Is there any way to download a dump of the Pathfinder PRD as it was?

Ya, not a big fan of this moving everything over to Archives of Nethys.

Yes, the info is there, but the format of the orginal PRD was much easier for me to find things I was looking for 8(

Yea, no offence to AoN, I just liked the PRD format. It's easier to limit books (CRB only, or CRB+APG) for new players, otherwise it's just an overload for them.

Here is a Wayback Machine link.

Anyone know how to download that for offline use? The wayback is super slow.

Slow is better than non-existent.

Thank you Milo v3!

What do you mean as it was? As far as I can tell nothing has changed about it.

The PRD has been removed, and Archives of Nethys is now the officially supported reference website for Pathfinder and Starfinder.

Interesting. Also I thought you were talking about the pfsrd for a little bit XD. Except for a very few corner cases I never actually used the prd but I will miss their pages on magic items their page for guidelines for making new ones was a lot easier to navigate than the pfsrd version.

It's worth mentioning that http://www.d20pfsrd.com still exists and is alive. I don't know if there are plans for it to go down at some point but I always found that to actually be a better site than the PRD

d20pfsrd is just a dumping ground for all Pathfinder related material. That's a nightmare to navigate for new players.

... Well, it takes 3 minutes+ to load up the wizard spell list on AoN.

Seriously, could anyone at Paizo just give us a copy of the PRD site so that I can host it on an personal server for my players to use?

I'm planning to use the HTTrack utility to download it from the Wayback Machine link Milo v3 posted.

ya, I hate using the d20 pfsrd and avoid it whenever possible.

Nethys was ok for lookign up non ogl items, but the regular Paizo prd was by far my go to source. It was easy to find what I was after, and had a great layout.

I can not express the sense of disappointment that comes over me, every time I click on my prd link and end up at the AoN site now

There is an app called Masterwork Tool: Pathfinder Open Reference. It doesn't have any 3rd party books but I haven't used AoN, PFSRD, or the PRD in ages.

I have always found this to be the easiest to navigate...
Here .

Hazah! AoN's hosting the legacy site.
http://legacy.aonprd.com/

Although, I'm more concerned about the root AoN site now. I thought that the 2-3 minute loading time when I click "Spells -> Wizard" was because the site couldn't handle the increases traffic. But the old PRD, assumable hosted on his servers, is running just as fast. That means that the actual structure of his website is causing that delay.

I mean I wish his site the best, but if we're looking up a spell at the table, a 2-3 minute wait means that you miss your turn. And god-forbid you miss-click on the wrong spell, because then it's another 2-3 minute wait to reload the page.

Anyway, I'll scrape the legacy site with that HTTrack in case they take it down again.

@cyandb: Yea, use that personally as much as possible, but sometimes the links are a little sketchy. Better by-book separations, but still an, information overload for newbies when some of the links don't work.

The spell list on AoN has always been slow, significantly more than the rest of the site in my xp. I vaguely recall a news post discussing this being a known issue that was being examined.

If it's bothering you that much why not use the pfsrd for spells and rely on AOTN for the other stuff you need?

Cool, got a copy of the site (Cheers Fuzzy-Wuzzy), unfortunately it has the "You are viewing the legacy Pathfinder Reference Document website." message at the top of every page.

I still would love a copy of the original if Paizo is willing to distribute that.

I turned off the pictures in my browser and I got the wizard list up in 30 seconds. Still slow, but not as slow as 3 minutes.

(And I've got a crazy slow connection at only 6 Mb down 1 up.)
