Best of luck, Mort. Hopefully your in-laws will help you out by helping get the groceries and other chores.

Do you have access to a sunny-ish window or a patio/deck (or a yard) where you live? If so, you might try growing some herbs and even some leafy vegetables, like lettuces, arugula, etc. If you can get the seeds, many herbs will grow like crazy in small windowsill containers inside. Leafy greens will take longer of course, but once they get growing you can often harvest a third or so leaves/greens at a time from each plant and the plant will continue to grow and put on more leaves.

I've also had really good luck saving->sprouting->growing the seeds from store & farmers' market tomatoes and peppers, for example, and both do well in 4-5 gallon containers/buckets. (Even though you're growing the same plants. Carrots and potatoes grown from cuttings are also supposed to do quite well in containers. They all do take many weeks until harvest, but it is a hobby that will act to help keep you mentally occupied/distracted. Or maybe one of your in-laws might like to tend the plants? And if you start them in some decent soil, you can keep amending the soil with leftover tea & coffee grounds. Leftover eggshells soaked overnight in water (or leftover tea/coffee) also makes a gentle "tea" high in calcium and other nutrients that many growing plants will love.

Even if you grow veggies or herbs you're not keen on eating, you can likely find a neighbor you can barter them towards some other foods, goods, or service you might need.

I don't have green fingers and also our climate would make growing tomatoes impossible. Spring onions maybe but peppers, lettuce, argula...etc...nadda. Anyway after I got the fridge decently stocked(can't stock any further - as my in laws have it full of junk food..?!), I feel better about things as if the queue to the supermarket is too long, I can always go back another day.

Its the lack of control, or people expecting you to do things when you're already busy that gets on my nerves.

Surprisingly my life hasn't really changed all that much on a personal level. Like still going to work but I work one less day and have less work to do because of fewer people. Although their is quite a lot more cleaning and precautions. Going to the supermarket really sucks now. So many old people apparently just waiting outside to go in and buy whatever they can.
Moved my weekly game to roll 20. can't have my usual date night with S.O. but it's fine really. That is about all that has changed so far. I know some people lives have drastically changed. I really think by the time this is over the world will have changed significantly in some way. At least for us in the states and other places hit hard that weren't prepared.

I'm sure it's just a matter of time before I get layed off really but for now that's about it. Being overnight you really just don't see that many people.

I actually just started back to work yesterday.

Nice. different job I assume?

Nope, same job, we're off for the winter unless it snows, which it hasn't done in a month and a half (f%+& yes, spring! F&&~ yes).

Yeah spring got here early it felt like.

I feel rather mopey with gyms and climbing gyms all closed and fitness classes cancelled. They just cordoned off the fitness station, which means I'm stuck to doing jump squats, push ups, reverse crunches and doing inverted rows at the motorbike parking lot in the carpark. I'm afraid I'll start getting fat since its a challenge to even clock 10k steps when working from home =(

And without rock climbing i literally have nothing for flexibility since I'm not very much of a yoga cat. Rock climbing was my strength and flexibility training in one.

It's my enthusiasm for being outside.

I love snow (I get paid too much shoveling snow for me not to love snow) but I'm definitely a summer person.

And my three Green Lantern t-shirts.

Also, my wife was an actual milkmaid growing up (and she even played one at the William Tell festival).

Damn you captain yesterday you have more green lantern shirts than I do!

What about kettle bells, or Indian clubs, or similar?

My house I'm sharing with my in laws are too cluttered for weights. Sure, i could fill buckets with water, or random things around the house but my hubbie wasn't pleased I was lifting boxes 2 at a time (weight around 20 ish kg) to move them to other parts of the office. He said safety issues. Hey, I have a consistent front squat weight of 25kg,so what is the problem?

That being said, do you think he's going to allow me to use household things as weights? Unfortunately him weighing 72 kg is too heavy for me to use as a weight =(

I approve of your plan to one day lift unruly husbands.

Anyone's unruly husband, or should she stick to her own?

My wife has been working towards dead-lifting my body weight.

I can't decide if this is going to be a real time-saver or something that should concern me...

I wouldn't be too concerned unless she starts muttering about trying a "Fastball Special."

I'm only up to 65 kg when it comes to deadlifts. Again, I'm about 52kg ish lol.

I think it shouldn't concern you. Good thing I lift weights else those buckets and wet blankets would be too heavy for me to handle. Yep I'm pretty strong for being a smoll kitty.

I'm not actually concerned--I think it's pretty awesome. She's the athlete in the household (double Ironman, rode around Lake Tahoe, swam around Key West). Me, I'm content to carry her gear and work out occasionally, but not to excess. Just enough to stave off total collapse.

They are all fair game.

They're slapping fines on anyone out there who isn't keeping 1m away from the next person from their household(yes there are safe distancing ambassadors), masks are required to enter any grocery store.

