Reroll from character folio

My understanding of getting a reroll from an item like a shirt is that you are to be wearing the shirt. Am I in the wrong to think that to get a reroll from a character folio said folio should be for the character you are playing? (ie "I have the folio in my bag for a different character" isn't good enough?)

No, they can be for any character. its supposed to be on the table but lets face it, jimmy hoffa could be on a pathfinder table and get a stealth check from the cover.

So you just have to display said shirt/folio to get the reroll.

My thought was if you aren't playing the character in the folio you aren't "using" it. Same as if you aren't wearing the shirt you aren't using it. Clearly I was mistaken.

it just needs to be displayed, not used. So in their bag "technically" doesn't count. Until they pull it out and display it. Most people in my lodges still have theirs in whats left of the plastic after years of use for a reroll.

My folio is a dice rolling surface so when I use aluminum dice I won't scar the wooden table.

I agree the wrapped-in-plastic folio is a bit of a lame reroll prop. But it's pretty convenient for carrying around.

I'm not proud of "pay to win". But not ashamed enough not to do it :P

I'd wear a shirt if they had shirts I liked, or some other option. (I like the purple volunteer shirts fine, but I can't go volunteer.) So for now I'm folio-ing it up too.

I'm sure they've got plans to expand the lineup at some point in the distant future. :)

It's not that expensive when you make a larger order, the last of the season 8 shirts the local VOs and players wanted just arrived today ^^

I'd really like to show my support with a shirt as well, but I don't really like any of the shirts on offer. While I have no problem wearing geek shirts or wearing logos, I'm not fond of basically being a walking billboard, with "Pathfinder" written on my chest from nipple to nipple. Which, I guess, is the point of the shirt rerolls, but still, I prefer references or nods to the brand above "look at this! Ask me about my shirt!"

The Goblin Ale shirts can be ordered from the site now. They are a lot less 'pathfinder from nipple to nipple' ;)
