I'm still glad to feel able to post regularly again. :)
I'm still stuck on what feat to pick up for Patenemheb. I could always grab another skill focus, but I suspect there are more interesting and useful options.

Ariarh Kane |

Paten, this would be a nice accompaniment to Wise Counsel:
Combat Advice Feat: Your succinct words can aid an ally even in the heat of battle.
Benefit(s): As a move action, you can offer useful advice to an ally engaged in combat at just the right moment. Designate an enemy; your ally gains a +2 competence bonus on her next attack roll against that enemy. For your ally to benefit from this feat, you must be able to clearly see your ally and the designated enemy, and your ally must be able to hear you.

Just a courtesy heads up:
It’s the weekend already and it’s going to be a busy one with two out of town family get togethers: one for my niece and her husband who are visiting from the US and a belated birthday luncheon for my dad. I won’t be able to post again until my Monday (your Sunday).
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. :)

Tairin of the Veils |

Enjoy your quality time with your wife, Bjoern.
Dain GM: I sent you a PM in regard to Sabra. Thanks.

Patenemheb Sitayet |

Enjoy your respective weekends, folks! :)

Patenemheb Sitayet |

Weekend can be irregular for access for most people. Tairin is generally away at them these days.
I'm plotting a post.

I posted this message a couple of days ago :

Also, Paizo was down for maintemce for a few hours yesterday, and had been playing up for me since. So, I’m assuming the other players had the same problem.
I will post a little later this morning.

Dain GM |

Sorry for the lack of posting; I was in the hospital much of the day.
On the plus side the C/T Scan came out normal, but I have to go back to the hospital for a specialist in concussions tomorrow.
I will get back to responses soon and I apologize for any delay or the quality of my work.
Since the accident I've had issues with stress and strange mood swings as well as problems with concentration and the ability to focus clearly; this is making it hard for me to do a lot of things sa well as I should and I do apologize for that, too.
Thank you for your patience and I'll see you all soon!

Talar Drealev |

PLEASE do not worry about us or feel obligated to apologize. You are experiencing serious medical issues, we all want you to make sure you're taking care of yourself.

Patenemheb Sitayet |

Dain, in a similar vein to Talar, I urge you to take care of your needs before worrying about other matters.

I'm a little perplexed in how to rp this scenario with the High Priest since he's only addressing questions to Paten yet Tairin has the higher diplomacy and more cunning wiles.
I'm unsure whether Tairin is meant to be mute and just look pretty ... but that means there won't be much rp posted by me during this "diplomatic" encounter. Plus with the time zone differences, waiting for Paten to post first means I won't be able to post something up until my morning and it means Dain has to wait around for numerous hours. Shrugs. So, I'm unsure what to do here.

He's speaking to Paten out of convention.
He'll naturally speak to or address you when you speak to him directly; but this is not as common in his patriarchal mindset. But since he was definitely focused on you personally, you would know he'd be happy to respond to you if you have more questions.
The entire post was meant to convey a sense of his assumed superiority over you and Paten. Why he would feel that way when your titles are known/recognized is something that should perplex and confuse your characters as your titles are important.
Your character should also wonder why it is a that a High Priest who is not in Yar-Ammon but instead in a city that is far from your nation (clearly far enough that he is completely comfortable in telling you that he supports the Old Gods rather than the formally recognized State Religion) is an issue that should make your character feel that he is almost "baiting you" with that information for some reason.
His entire attitude and presence was meant to be confusing and unusual for many reasons, actually, which I assumed you and Paten would notice right away and, in turn, been confused by why he responded the way he did and try to figure out the best strategy to dealing with him and then RP it out via the situation.
Paten indicated that he would not be able to post until lunch or dinner and mentioned something about an f2f game on Discord; I don't know what f2f is, but it sounds like his day is busy and he may not respond for a long time if you post a question to him to try to get some ideas how to deal with this guy, unfortunately.
To clarify: he is at least a High Priest; you know that he definitely recognizes the titles of you and Paten; you know that he is not acting more humble before your titles which would suggest he sees his own position as greater than your titles and does not feel the need to humble himself, or he is confident enough with his own power in this city that he feels that whatever you may try to do to him for his mentioning of the Old Gods is not something he is very worried about at this time for some reason.
Also, you can wait for Paten to eventually offer any suggestions or feedback or you could try RPing directly with the guy at this time, and although he did speak to Paten directly it's likely that he will respond to your RP directly if you speak to him as he clearly had his eye on you.

Ariarh Kane |

f2f= face to face (table top game).
I also did ask for players to post messages here in regard to schedules re posting as I'm not on Discord and can't read those messages unfortunately.
As to posting questions to Paten's character in game, how is that possible when we have the High Priest before us and waiting on our response? It would look iffy if we drew away to privately converse.
And, Tairin did directly rp with him earlier as she responded to his greeting. Shrugs. I understand the patriarchy schtick, yet in play-by-post that can stall rp with female PCs.
I posted something to get the ball rolling without upping Paten. Yet, I really don't want to be doing nothing until Paten posts in this scenario.

