You don't need a boon anymore to play a dwarf, but if you use it to get +2 to a stat, remember that it is considered a permanent Personal boon.

You should also keep an eye/ear out for "checkbook style" boons, which have been released occasionally, as they are filled in by playing and/or running games and unlock a race option when filled. If another of those comes up, it is handy to know early on, as some have been time-limited (play x number of scenarios over the course of a year, or the like).

It is worth noting that there seems to be NO restriction on Androids with the xenometric android alternate racial, so you can make like, an android Nuar and gain SOME of their racial abilities. Check the CHaracter operations manual for more.
Yeah I'm rather surprised at that, but remember that this was just the base sanctioning, there's a batch of clarifications still in the pipeline somewhere that's taking longer to put online.
