The easy question: Knights of Golarion Affiliation was one of the convention boons at GenCon, and will likely be a boon in the rotation for local cons over the next year.
Shirt should be: Promotional Reroll (Venture Captain Shirt)

DM Jelani |

Automatic I believe. That's in the starfinder cheat sheet Kludde linked earlier.
You do not need to confirm critical hits. If you roll a natural 20
and the total exceeds the enemy's AC, you deal double damage
and also inflict any additional effect listed in the weapon entry
(such as “knockdown” or “burn 1d6”). See page 245.

![]() |

Mostly, only Crits on an Natural 20 (weapons do not have extended ranges).
The crit auto-confirms as stated above, if you could hit the enemy with a 20 + your bonus.
Then you do x2 dam' (and count all bonuses before the x2).
A bunch of weapons also have special crit' damage (for example applying Burn, which does 1d4 each round...).

Had not realized the Grinder was BIG!
Kappa suddenly feels at it is being chased by some huge bug!

![]() |

Grinder being big was the reason for my comment thinking he was a shirren queen. Well, that and Rhinn being an uneducated, uncultured, naïve human who things bugs are bugs and they obviously have to be related somehowe.
Interesting enough, both GenCon GM race boons were large creatures.

![]() |

Well, Rhinn is being chased too! Not only Kappa.... I say we just keep on running.
Abandon grand'ma... that's some big critter on our tail!

![]() |

But he's wearing Iomedae gear...that has to make him a good guy, right? That's the only reason Rhinn wasn't ready for fight or flee when we met.

Still learning, without a book I might add (hence the premade character)
It seems however that restoring shields only goes up to max shields amount.
Diverting shields from one quadrant to another does not have that limit, allowing a quadrant to have more than 25% of the total shields. Thus putting 10 points to the forward shields, plus the 5 remaining, ups the shields in that arc to 15, rather than the default 10.
Besides, who ever is the engineer can restore all the lost shields on their own, no need for two of us to do it. (5% of 150 is 7.5, 7 points f shields are restored when that action is taken).
If I restore shields, all I would do is bring front arc back to 10, instead of higher.
I had missed only being able to do one arc at a time though. That seems kinda of odd to me really. And if you really go for that rule, then at the very least there should be an option to minimize all shield arcs and place all the available shield points on one arc as a single action.

![]() |

Okay, the stats say we only have 40 total shields, 10 of which are on each arc.
Cutting my re-balance into two parts (since I didn't realize I could only deal with one at a time), first part (last turn) would put 5 points from port into bow, resulting in port = 5, bow/starboard/aft = 10.
Part 2, (this turn) shifts from aft to bow, resulting in port/aft = 5, starboard = 10, bow = 15.

@Kimaryn: Kappa, you do get Attunement on the first round.
Okay! Thanks. I re-re-read it... and got it now. Thanks )))

FYI to our table: I'm leaving for a work trip today that lasts until Tuesday. I'm hoping I'll still be able to post at least once a day, but feel free to bot Krensher as needed.

![]() |

Oh! Two successes... good luck on the dice (sorry I got that wrong, was 5 am my time, and had to run for the day, so was reading stuff fast)

DM Kludde |

I'm having quite a busy period at work, so sorry if updates are a bit infrequent and succint. Trying my best to keep a regular schedule, but larger setups can be delayed a bit.

It might be that you are posting text that is identical to something that was posted earlier. Paizo forums blocks such posts, thinking they are spam. Try changing what you were going to post and see if it works.

Hello!
I will be flying out on Thursday, Oct' 5 (tomorrow) and then back on Monday, Oct' 9, and will be out in the Romanian countryside in between those dates.
I've arranged to have Internet access, so I should be able to post a couple times a day.
But I am giving this warning, so, in case I go dark, it'll be because something went wrong, so just bot me for those days if it happens.

Hello! For the upcoming 'S1-00 Claim to Salvation' game, my preferred lvl 4 pregen would be the soldier. My secondary preference would be the envoy.
Please let me know if there is any other information or prep needed from me before the game starts.
And just a FYI, I'm a beginner to PBP and very, very new to using Paizo forums.
Looking forward to the game!