I'm sorry; I just meant asking Paten for ideas Out of Game not In-Game was all . Also, don't worry about waiting; I'll be responding to your RP in just a moment :)

Ariarh Kane |

I don’t need to ask for ideas on how to deal with the priest. Anyhow, Paten’s not around at present to ask questions. I simply was confused as to how to respond to an NPC when he only and deliberately addresses one PC (the male) and deliberately does so because of patriarchial attitudes.
It’s very late here and I have a very early start in my morning. I’ll check the boards in my morning some time. Good night.

Patenemheb Sitayet |

I really should not make assumption about acronyms.
I will be running a tabletop game here in an hour or two.
Apologies for any confusion.

Patenemheb Sitayet |

I have posted, and hopefully given Tairin something to work with.
I am also going to take Combat Advice for my 5th level feat. It seems appropriate.

Dain GM |

I asked about the slaves and made checks in regard to knowing something more about them. I didn’t see that addressed in the recent post (unless I missed it somewhere?) Dain GM, can you please provide a response in regard to the kneeling slaves?
Sorry, I must have missed that. I had a seizure yesterday and haven't been focusing good and just wanted to get soemthing up for you guys.
However, neither of the two slaves were Aisha. Actually, they were both male slaves, I thought I mentioned that, but I guess I didn't.
Sorry again for the confusion.

Ariarh Kane |

You’d only mentioned one was male as per the following:
As you enter you notice that two slaves are kneeling by the doorway in the back.
He pauses and claps his hands and a slave stands suddenly and fetches him a platter with goblets on it and a pitcher of wine which he brings to the side of Thoth-Apep and places it on the side of the table and pours the drink in to the goblet and Thoth-Apep, without even glancing, takes the goblet and lifts it to his lips and sips it slowly while watching Tairin.
Thanks for the clarification in your recent discussion post and take care of yourself. Posting can always wait until you’re feeling better.

Patenemheb Sitayet |

I've come to believe that while there is no such thing as being too clear in a pbp, there is such a thing as time and effort constraints. And ill health certainly drains both. Take care Dain.

Ariarh Kane |

He has little fear from an enemy from your kingdom as you're far from your homeland.
Khazistan and Yar-Ammon are neighbours. On the map, the distance between Zul-Bazzir and Khadis (place of Red Sphinx and gateway to Khazistan) in Yar-Ammon is approx a little over 100 miles (going by key on the map). We travelled much further from Susrah to Khazistan. So, the priest isn't that far from his homeland, technically, is he?
It's late here and I'll post in my morning.

If you are hinting that this priest seems over confident I would agree with you ;)

Patenemheb Sitayet |

@Dain
Given Patenemheb's knowledge, how much does he know of sorcery among the priesthood of Sekhmet, or if there is such a thing?
I have it in mind that he practices an extremely carefully thought out version of magic. Hence having exactly one orison to his name currently. If that counts as sorcery, I'd like to pin that down too.

Patenemheb Sitayet |

All the best Dain. Take care.

Patenemheb Sitayet |

Honestly, I think it makes sense for Tairin to work questions in here. The priest is clearly much more attentive to her.

Ariarh Kane |

I think Tairin needs Paten’s support as this guy would try to bed Tairin this minute if they were alone. And the questioning really doesn’t seem to be going all that well. :/ Honestly, it doesn’t seem like he’ll give us much. It’d be good to get a tour of the temple district...at least we may spy Aisha somewhere inside, rather than stay in this one room.
I’ll post something later in my afternoon as it’s a busy day. Sorry for the hold up.

Patenemheb Sitayet |

Oh he is certainly there to support (see post). I just thought in that particular instance that it made more sense for Tairin to take a lead and him to back that up. I wasn't intending for Patenemheb to remain silent.

Ariarh Kane |

Long day and a longer one tomorrow. I will try to post a response in my morning as I'm really tired and just want to lie down and rest/sleep now.
Paten can somehow let Tairin know what he's gleamed from the priest's intentions/motives before we set off for the Temple District.

Dain GM |

Sorry I haven't posted responses as frequently as I mean to. I've read them and tried working on responses, but lately my writing is off for some reason; it's just been hard to concentrate.
I should have something up soon for all of you this afternoon or evening, though. I wish I could do more, but lately I've been getting these weird headaches and it's been so hard to focus properly.
As I read this over now I know that I'm still able to write fairly well. At least, I can see the grammar and syntax is fine in this post, relatively, but lately it seems that the creative part of my writing is messing with me and I don't know how to get that fixed, but I will have something up tonight and sorry again for the delay.

Talar Drealev |

Stop apologizing. Please. Take care of yourself.
If the game needs to slow down for a bit, or even take a break, personally I'm fine with that. Especially if it can help you feel better.

Patenemheb Sitayet |

Dain, if you need more rest, take it.

And addenum. As I am preparing for my first Larp in 20 years I try to get back in shape and training hard with axe and shield. Doing something yourself gives you a lot of insight what you can do ;-)
