Our best bet for witch changes is probably the spring round of errata.

if a errata was going to fix witch it would come out by now

any effort to give witch some new feature to bring witch up to oracle or psychic level would be so drastic it might as well be a new prepare choose spell list spellcasting class

Seeing how they "only" fixed the biggest issues of the Alchemist in an early round of CRB errata and only recently added additional changes, I'm hoping the first APG errata was the absolute "need to be done" stuff and any further erratas might have room for some actual changes (as opposed to fixes).

alchemist only get low level perpetual item still feels like a problem

replace all medicine check with crafting is a good direction

If the next errata has to cover just one book, I think it will be Secrets of Magic.

I also hope for some Witch buffs, though.

With treasure vault adding an item to help investigators, they're at least willing to fix the APG classes even in a roundabout way. Out of them, witch is likely the worst one. Paizo probably knows people are unhappy at least. I'd give it a >50% chance something is done at some point. Difficult to know exactly what they'll do. I definitely did not expect coffee for the investigator lol.

a potion feat line would be obvious

there are already a few but far too weak

potion also didn't get anywhere near as much new item as alchemy since core rulebook

effigy would be another

thaumaturge already have cursed effigy that give untype debuff against thaumaturge ability

witch may get one that give debuff against hex

but this level of new feat would not be enough

i just use witches+ and call it a day, I don't think paizo will fix them any time soon, if ever, so I've settled on my homebrew of choice that I am happy with

I've been playing an awful witch build for a while (Gnoll grappler Witch, taking the hair feats). We are doing the free archetype variant, of which I took wrestler to double down on my bad decision (I get knocked out pretty much every fight).

Its been fun, and I don't think Witch is bad, but it could really use a boost.

Access to light armor would actually be huge imo, and put it on par defense-wise with the other 3 spell casters (bard and druid both get light armor).

It would be nice if some of the focus cantrips got buffed a little, my DM let me go mosquito witch and buzzing bites is super useful, but its easily one of, if not THE, best focus cantrip for witch.

Letting the class lean a little heavier into sustaining would help too, a low level class feature to sustain multiple spells with a single action would really push witch into a good spot. Maybe 2 spells per sustain at first level, and it upgrades to 3 at a higher level.

Also it would be great if some of the melee witch feats got buffed a little. They're really cool and thematic but needing to invest in strength to get anything out of them, while having no access to armor, makes it a tough build. Letting you use int for attack rolls or athletic checks doesn't feel too out of line (they still have bad weapon proficiency), and it takes 3 feats to make the hair build feel good, and the nails are way too risky with all the requirements.
