Newly-Created Character?

Sovereign Court 3/5

Just what defines a Newly Created Character? There are a couple things on chronicle sheets and in the guild guide that refer to this. Is it just a new lvl 1 with no chronicles on it yet, or is it something else?

Mike Brock clarified that it was any character with 3 or less XP.

Edit: he was talking about Race Boons, but the general consensus is that any sort of similar Boon would have the same application, because you can completely rebuild any character up until that point.

Sweet, thank you for the swift reply

And I believe that is should include pregens being applied to a "new level 1 character" right?

When I looked, the conclusion I came to was that yes, this was the case, and that seems to be how most people interpret it.

Even so, I don't think we have anything formal other than Mike Brock's post to go on, so expect some table variation.

I think it's anything that hasn't solidified out of protoplasm by being played at second level or higher, so you could play twice, run a module , dm a game and be a new character at level 3.

I don't see any call for variation: they can either see the ruling on the boards or they'll never know you used to be a halfling.

I was referring to applications outside of the specific case Brock talked about--adding race boons, This would be stuff like applying pregen credit to a new level 1, or converting higher-level credit to 500 gp and applying it to said level 1 character.

While I agree with you--and most of the responders I found also agreed--not everyone did. Hence my warning about table variation. You might have to have some pointed conversations if it somehow comes up.
