Double slice question.

Skills, Feats, Equipment & Spells

The question is can I double slice twice in one round with appropriate penalties while under the quick condition from the items below?

I need 2 actions and 2 strikes to double slice.

DOUBLE SLICE FEAT 1
Requirements You are wielding two melee weapons, each in a different hand.
"Make one Strike" (see page 308) with each of your two melee weapons, each at your current multiple attack penalty. The second Strike takes a –2 circumstance penalty if it’s made with a weapon that doesn’t have the agile trait (see page 182). If both attacks hit, combine the attacks’ damage, and then add any other applicable enhancements from both weapons. For purposes of resistances and weaknesses, this is considered a single Strike. This counts as two attacks when calculating your multiple attack penalty (see page 305).

Speed rune:
While wielding a speed weapon, you gain the quick condition, but you can use the additional action granted only to make a Strike with the etched weapon.

Haste spell/ Potion of Quickness
The target acts faster. It gains the quick condition and can use the
extra action each round only for Strike and Stride actions.

Interesting questions. It really boils down to is Double Slice considered a Strike for the purposes of Quick.

Now, I expected this to be pretty ambiguous and was leaning to the RAW not allowing it, but luckily I found a passage in an unlikily spot that coveres exactly this kind of scenario.

Activities pg 296
"An activity doesn’t count as any of its dependent actions
or other abilities. For example, the quick condition you
get from the haste spell lets you spend an extra action
each turn to Stride or Strike, but you couldn’t use the
extra action for an activity that includes a Stride or Strike."

So, its pretty clear, the Double Strike activity does not count as a Strike that can be used by the Action granted by Quick.

Exactly this, though one additional note. Even if you could use Double Slice twice in this scenario it would be pointless. Say you have 4 actions via Quick as said here. You use the first two to double slice, making two attacks at your full accuracy. After the attacks are made it counts as two attacks for MAP so your MAP is at the max. So it doesn't make a difference whether you use those other two actions to double slice again or just to strike twice normally, even if you COULD use double slice again here (Which as per the above you can't).

1st and 2nd actions: Main and off hand attack with full bonus,

3rd action: 1 attack, main or off hand, -10(or -8) penalty

Main hand quick weapon action: 1 attack, main hand, -10(-8) penalty,

Off hand quick weapon action: 1 attack, off hand, -10(-8) penalty,

Haste/quick action; 1 attack, main or off hand, -10(-8) penaly.

So total, 6 attacks, 2 with full bonus, 4 with -10(-8) penalty,

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Quick doesn't stack like that. Quick gives you 1 extra action to do something a that a quick effect allows you to do.

As per above. The only extra gained by having multiple sources of quick is that if they give you different options to use the action you can choose from any of the options.
