At 3rd level you're not wasting 1k-3k+ gold on a dagger. You can't afford it and it's out of proportion to the usual.
For 11 more pounds of encumbrance and 12 more gp than the adamantine dagger sets you back, welcome to the wonderful world of carrying an adamantine pickaxe. Pickaxes are all kinds of useful as a tool, especially for crowbar type stuff, chopping through stubborn walls and doors, digging through clay and soil.
As a two-handed martial weapon (a) proficiency is not an issue for the two-handed weapon specialist; and (b) it makes for a gawdawful mess via coup de grace. 1d8+(huge bonus) x4 ?! Yeouch.
The portable ram is smooth thinking. "Barred iron door". guidance orisons maintained by caster #1. "You got this son. Archer, knock arrows and keep thine eyes sharp!"

if starting at level 3 you have plenty of time to craft b4 your start adventuring
Yes, BUT ONCE AGAIN, we're talking about equipment to take-use from level 1-3. That CLEARLY isn't starting at 3rd...
SO once again, you're looking at months of in game downtime for an adamantine weapon...
Please, please, please make suggestions within the boundaries of what's asked. If the OP wants good 1-3 level equipment, letting him know all the cool stuff your 10th level fighter can do with a +3 adamantine butchering axe is the opposite of helpful. :P
items for: "Levels 1-3".

you should only be starting at level 1 if your playing a module and most of those start with you having no gear and either being in prison or kidnapped/captured
Moot, unless you think you know how the OP plays better than the op does. The question wasn't about what levels YOU play but what items you'd take if you were playing levels 1-3. So, want to try again with an appropriate answer?

JDLPG has the best list so far with a few things added (travelers any-tool,
Portable Ram,Folding 10 foot pole, Pickaxe) you have a nearly complete list of standard adventuring items within the price range of a level 1-3 character
Also if you are a archer I would suggest a grappling arrow or 2 instead of a grappling hook

1-3 is the most boring and stressful part of a campaign and just shouldn't be played you have next to no abilities, your at risk of being 1 shoted by almost everything, you have no gold to do anything with
Agree with the bolded part disagree with the first part
Plus you have to start at 1 for PFS

Note that if you're playing Pathfinder Society, the Traveler's Any-Tool is unavailable to you until you have at least 5 Fame. This means you're level 2 at the earliest if you earn 2 Prestige each session, or level 4 at the worst if you only earn 1 Prestige each session. Unless, of course, you spend 2 PP to get a free one (I do not recommend this).
A portable ram weighs 20 lbs to gain a measly +2/+4 bonus to break down a door. I consider that an insane amount of weight unless you're bringing a pack mule.
A folding 10 ft. pole is likewise a hefty addition to your encumbrance at 10 lbs. I'd prefer to have a 9 lbs longspear or 12 lbs lucerne hammer and just use that instead. Plus, they can actually be used in combat.
A pickaxe also weighs 12 lbs. Again, only worthwhile if you're bringing a pack mule with you. I've never regretted not having a pickaxe in my backpack when making a coup-de-grace attempt. Since you need to spend a move action to draw it first, you can't use it in the same round as you coup-de-grace.
I'd already considered and discarded the above items for my list due to the reasons I've outlined.

That sounds just awful...

Weight shouldn't be an issue unless you have no strength. Even then, there are traits for that. Efficient Packer and Muscle of the Society traits both add 2 str for carry. Even a str 9 can gain enough carry to cover that portable ram. Add masterwork backpack for another 1 str and a str 8 now adds enough str for that ram. Then there is the Cut Your Losses feat for another 2 str for carry. And if you REALLY want to carry things, Pack Mule fighter does the trick.
Take everything and you can have str + 7 + 1/2 level and medium loads don't slow you down! And I think it's all PFS usable.
EDIT: If you use the expanded craft/profession rules, a DC 15 profession Porter also gets you 2 str for carry.
