I been playing Pathfinder for years and love it and love how they introduced Pathfinders Kit in the Player Companion a few years ago. With SF still know I came up with 2 Star Finder Gear Packages.

Starfinder Gear Package List
Basic SGP- Backpack(consumer), 5x R2E(meals ready to Eat) , Cable Line - Titanium 50ft, Flashlight, Personal Com unit, Survival knife. 110 credits

Deluxe SGP-Backpack(industral), 5x R2E(meals ready to Eat) , Cable Line - Titanium 100ft, Flashlight, Personal Com unit, Survival knife, and basic med kit. 175 credits

Grand Lodge

why not MREs since they last you a whole week

Because they taste terrible. My character has both. Most missions planet side should be less than a week but it's space, shit happens so he has MRE's in case a three day mission becomes three week misson

The pregens also all have hygiene kits.

Dark Archive

xD, about hygiene kits, i have a question.
I've recently started directing adventure path Dead Suns and in the inventory of my players, I have noticed that none of them have it.
When i asked for it, they tell me what this item is a useless item and they no need it.
My question, apart from the obvious, what is the use of the game, and what could i put as a penalty for not having / using it?

I would say... maybe like a steadily increasing negative on social stuff, based on the amount of days since they player has trimmed his beard or cleaned his eyestalks?

This is what I buy for every character.

Starstone Compass (3), Personal Comm Unit (7), 5 Everyday Clothing (5), Industrial Backpack (25), Travel Outfit (10), Hygiene Kit (3), 5 Field Ration (5),

I usually add a flashlight to that (for characters with no darkvision) and a smoke grenade and at least one Mk1 Healing potion after buying Armor/Weapons/Ammo.

As long as they are in the station, or with access to a starship, they can probably use local supplies. Once they get away from civilization, they should start stinking up fast.

Just imagine how a vesk BO must smell to other races, specially ones with sensitive noses.

Any NPCs they meet should treat them accordingly.

I'd consider also:

Called weapon fusion (120 credits), to never have to bother with being disarmed or using a move action to draw your main weapon;

Infrared sensors armor upgrade (200 credits), if your race doesn't have darkvision.

If not at creation, after getting your first credstick from a mob.

If they are not in a city or their ship I would give them progressively bigger penalties to any survival roles they need to make. At least one of the adventure paths has a fairly long overland trip and if you don't take care of hygiene in that kind of climate/conditions you are begging for some pretty hideous illness/disease/infections.

On the hygiene kit topic there is a reason the military has strict hygiene requirements and maintains them as best as they can even in the field. Hygiene problems can take out not just you but potentially others in your company pretty fast if you don't stay on top of it.

Just imagine a Bantrid with trench... 'foot.'

Three hygiene kits? What on earth does that do for you that one does not? Seems like a waste of valuable bulk space to me: those things are not light.

For some perspective, those three hygiene kits possess the same bulk as the heaviest heavy armors!

That's the Cost (how many credits), not the quantity. I don't carry around 25 industrial backpacks, either. The quantity is listed first, where applicable like 5 Everyday Clothing (5).

And is that blood splatter on their shirts, call the guards! That and where else are they going to get b~@& w~~@s? You don't wana use plant leaves. They don't make for good waste removel. So they will also smell like poo.
