To get back on topic, being able to get SoP (and its descendents) through an add-on would be great.
Yep, we officially have reward tiers in place that will allow you to pick up both Spheres of Might (by the way, Adam called it, that's the name now) and Spheres of Power both through your pledge.
I would love to be able to get SoP/SoC compiled in a hardback book (maybe even Deluxe) but it seems a bit too early for this.
I would buy that. I suspect that would need its own Kickstarter though, because that would be a very expensive book to print at 250+ pages.
As far as the playtest is concerned, I would like for it to be as open as possible, rather than restricted to backers (even though I will definitely be one). More playtesters means an enhanced quality of the end product, which is what I wish for as a future backer
I agree with this statement, and that will be my recommendation as well.

I hope there will be something for a master of improvised weapons and shields able to use his environment for both defense and offense, even against foes with DR. And benefitting from enhancement bonuses :-)
There is definately improvised weapon support planned. Your comment may spawn a few talents.

I was picturing the teacup scene from Chronicles of Riddick:
"What? You'll kill me with your soup cup?"
"Tea actually."
"What?"
"I'm going to kill you with my tea cup."

You ever watch Casino? The pen scene.

I like the idea of a high-level warrior going up against a Nightwalker, who sunders his weapon of choice and his backup weapon.
The warrior shrugs, swigs a potion, and proceeds to kill the 20-foot tall CR16 undead monstrosity with an empty bottle and a rock.

I hope that possible talents for wielding oversized weapons and possible talents for improvised weapons go together. Hmm, will there be rules for improvised shields as well as improvised weapons, like grabbing a small table and using it to protect your allies? Improvised armor would be a little silly, imagining someone strapping pots and pans to themselves after getting ambushes in a dinner and performing a fighting retreat to the kitchen, as well as arming themselves with a kitchen knife and a ladle...
...also in the silly category, is there anything to allow tossing an ally at an enemy ala Colossus and Wolverine's fastball special? Though I guess that could be a semi-practical way to deal with flyers, lob the grappler at them...
I'm definitely presuming you've got some parkour style fun in the mobility section ala Assassin's Creed, with high levels allowing flight-like benefits as long as there's walls or sufficiently large creatures to jump off of or between...
...and while thinking of leaping off walls, I thought of Mario...will there be a death from above sort of option, where you can make a leap and slam down on the enemy from above for extra damage, or even hop up quite high and do massive damage by jumping on them from atop a building...presuming you don't miss, which would probably be painful?
...mostly jokingly, but since you mentioned Soul Calibur characters earlier in the thread, can we helicopter by whirling around a sword fast enough? ...okay, that probably qualifies as a Legendary talent if so, I imagine. Silly Yoshimitsu...

Dunno if someone asked for it already but I would greatly appreciate abilities that actually reward all the PCs NOT focussing on a single opponent then the next one and so on ad nauseam.
It is a highly unrealistic tactic but one that is highly encouraged by the current ruleset
Same for making running away a more sensible option than fighting to the end in hope of a lucky critical when overmatched

Adam has updated the rest of the team and let us know the Kickstarter should be live within the hour; he's just making sure that the video, graphics, and reward tiers are populating properly and doing last minute editing checks to make sure we didn't make any silly or misleading typos anywhere; wouldn't want to advertise our new book of "marital" combat on Kickstarter if we can avoid it. At least, not until we hit that stretch goal :P
*There is no marital combat stretch goal.

Stretch Goals aren't always revealed until close to when the main product is funded. ^^ I suspect there will be a few, though.
There will definitely be stretch goals, we're just waiting a bit to gauge the current demand and see how quickly the funding builds so we don't over-extend or over-promise. Sometimes stretch goals can really be what bogs down a project if they aren't properly paced, something that more than a few publishers have learned the hard way.
Amongst other things that have been discussed, our most recent stretch goal discussion revolved around a GM toolbox for creating new and classic monsters with combat sphere functionality built in; for example, creating a T-Rex who could use his bite to throw an adventurer into the air before homerun hitting them across the battlefield with his tail. We've got quite a few possibilities lined up, and we'll be unveiling them at a pace that we know we can deliver on without massive delays, and we're going to tailor the ones qe actually decide to introduce based on where we see interest accruing thickest.
