What’s the intended use of the Warrior Android heritage?

Proficiency in simple and martial weapons is something most martials get by default, so it feels strange that the “warrior” option is useless on most classes that fit the bill. Am I missing something obvious here?

It' not useless for my Summoner and Rogue character concepts.

It mostly makes it easier for rogues and spellcasters to qualify for other feats.

Compare it to other heritages.
You'll find out it's not that bad even if it works for just a few levels or gives some sort of general feat.

Yeah mostly to qualify to other feats, like letting a Wizard pick the Marshal dedication at lvl 2 if they wish.

It's a pretty weird heritage, since the proficiency doesn't scale up at higher levels. The best use of it then is to use it to qualify for prerequisites that require you to be proficient in all martial weapons (like the marshal archetype).

Yeah, it is a bit strange that the heritage is best for non-martial classes.

But it isn't bad though. For Divine spellcasting classes, crossbow makes a decent cantrip. Shortbow is a better one.

Or use Hand of the Apprentice with a Great Axe :D