Hello all!
Tomorrow morning I'm off to Austria. Will be working a few days outside Vienna, and then moving to Vienna for a couple nights.
Should have Internet all the time, and be able to post twice a day, but, since I'm travelling for a week you never know what might wrong: in case I disappear that'd be the explanation.

DM Kludde |

Okay, I have the following class choices and a good opportunity to make a list (you know how I like making lists)
---
Bigboom - Soldier
AH - Technomancer
Ellinnea - Solarian
CW - Envoy
Nomanai -
Zizazat -
---

Hey, welcome on board. One of the advantages of PbP is that it's slow enough to allow you to google something, so don't worry too much about prep. It is genrally helpful if you put your character in a board alias, and put you main stats in the character description (if you edit your character's profile, you can put in 'Gender' and 'Class', and those entries can contain a lot more info that just gender and class).
One thing to maybe keep in mind: I've linked this discussion thread to several games, so players on at least four tables can see what is being posted here. That makes for a nice discussion platform, but please bear in mind not to post any spoilers for your game to this thread (the gameplay thread is fine, of course)

Kludde has a Pre-gen |

This is my Navasi (the envoy) alias that I'm using right now. SInce you can easily switch out characters, it's entirely possible that you see an Iseph or a Quig here at some time in the future.

bigboom's SFS pregen |

I have a follow up newbie question. Is there a setting somewhere or thread subscription option that I can select whereby threads I'm participating in (like this one) will send me an email notification when someone has submitted a new posting?

DM Jelani |

There's no e-mail option that I know of. But you can 'focus' the threads with the link at the top of the boards (across from the forum name i.e. Online Campaigns), which will make it only display threads you've posted in. You can also click your name at the top of the website (where it says Hello, ___) and view the threads you're in on the "campaign" tabs.

DM Kludde |

Andrew, thanks for letting me know (and actually going out your way to find a replacement - very nice!)

Those who have already chosen a character: just go directly to the gameplay thread to sign in.

Elinnea's Pregen |
I'm struggling to understand the rules in the SFS guide about applying credit from a pregen. First it says "Credit for playing higher-level pregenerated characters must be applied to a Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild character of a lower level than the pregenerated character or to a 1st-level character." Then on the next page it says "You may apply credit for an adventure once your Starfinder Society Roleplaying Guild character reaches the level of the pregenerated character used to play through it."
Can someone help me out? Who can I apply it to and when?

![]() |

If you don't apply it to a 1st lvl character for reduced rewards you need to apply it to a lower lvl character then the pregen you played it with (most of the time you play your own character if it's in lvl range) and you put the chronicle on hold. You apply it to your character when it reaches the lvl of the pregen you played with.
You can't apply it to a higher lvl character then the pregen you played with because it would never get applied
Say you play the lvl 4 pregen and you have a lvl 2 character and don't want a new lvl 1 character so you apply it to the lvl 2 character..and then it exists in a void somewhere doing nothing until you play a few more scenarios and then when you reach lvl 4 *pop* your credit from playing the pregen kicks in
Which get's a bit odd if you happend to have played a bunch with a lvl 4 pregen ..say 3 times..because then you get enough xp to spontaneously reach lvl 5, skipping lvl 4 entirely
Makes sense?

DM Kludde |

I haven't heard from nomanai, so I think I'm just going to roll with five, allowing us to start now. Can you all dot in to the gameplay thread?

![]() |

Sorry, this week got crazy.
For future reference, I have an announcements thread I try to post in when something like that happens,
http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2ukd5?TheAlicornSages-Announcements#6
Much more likely to be able to steal time away for one post than half a dozen.

So, with the storm, was it the crystals themselves that were poisonous? I'm guessing the writers didn't expect someone to suit up for the trip (that would be totally against classic tv! Logic is for suckers after all! :), but I figure with the suit, she'd only get poisoned if the crystals actually punctured the suit (not a requirement for hurting her btw) and if the crystals breaking skin were the source of the poison, otherwise she'd not be affected.
