Correct me if I'm wrong, but Grogu is sitting where droids like R2 usually sit right? I think they're called astro-mech droids? Well, wouldn't that compartment be built for a droid that has to like, connect to the ship in some way? I suppose Din Jarin must've made some customizations.

Completely custom ship made for him and Grogu. See Book of Boba Fett if you want to see that.

While I'm watching Book of Boba Fett for the ship build, should I also go back and rewatch the Clone Wars cartoons? The other thing I don't understand is: why doesn't Bo-Katan just beat up Din Jarin and take the Darksaber?

The Clone Wars does have some bits about the Darksaber, but wouldn't say you need to re-watch for that. I'm pretty sure in S2 of Mandalorian they mentioned that if it's not won in honorable combat it's cursed/doesn't count as making you the leader of Mandalore, etc. As for why Bo-Katan hasn't challenged Din for it in a duel, that's not 100% clear - either because she doesn't want to fight an ally, or a formal duel doesn't count, it has to be a real combat.

If you're going to watch/re-watch anything else for context, Star Wars Rebels is what you should watch. There's hints that things from it could show up in Mandalorian S3, and it definitely will play a large part in the Ashoka show.

Actually, season 3 has a new composer, but he heavily leans into the musical themes Ludwig created in seasons 1-2. You can see in the credits both get mentioned.

I cheered when Pellaeon showed up. He was great in the old EU. He's doomed by the sequel trilogy, but at least we see him.

I'm also loving Bo Katan here.

But I'm just waiting for Thrawn.

Pretty sure Thrawn reference is just setting the stage for Ashoka where he actually shows up. But agreed, looking forward to him (and that entire show).

Another fun detail is that Admiral Hux the senior was played by the brother of the actor who played Admiral Hux the junior in the sequel series, which gives them an automatic family resemblance.

I'd love to someday find out what each of the members of the Shadow Council's individual plans and plots were before they merge into the New Order.

I just started watching it but it's pretty entertaining.

I like it, quite a bit, and have happily watched the whole thing. I will definitely watch the next season when it comes out.

However, it is painfully and uselessly slow.... in every episode as best as I can recall. I binged it this last weekend because gamers are flaky by nature and Saturday's usual all-day game was pushed out to next week. For the three of us who showed, we voted to binge on Mando. The only thing I'm personally hung up on is the ####### ####### "this is the way/we never remove our helmets" thing. It reminds me of something "cool" my eight-year-old self would've come up with. <eyeroll>

also...:
They broke the Darksaber! WTF! Jedi and quasi-Jedi things are the best part of SW and they break the not-a-lightsaber. Maybe Bo's side quest next season will be to reforge the Darksaber. Her character deserves more screen time.

Thor Skywalker, a SW fan of prolific output, pretty much nails the downside of Mando season 3.

Anyway, I'm shipping BoDin for s4.
:D

I was hoping for DinBo because it sounds appropriate for the bimbo Mandos Din belongs to.

For season 4 I'm hoping they leave Din and Grogu and give us a new main character who is basically Canderous Ordo in modern times. Give us some proper brutal, a*@&+*~#, warmongering Mandalorians again instead of the dumbass quasi-noble stuff we have now.

YES!

No. Let them have an actual society instead of being just space bullies taken out by the jedi.

They did have an actual society before, it just wasn't very nice.
