All it takes are some substantiated tweets combined with the firing of an integral member of staff alongside an absolute joke of a response, you're right. Like what are people even mad about for?
The transphobia. In my case, it's the transphobia. I spent a large amount of my 20s going to bat for Paizo in one way or another. I'm a 4 star GM from Organized Play long long ago, and I own a huge amount of their content. All of that is poisoned now, if what Crystal said is true.
I disagree that they're really that substantiated - the only thing that's really been substantiated is the editing issues and the dust vents.
That said, I still want to see it addressed, regardless of the level of substantiation.

Whenever people rush to the boards to try and pressure Paizo into action over something, I cannot help be reminded of the lesson Paizo devs told me again and again during PF2s playtest. I'll paraphrase that here:
The message board community represents only a small percentage of Paizo's overall demographic. Moreover, the message board community almost invariably does not represent the feelings of the larger pathfinder/starfinder base.
This was said repeatedly when people on these boards were nearly unanimous in disagreeing with the devs over rules mechanics and direction. Essentially their response was "you aren't important".
I've seen nothing in the months and years since then to dissuade me from that as Paizo's official stance, regardless of my likes and/or personal interactions with individual Paizo staff.
Basically, temper your expectations. In the long run the likeliest outcome is that nothing will happen.

Good morning. I woke up to feedback on my post. Thank you for it.
I did not mean to imply that we weren’t listening to people who unsubscribed. I apologize that it sounded that way. We are listening to to the whole community, and will continue do so, patron or not.
Thank you for this reassurance.

Thank you for clarifying, Aaron. Do you have any idea when we might see a post-GenCon update/statement?

I don't know. Given the political leanings of the staff and their commitment to left leaning social justice values, if even a fraction of what was alleged were true, there should have been legal actions taken by at least one person.
There was nothing. Nothing but a social media smear campaign. Seriously having a fit because a piece of art had an "iron cross" in it is not a serious accusation. The vacuum accusation made me LOL.
The whole thing read like a temper tantrum fueled hit piece. With the worst allegations against Jason and his predatory advances. But no one said anything to HR, or any management? Not one? That is highly suspect.
And the person making all the fuss has been canned for toxic behavior before. This is just more of it.
I support Paizo here.

I contacted my VO yesterday to have myself removed from the list of Venture-Agents for the company's Society games. The nothing statement from Paizo on the matter just affirms that it was the right decision to make. Not mad about the 360 hours or so of volunteering, met a lot of great friends and played a lot of fun games, but when the company's management is as broken as it clearly is, I no longer feel that acting as a representative of said company, even in a volunteer fashion, is going to be acceptable until some serious house cleaning gets done. You can do better, Paizo, please do.

For the love of everything holy Paizo, stop posting and hire some professional crisis people. Today.
1) Doesn't matter if you think you did something wrong or not.
2) Doesn't matter if someone higher-up is involved or who did what.
3) Doesn't matter if the person who kicked off the s$#%-show isn't being truthful or not. The s%*%-show has started.
4) The villagers are at the gates with pitchforks, *that's* what matters.
5) Hire a 3rd party who can fix this for you and let the chips fall as they may.

I have no additional timeframe or details. Personally, I’ll be moderating Twitch for the next four days.

Strike out #5 and I'll jump on the wagon.
PR spin is never a good thing.
IMHO, Paizo might be better off taking a lesser hands on approach with respect to the forums just like other companies. You can't keep everyone happy, and the current state of the world punishes those that try.
Any early departures from employment are unfortunate regardless of circumstances.

Man weird how the boards are on fire, it's like the two people who did the most to put out those fires and make sure everyone stayed civil are gone. What a bizarre coincidence.
I haven't put in my two cents on the topic as a whole yet (the last couple days have been rough for me and this situation is just one more thing to process) but I have absolutely noticed that the forums have been a less pleasant place to be for me since they left.
At no fault to the current CS team, of course, I know they're doing what they can.

I took 3rd party as an outside investigation. If the investigation finds nothing wrong then I doubt the pitch forks will go back in the sheds.

We agree there. So I was stating how immensely dissatisfied I am with the fact that all responses thus far have completely ignored allegations about transphobic policies in the company.
You are correct that this private company owes no one anything, and all of the previously loyal customers currently "attacking" Paizo's management about this also do not owe this private company any support or money, especially if it turns out that we were duped about what kind of people run the company.

I don't know that anyone had to be intimidated. They could just be messages of genuine support for a colleague. Bad people aren't bad people to all others or all the time. I don't want to minimize that some people have found support in Paizo and its leadership.
The trick is understanding that doesn't mean nothing happened to anyone, especially considering some of the other stuff from Crystal and things up-thread about doxxing.

Wow this is gonna be a lot of hard and tiresome work. I predict a lot of pitchforks in the twitch chat in the coming days. I certaily don't envy you.

Unbelievable. A lady who hasn't worked for Paizo for years takes advantage of an unfair dismissal (which unfortunately occurs in many private companies) and starts a series of posts accusing people like Erik Mona, Tonya, Jeff and Jason without any kind of proof. In the end this lady will be responsible for destroying a company that in my humble opinion has always been helping to defend the causes of minorities. Something that in the toxic environment of TTRPG is of extreme importance. If what this lady is saying is true, as a Latin Americam (Brazilian) I consider myself an idiot to have narrated Age of Worms, Kingmaker, Age of Ashes, Abomination Vaults and 14 PFS scenarios. All products of a company where the President is a Homophobe, the Publisher is a Nazi, and the Director of Game Design is a stalker of women.

I will be waiting until the dust settles before making a judgement. I've seen too many times of allegations being put forth and people utterly going after the accused like a pack of rapid dogs and it turns out that the allegations were no where near as bad or untrue. If there is truth to some allegations I hope the company can do better and I also do believe that they can make it happen.