And the worse thing is its congested here so i don't know how easy it is to stay 1 m from others on grocery shopping. I am trying to control it so that I don't have to grocery shop everyday, unfortunately the fridge is full of junk food like biscuits, chocolates, sweets, breadcrumbs and chicken nuggets ><

same here.

Only update for me is the Roll 20 is going well. We only sold 5 rooms tonight, but we are supposedly gonna have some doctors and nurses staying with us for a month soon. Which has it's positive and negative of course.

Oh and STS:
Ironclad: 13
Silent: 13
Defect beaten!
Watcher: 12
And getting a lot done on my minecraft world as well.

The Exchange

Oh yeah, they're definitely catching and fining people here. Once they start imposing that masks must be worn out of the house, I will be unable to run (psst, I tried running with a mask on, no go.)

I am doing both groceries and cooking since its easier to control supplies that way. I told my in laws to find a way to clear the fridge - I'm worried that they'll soon implement that each family is only allowed to leave the house to grocery shop once per week. And I cannot stock the fridge if its full of junk.

Sometimes on grocery shopping I can't find what I want, I just live without.

We have also been all issued with a reusable mask, unfortunately mine is with my mom's place(since they are issued by residential address), and I can't collect it due to the circuit breaker.

At the end of the day I'm a pragmatic sort - I will do what I must for my people. Even if I end up stepping on toes. This is NOT the time to go whine and b+%$$ about why you can't get your favourite foods outside, and I will give anyone who does that a tight slap.

same here.

The snacks in the fridge or being congested, or grocery shopping?

My work got us a mask. Also their is a curfew in place because the county I live in is just the worst and won't listen to instructions. It's kind of weird to drive to work without anyone else on the road at all.

Just beat Ascension level 17 with Silent. Wasn't easy.

I can't imagine it was. what sort of deck did you use?

Adrenaline+

After Image
Caltrops
Crippling Cloud+
Footwork+
Noxious Fumes+ x2
Deadly Poison+
Poisoned Stab+
Defend+ x3
Neutralize+
Survivor+
Doubt (curse)
Ascender's Bane (curse)

Relics were:
Ring of the Snake (starting relic)
Mercury Hourglass (deal 3 damage to all enemies at the start of your turn)
Ink Bottle (every time play 10 cards, draw 1 card)
Membership Card (50% everything in the shop)
Sacred Bark (double effectiveness of potions)
War Paint (upgrade 2 random skills)
Empty Cage (remove 2 cards from deck)
Red Mask (apply 1 Weak to all enemies at start of combat)
Oddly Smooth Stone (+1 Dexterity)

Final boss was the time snail. I went in at full health, used a Dexterity potion (which gave 4 Dex instead of 2 because of the Sacred Bark), after taking about 1/2 damage I used a Regen potion (which gave 10 instead of 5 because of the Sacred Bark), and still only had about 15 hp left when I won.

Very minimalist. You didn't even really have that many relics. Which is probably why it worked. I bet ink bottle did some real work. Mostly it looks like you went for a defend to win. All that dex. The potion probably won it for you. regen 10 is nice.

I wasn't really trying for anything, just kept hoping to find something decent and lucked into wins. I didn't even realize I was doing so well until I noticed I was on floor 46. I was able to hit a lot of ? spaces, and most of them weren't fights.

Yeah I think the potion build was terrible before but getting all the potion items now would be pretty phenomenal.

Tornadoes and flooding in my area. Did the aztec calendar mention anything about 2020 being the end of the world or something?

I also reported the first person breaking lockdown measures today. There's this old codger who sits by the station selling tissue paper. Today he was coughing into a plastic bag(he was making me nervous), so I gave him a wide berth, then was about to take a photo and report when I saw two patrolling officers so I pointed them his way. They were settling stuff then I walked off.

Just beat Ascension 18 with Silent. Surprisingly easy considering the final boss was Deca and Donu.

It's only them old folks who I see breaking curfew and quarantine around these parts.

Parasite (curse)
Ascender's Bane (curse)

Sacred Bark (double effectiveness of potions)
Ninja Scroll (3 shivs at start of battle)
Courier (20% discount, restock)
Cursed Key (+1 energy, get curse if open chest)
Red Mask (1 weakness all enemies)

A lot of similarities to your one yesterday. Their must be some trick your using here that's making it work so well.

Oh I did beat 12 on watcher nothing to special just a lot of draw and deva form. I think the most sure fire way I have to win with her is go into goddess form as much as possible.

Vidmaster7 wrote:

Just luck. Like in both runs I got the ? space where you could upgrade all Strikes and Defends.

Vidmaster7 wrote:

I may have to try deva. I usually go for Pressure Points and block. If you can get several Like Waters and go Calm you get lots of block.

Yeah I like the calm builds. I've done some experimenting with builds that swap back and forth a lot. I've had some success Scrying is the only watcher theme I've not really messed around with. I think the most effective I've gotten is going for as much mantra as I can. The other one I liked was getting one of the free artifact options relic or card and playing the 3 dex 3 str one. That one is also good with deva form since it's draw back doesn't matter at that point.
