I will be playing the final scenario in the Eyes of the Ten arc soon, and I have 20,000 gold that I just don't know what to do with. I could upgrade my Cloak of Resistance, perhaps my armor, or Ring of Protection, but what I really want is an off the wall item that may (or may not) help out.
What is one item you always wished you had but never managed to buy?
Ha! My son beat me to it...so his Cleric summons monsters, heals when required, uses his Staff of Fire, and enjoys the occasional Rod of Wonder blast.

My monk spent 28k on a really nice amulet [Amulet of Armored Fist +2 w/Menacing & Cruel], and 10k on Handwraps of Blinding Ki and of course the 13k for Monk's Robes and has since been mostly spending money on potions to keep alive.
I have enough to buy the Greater Hat of Disguise i got on a boon- but i ask myself- is a +2 Str bonus for 9 mins [CL3 Alter Self] worth 12k?
I want to buy a Ring of Far Strike [Punishing Kick from 30ft? Why not?] and the "+1 Insight bonus to AC" Ioun Stone, but it's either those or the Hat...
As for your character, it depends on that it is- defensive items and enhancements on weapons armor are always recommended.
Can you fly, turn invisible, deal with invisibility?
Have you thought about overcoming the various kinds of DR and SR?
Is your AC =20+level for a tank, 15+level for a support fighter, 10+level for a back ranker?
Divide your hit points by your level. Is it at least 6 for back rank, 8 for front?
And selvaxri, while +2 star won't hurt you, the other benefits of alter self are way more useful, like temporary gills when you find the room filling with water.
