The prequels sucked. It is known.
What if we had the chance to re-tell them?
A Saga Edition campaign has been ruminating in my brain pan for quite some time. This thread is merely a check to see who would be interested in a retelling of the prequel trilogies. This would deviate SIGNIFICANTLY from canon, though, ultimately, the idea is for the game to serve as an alternate prequel for the Original Trilogy.
I would be looking for four to six players. There would be options to play original or canon characters. I would require only two canon characters- Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. Much of the game will hinge on the relationship between those two players and characters.
Players would have freedom in how to build any character, canon or original. I would be using some house rules for faster feat and talent acquisition; in my Saga games I like a more cinematic feel to the action and prefer giving characters more options. Conversely, threats will generally be far more deadly as well.
This thread is ONLY an interest check. Who might enjoy a game such as this?

Definitely interested, and have to throw my hat in the ring as a potential for Anakin, if we are in fact allowed to play as the two canon characters (as it sounds like we might be).
The broad strokes would be the same. Hidden Sith, secret clone army, bringing down the Jedi from within. The details will be massively different. More intrigue, better bad guys, different challenges. Don't want to give too much away.
The start would be similar to the prequel; you're going to Naboo. However, you're not going there to stop the Trade Federation. You're there to negotiate with the Mandalorians that have blockaded the planet...
You missed an essential canon character. I'd like to play R2D2.
Woah woah woah, if you're bringing in the Mandolorians like that, I would totally play as a Mandolorian, maybe with force sensitivity. Otherwise I'd be interested in playing as a Gray Paladin, a Jedi that eschews lightsabers for more standard weaponry.

Damn it! Playing as Qui-Gonn or even one of the other masters (like Plo Koon, or - gasp! - Mace Windu!) would be cool as hell. I mean, if it wasn't for the part where they die. Lol :) Well, I'd want to play one of the soon-to-be-dead guys anyway.
Well, since we're gonna make a hard left from cannon, there's no reason for some of the Jedi to survive if they didn't make it originally.
Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, as well as others. The player of Anakin would be introduced on Tatooine, so he would have to wait a bit. Honestly the player of Anakin will have probably the hardest time; he has to fall to the Dark Side.
Jedi Masters will not be available. Characters will start at some point between 5 and 7 (not sure yet); almost Knights themselves. Don't want to blow the power scale out quite this early :p
