Cursed Healer? Self-inflicted damage when healing?

Homebrew and House Rules

I have a PC who gave the idea of "taking damage from healing". Essentially her character would take part of the damage that another character took, which would then be added to her image after she performed any healing of any sort.

I.e. if she heals a Barbarian who took a sword wound to the chest, she would heal the damage but take partial damage and form a scar/wound wherever the wound was on the barbarian. It would mostly be used for RP reasons but I want to make sure I have a good rule set for combat with it.

If there is any pre-existing conditions that has information on this, that would be awesome to know. I might need to create an archetype or specific curse that outlines it better if not. Any ideas or help creating this would be awesome!

Sovereign Court

The easiest would be a Life Oracle/Shaman with Life Link. Its a bit more passive, transferring 5 hp/round/target but is close.
Kinetic Healer for Kineticist is closer to what you are looking for, when the Kineticist takes the burn.
Shield Other of course, though it would need to be active already.
Blood of the Martyr spell would also work, though is a bit gross.
The 8th level ability of the Martyr domain works a couple times per day.
Divine Transfer from paladin, though note the amount of hp transferred is up to Con score not modifier. Paladin's Sacrifice would also work, but reactively transferring damage, not healing.
As far as scarring works, the Scarify spell is "better" than Cure Light Wounds, but is basically just changing damage from lethal to non-lethal. Then when you heal with a different effect, you heal both non-lethal and lethal at the same time so it kind of compounds healing. Basically, if you have a lot of HP to be healed, the 2d6+CL on Scarify will get you there faster than 1d8+CL on CLW. IE healing 200 hp with wands of Scarify(ave 8) + CLW(ave 5.5) = 12 casts of Scarify(96) + 19 casts of CLW(104.5) = 31 total casts vs the 37 casts of CLW alone. A savings of near 20%.
Alternatively, research a reverse Vampiric Touch spell, lol.

In-combat healing is generally not worth it anyways.

Sounds like The Empath from Star Trek

It’s complicated. It depends on how quickly your party can take down threats. Smaller parties tend to need more healing. And doing it effectively requires a pretty limited build based on channel and damage redistribution.

The flavor that the poster is asking for sounds like kineticist to me. Though that is a very weak option for healing.

I think simply having it be a curse would do. Something simple like takes minimum amount of heal in damage every heal used. That way they could channel for 3d6 and take 3, for instance.

Good Dhampir Cleric or Paladin. Everytime he heals positive energy, it hurts him.

Shadow Lodge

That... doesn't sound like what they are asking for at all, and implies the character is masochistic since you can always choose to leave yourself out of a Channel Energy effect.

On to the topic, I second Kineticist. You could also look into Spheres of Power, and alternate magic system, because one of the drawbacks(little bits of flavor with mechanical penalties. You can use them for more spell points or boons) is "every time you use magic, take a small amount of damage."

Well there are gods of suffering... but the main one is lawful evil so channel is out. I looked that way too for just that reason

Perhaps some kind of Pain Boost that is separate from Life Oracle? 1 HP inflicted oneself means another +1 healed on the target.

The Life Link revelation of the Life Mystery Oracle emulates that sort of ability pretty well.
