiate starting out, but it's a piece of equipment he'd probably gun for the moment it became available...

Funny, I had a similar idea.
Back when I played first edition Dark Heresy, the character I enjoyed the most was Calix templar, a form of Psyker given extensive martial training.
He made it all the way to ascension and even became an interrogator.
Unfortunately the group ended before he could get promoted to full inquisitor.

Potentially interested.
