How does a Deity get's back at a Character?

Advice

So Besmara in my game had an favorite animal messenger. A Dire Crocodile named Croaky.
One of the players did hold monster on it and literally cooked him alive. The character is Chaotic Evil, so it's kinda fits in his profile.
But still, Besmara should get back at him. (Without killing the character outright.)

He's a wizard lvl 12.
Do you have any idea's for a creative way for Besmara to get revenge?

Dark Archive

Rain of frogs for starters.
Every moment of any water travel, the tides themselves seem to thrash and fight the vessel, seemingly reaching toward the wizard. Always difficult travels

Are you asking how a pirate... with unlimited, divine power... would take revenge? Umm... there's whole chunks of media devoted to this topic.

Pirates are known to plunder; have Besmara take something from the wizard... like all of his spellbooks. It was a crocodile so... have swarms of crocs follow the caster around wherever they go. Remove an eye or a limb, replacing it with a peg or a hook or something appropriately mundane. Curse the wizard with a permanent combination of the spells Aristocrat's Nightmare and Feast of Ashes: every precious metal the PC touches turns to copper; every gem turns to wood; food and drink turn to ash in their mouth and their hunger and thirst can never be sated.

Besmara doesn't have to outright kill the PC in order for her to inflict a death sentence. What if NOTHING happened to the PC... but every pirate in a 7 sea radius from him had terrible luck, all the while being told by Besmara's agents that their curses were because of the croc-killer? Perhaps a wanted poster?

Whatever you do, perhaps Besmara gives a chance for the character to make amends. Maybe this PC needs to use magic to craft a superior croc to Croaky. A construct croc of colossal size, capable of amazing speed that can travel all the waters of the earth. Except it needs a pilot inside of it, kind of like a submarine. And this PC is the perfect candidate to spend the first 100 years at the helm...

use better animal messengers. Give it another personality and character that would provoke most adventurers to cook it. Make the CR a few steps above their normal encounter. If it's attacked, it's on and don't hold back. Oh yea, and definitely disguise it.

https://2e.aonprd.com/Deities.aspx?ID=32 Besmara's intercessions from 2E will suit you perfectly. Just change numbers accordingly.

The Wizard gets afflicted with the Black Spot which takes the form of a black circle with a skull in crossbones of pallid flesh within the black circle.

The caster level of the Black Spot is 30. If it is removed through conventional magic the Black Spot reappears at midnight.

To permanently remove the Black Spot the Wizard will need to either receive protection from another deity (devil, demon or other outsider that can grant spells), or get an Atonement from Besmara.

Getting protection from another divine source will be the equivalent of earning a boon and using the boon.

The Atonement from Besmara will involve having to steal from a powerful creature, and dumping the wizard's share into the sea. If it isn't enough, he'll be told he needs to sacrifice more.

Thank you all!! These are very interesting ideas.
