Hey everyone,
I have the hardcover AP of Dead Suns and was wondering if there was any way to get the maps of the different locations/ships as a pdf so I can print them out to play on them with my group. They are, obviously, too small in the AP but it might be possible to enlarge them so that they fit.
I have some (not so suitable) miniatures at home and it would be a shame if I could not use the beautifully coloured maps provided in the Adventure Path. Drawing them just isn't really the same.
Also, is there any way to get a basic 1-inch hex grid somewhere to print out for space combat? It doesn't have to be coloured, just white would be fine.
Thanks in advance!

Use it if that's what you're looking for. It even has a hex adjustment feature so you can make the hexes as big or small as you want them.

If you have a pro version adobe acrobat, you can just select the image and hit export, and it exports it without any of the overlay number icons which is nice.
You can do the same with adobe photoshop.
Theres a few online tools which claim to extract images but I haven't tried them.
It would be nice if paizo included these as a download somewhere, I'm lucky enough to have adobe pro licenses in work but most people won't

If you subscribe to the Adventure Path, you get the PDF for free. If you have the PDF, there are various ways to extract the images, cut them up to size, and print them out.
The Pathfinder APs had separate PDFs with the maps released, but those always came later, and you would need to pay for those.

I'd like to bump this one. Just print outs of the maps would be great. I could scan the book, but the quality would degrade rapidly.
It feels a real shame not to be able to use the wonderful maps provided, and having to replicate them on a wipe mat.
Perhaps Paizo could provide a 1 off code in hardcover AP's so we can add the maps to our accounts if they don't want them to be public?

I second that idea. It would be awesome if we could put in a upc code to receive a PDF version of the maps in the adventure paths. Or even sell just the PDF maps at a discounted price. If you scan the maps from the book and enlarge them big enough to use as table top maps the quality is so bad that it's pretty much useless.

Paizo employees have pointed out before that when they order art, it is not at a resolution to look right when printed at battle map size. It would be cost prohibitive to improve the original art images that much.
For Pathfinder APs, the pdfs came with a separate file of maps. After the entire AP was released, they would sell an item that was just pdf maps for the entire AP for people who had bought paper copies. I agree it would be nice if they did that here.

They choose to order maps that are not good for battle maps. Several digital artists on here have pointed out that they could do so and it would not be cost prohibitive.

As an digital artist myself I can't really agree with this. Most artists already work on the doubled resolution and then scale it down for release.
Also photoshop does quite a good job when scaling pictures up (depending on the Format of cause, but I doubt that paizo will get the art in .jpg or .bmp format^^).I think it would be a really nice move if they can release the map as a free .pdf for people who buy the AP (either digital or as hardcopy) and then a little bit later release them as a seperate product for some bucks.
@Wrath: depends on which format you use to save it. ;)

Starfinder RPG Maps for Incident at Absalom Station by Damien Mammoliti
Those look very close to the originals, even with the same messed up grids that look smaller and bigger at points.

Can someone clarify. Do you have to have a subscription to get the extra map PDF with the "hide encounter numbers" button or did they not do this for this AP?
There are no interactive maps for this adventure. I have not seen any communication from Paizo on this particular decision.
