What classes have you played, And what one is your favorite?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So, I'm just asking out of curiosity, What classes have you played? How would you rate them from favorite to least favorite?

I have played a Cleric, A Brawler, A Alchemist and a Cavalier. And rated in order of favorite to least favorite, My favorite one was my Alchemist, Then Cleric, Then Cavalier, And last Brawler.

My Cleric was my first character but partly due to in character reasons and partly due to me wanting to try other classes he retierd.
Then I played a Brawler in a second side campaign, but it ended after we reached level 2..
Then I played a Alchemist after my Cleric and I absolutely loved the character! Unfortunately he died to a monster made out of moss and dirt and tentacles..
And currently I'm playing a Cavalier, Order of the Paw. But he is going to be leaving the party shortly due to not getting along with the oracle, And because the party is traveling to another continent and my Cavalier not wanting to travel that far away from his home village.

Grand Lodge

1) Wizard
2) Paladin
3) Inquisitor
4) Ranger

.

Hmmm, easier to do this the other way.

I've NOT yet played a Vigilante.
I've yet to play a Brawler or Shaman.
I've designed & built but not yet played an Arcanist, Hunter or Warpriest.

I've Never played a Ninja, Samurai or Gunslinger; nor have I ever played anything from the Occult book (all illegal in my games, both UC & Occult are crap-cheese).

Played (in no particular order): fighter, ranger, barbarian, monk, druid, wizard, inquistor, oracle, summoner, magus, aspiring mystic theurge (back from when early-entry was a thing). Most of which were in games that petered out after only a few levels.

Fave: definitely the inquisitor, but I look forward most to getting a barb up to decent levels.

A few of these are cheating because they've been from gestalt chars, but I've played, in relative order of play*: Rogue (chained), Cavalier, Samurai, Cleric, Wizard, Sorcerer, Oracle, Druid, Monk, Paladin, Bloodrager, Magus, Inquisitor, Swashbuckler, Shaman.

*=Without counting the numerous chars I've created as a DM, despite recurrency.

Magus and Inquisitor are definitely my favorite classes, though I've gotta admit that Bloodragers are fun and Paladins with thematic Oath and archetype choices can definitely be a blast to roleplay. I'm generally less a fan of martial beaters than I am themed casters (I've also done a Shrodinger's wiz build, and while the char was successful, it ultimately wasn't quite as fun as flawed ones are).

Sorcerer, Witch, Inquisitor, Mesmerist, Occultist, Druid, Oracle and Spiritualist are the classes I've played. In theory I like my Sorc the most but the campaign he was in died very quick :(

I'd really like to play the Psychic, Kineticist, Investigator, Alchemist, Brawler and I have other oracle ideas I'd like to try.

Actually I have several classes that I have multiple builds for my main problem is no-where to play em, aside from the sorc I'd say I find the core classes the least attractive, they normally feel either under powered or broken and usually when they're broken you powerful.

If I had to pick I favoured selection I'd go occult, they're generally less abusable and more well balanced than previous classes. Although I generally think 6th level casters 3/4 BAB classes are pathfinders sweet spot.

Full Arcane
Tie between Arcanist and Witch

Full Divine
Druid

My cleric was more effective for the party, but less fun to play.

6th level casting

For now bard, but I haven't really had the chance to try an Inquisitor, which is on my list.

4th level casting
Ranger, but I want to try a paladin or antipaladin for more than 2 levels.

no casting
Barbarian, even though some of its abilities are magical

3rd party martial
Tie between 3.5 Warblade and Crusader from ToB

3rd party "casting"
Psions

Let's see. In terms of JUST classes, I've played PCs like this, in roughly chronological order over the past 8 years:

Ranger 2
Fighter 4/Wizard 2/Bladesinger 3/Spellsword 1/Eldritch Knight 1
Ranger 11/Fighter 2
Bard 6
Wizard 7/Sleepless Detective 1/Arcane Trickster 10
Warpriest of Milani 4
Witch 16/Shadowdancer 1, mythic path Archmage 6
Fighter 20, mythic path Champion 1
Oracle 1/Sorcerer 19

Aside from that? As a GM, I get to play LOTS of stuff! But usually not for very long, because they tend to get dead pretty quick.

I've played in 3 PF games, all of which ended prematurely, to my chagrin

a) a homebrew in which I played a very enjoyable Chrurgeon alchemist
b) a Kingmaker campaign where I played another Chirurgeon to console myself for the premature ending of the previous game
c) a Reign of Winter campaign where I played an Ice Elf ranger (specializing in the Elven Curve Blade)...

I enjoyed all three characters, but I did enjoy the alchemists more. I could give their levels, but am loathe to perform the archeological digging necessary to retrieve the charsheets.

I can't say which are really my favorite classes for lack of playtesting them.
