Pathfinder 2 Character Sheet - request

The official character sheet can be seen in the current blog, and unless I am mistaken a local publisher also promoted their crowdfunding fora localized version with a preview of that sheet.

Regarding that sheet I have a couple of requests:

- Can we please get a version that takes less ink/toner to print? The one from the blog seems almost wasteful, but a lot of us are going to have to print a lot of them for our events to help players create their characters.

- Could we please get access to a pdf of the normal version (and printer friendly if at all possible) as soon as possible, ideally today but in all honesty a week before the launch would still help a lot.
Quite a number of those that are involved in Organized Play are going to want to offer PFS2 as soon as possible, and some of us do not have unrestricted access to a printer.
Allowing us to print the sheets a significant time before the event would help a lot.

I guess the same is true for all those players wanting to quickly create their characters and play them at Gencon.

Thank you for taking the time to consider these suggestions.

Thank you, particularly for taking the time to include a link ^^

Part of me hopes that we get it early enough for some of the really talented folks in our community to create their own sheets, and give players options.

Is the same true of the Character Sheet Pack, that will have class-specific pages?

I second this idea. Although I personally don't have a need to have the character sheets early, I can appreciate the desire for those attending GenCon. Being able to have them printed out before hand allows the players a chance to immediate dive into character creation once they pickup their CRB.

From what I saw in the blog, there is nothing on the sheet that would spoil the release. Everything on there has already been covered in Live Plays (like Oblivion Oath, the GCP preview live plays from PaizoCon), Blog posts, Con Sessions, or Delves.

I'm probably going to work to rebuild a version of the landscape sheet from the playtest.
I know the sheet redesign was likely to make it appear more like 3.5/1E, but I liked that it was different. I don't want 2E to feel too much like 1E. I also love landscape sheets enough my group makes fun of me for it.

I really liked landscape too. It made it tougher to use with a clipboard with important numbers like hp, ac, saves etc under the clip, but it made the other lines feel like there was more space

Wouldn't count myself as part of the "really talented folks," but for online players I'll be working on updating my Playtest google sheet for characters once I've had a chance to go through the final official published rules. Can't guarantee any speed, but I hope to have it in a presentable state at least within a month after release.

Yaaaaas. Your sheets are so good bud. Most (possibly all) of my players use it by now.

What!? If you can't guarantee I can write my speed on your sheet, sorry but that's not a good sheet!! PLease, at least consider delaying it a bit to have time to add that speed section in the sheet... >_>

Spoiler:
joke ;P

Your sheets are the only ones I will use for 1E PF. These are looking fantastic.

99% of your sheet is astoundingly excellent.

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it, but I, and every player I have asked about it so far, find the white header text on a light background impossible to read, and my dyslexic partner glosses over the headers and does not see them. I suggest a bigger contrast for the headers.

Interesting. Would you be willing to work together on comparing a number of prototypes etc to address this?

For those seeking an alternative to simple sheets, the powerful TOS 2nd tool is under construction (and has been since last year!)

Same as the TOS+ or TOS FIVE Character Managers, TOS 2nd will help players manage their Pathfinder second edition characters by doing as much of the Math as possible! Creating a Character in TOS 2nd will require much less 'writing down' stuff, as anything you select will have the description automatically added.

This means you will be able to focus more on playing the game, and waste less time on writing down your character's abilities and adding its numbers!

With any luck, TOS 2nd will be ready in August 2019 and should be available directly on the Paizo store!

Really nice! Have you considered using the Dyslexie font? It introduces asymmetries in characters to address many forms of dyslexia. (TEDx talk by the font's creator.)

I've looked into it. However, the scientific research on Dyslexie and similar fonts is really shaky and inconclusive. Most studies show no increase in reading speed, even when the readers stated they preferred the alternative font.

The most important thing you can do to make life easier for a dyslexic reader is simply to reduce the amount of reading. That's one reason I prefer not to just copy and paste whole paragraphs of text from the book; instead I convert rules into fields and calculations with short labels, or at most a short line of explanation. This is called "chunking" the text.

I may yet offer the option of using the Dyslexie font, if I'm convinced that it would provide a real benefit to users.

Another factor is language support. My character sheets need to work in French, German, Polish and Russian, which limits me to those fonts which support a broad set of languages. I may have to limit which languages Dyslexie can be used for.

I just downloaded the official sheet, to become sufficiently familiar with it, to audit if players end up using it, but I am very much waiting for yours.

So, the official sheet is out. But there was mention of custom sheets created by the community and I want to throw in a design that I stole from the first edition character sheet; particularly because I'm proud of how much space it saves.

This is a link to the pdf on Google Drive. Let me know if you cannot open it. It's missing a few things, like spell DC and focus points (I've no clue where to put those yet). And I changed one of the sections for the listed gear to "Armor" so that players can list out all the traits their armor provides. I'm going to be using something like this for online games and I plan to make this a fill-able form later on. Any suggestions on improvements?

You might want to repeat that post in this thread if you haven't already done so.

I don't know if it's appropriate, given that the thread is about the official sheet. Maybe it'd feel like walking into Burger King telling folks about a new recipe for hotdogs I invented (I'm among the minority in my area who still likes that restaurant, by the way).

Classy! I like it a lot. And best of all, it has room to breathe.

A lot of people are creating character sheets of different styles. As long as you aren't charging for them, it is legal as far as I know. I love your sheet, and would love to see it in a form-fillable version. It is much closer to the 1E sheets, and I think I'll need one like this to not have my group of players go running for the hills at 1 look of the official 2E character sheet!
