Site was broken for me today, what's up?

Hi,

Paizo.com was unavailable for me in the afternoon. Then when it reappeared, I was logged off and when I tried to log on, I got "nothing", not an error, just I was still logged off. I only solved the problem by clearing cookies - first with a different browser then a Firefox alternate tab.

So, I run an active play-by-post. I'd like know to how many, if any, of my players are going to be suffering from this problem.

And just generally, it would be good to know what's up with this.

Thanks and thank you for hosting the play by post infrastructural.

I've had the same problem. I haven't deleted cookies, because I want to know what's going on first. Far as I'm concerned the site is still broken.

I tried to edit my previous post. "You backtracked too far". If the limit is 30, as that message tells me, then no, I did not "backtrack too far".

My reason for the edit was to add that I'm doing this in a private window on Safari.

Fix your website, Paizo. :-(

A storm knocked out the login servers, most Paizo employees didn’t have power for most of the day.

I see. Okay. Cache, cookies, etc. deleted and I'm logged back in. Until, I guess, it happens again.

Weird -- had just 1 Paizo cookie to delete, but deleting it seemed to fix it for me.


I had to reset my password as well as deleting cookies

You can also just delete the Paizo cookies, if you don't want to lose your logged-in status on other sites.

It took a whole extra day before my resetting my password was recognized (allowing me to log in to create a new permanent password).

During the whole of yesterday the instructions were up (that say "clear your cookies") but that wasn't enough. Until the software recognizes your password reset, you still can't get in.

(Hopefully I'm the last customer experiencing the delay, but if I'm not I thought this would be helpful)

To the OP, thanks for creating this thread! It helped to explain why I couldn't sign in.

I managed to sign in earlier today. :)
