Berselius, you might want to have a closer look at the gorgoros qlippoth. While it may not be a true demon, qlippoth are about as close as it gets, and I think it might cover what you're looking for from a "rock demon". ^_^
(For the record, the gorgoros is probably my favorite of my contributions to Bestiary 6.)

Wannabe Demon Lord |

A creature from Japanese myth that I would like to see but can't remember what it was called. Basically it is a large humanoid shaped monster with one eye, covered in hair, and has no other visible features on it's face.
Do you know where you came across this creature? I don't recognise it and I know a lot of Japanese monsters.

Chromantic Durgon <3 wrote:the Empyreal Lords were miss stattedDo they not still exist as a high-CR category? Do they not have six representatives in Bestiaries, just like the GOOs?
Technically. I've pontificated on this at some length. My main points of contention is good is supposed to be cool, and it can't do that with relatively poor ability scores.
"But doesn't it make sense for non-intellectual demigods to have low Int scores?" Then why not apply that to the demon lords?
"Well of course demon lords have better scores, they have to be badass. Good is dumb! You need morally ambiguous mercenaries to get anything done."
Ah, yes, that notion. I believe we're well-read enough about this that being concise will suffice. Morality and formidably are not mutually exclusive, not in fiction (to use an example from a grimdark series, anything Daenerys does), and certainly not in Pathfinder.
Let's use my favorite empyreal lord as an example. According to Faiths of Purity (p.21), Arshea's favored weapon is the flail as a means of "symbolically turning the slavers’ scourges back on them." Dany'd be proud.

I found that post of yours a while back when I first looked at the emp lords stats, I was already familiar with the Demon Lords and GOOs and its was immediately obvious they were under-powered by comparison.
Its a well written post.
Thank you; glad to be of influence. ^_^

Got my copy of B6, loving it ^_^ and can NOW post on this topic :P
- Reprints of agathions, angels and archons: Only azatas are presented in B6, so getting celestials that were already printed in other cources, would be nice.
- New manasaputras: We got new sahkils, but no manasaputras.
- New inevitables: We got a bunch of proteans in B6... but no inevitable... since B2... and that extra one in Iron Gods...
- New rakshasa: We got... another outsider group that got left with nothing... since B3... and I know that new ones got added in booklets.
- New asuras: We got... another outsider group that got left with nothing... since B3... and I know that new ones got added in booklets. Déjà vu...
- New divs: We got... another outsider group that got left with nothing... since B3... and I know that new ones got added in booklets. Ok, yes, that was intended :P To round up, we've gotten a TON of daemons in B6.
- New lycanthropes: Wereraptors (birds of prey, AP #115), wereserpents, wereprimates and werewolverines would be nice. Oh, BTW, before saying that "since it's a template, you don't need sample creatures", then explain me why B4 had the bat, the crocodile and the shark.
- New entothropes: Werescorpions, werecentipedes and werebeetles could work... and round up the most common vermins in the game.
- New behemoths: We haven't heard of others since B3. Ok, fine, I get that Kaijus, GOOs and other Colossal creatures got more popular, but still.
- New colossi: I thought it would have been a staple since B4, but B6 doesn't have new ones. So yeah, clockwork, bone, coral and crystal colossi would be cool.
- The 5 Divine Beasts: We have the Phoenix, we have the Shen (Dragon), we have the Kirin... can we get the Tiger and the Tortoise now :P ?
- A "dragonborn" race: Aw man, this is getting ridiculous. The half-dragon template in the ONLY remaining B1 template that didn't get an equivalent playable 0HD race. Kobolds are to goblins, and I want the hobgoblin version of those small lizards.
- A half-giant race: I get that we have the ogrekin, but... I believe that there is room for a human/giant hybrid race. Call it Jotun, make it a Titan descendant or even a Gigant offspring, pretty sure they can make something up. BTW, the giant subtype can be applied on creatures of any size. For instance, the canopy troll (AP #116) is a small troll with that subtype.
- A Lawful outsider descendant race: Proteans have the ganzis. Inevitables could build biomechanical beings to act as emissaries or scouts, but those ended up breeding through. The echanatrix was an inevitable hybrid presneted in D&D's Fiend Folio.
- Symbiotic creatures: Parasites, vermins, oozes, whatever, I'd like to see a new breed of creatures that latches into a host, granting it extra abilities in exchange of a physical and/or mental toll.
- 2 extra pages for dragons: Ok, look, I don't think they'll ever reduce the dragons' artworks, which in turn will never leave room for more flavor text. What they could do is rather simple: have 2 extra pages and divide the 5 dragons' flavor texts in 4 columns. Come on now, that seems to be the logical and easiest solution here.

Ever since they added kaiju, i lost interest in behemoths and the spawn of Rovagug.
I would love dragon blooded, fey blooded, and giant blooded 0HD races. But I ask myself after all these years of waiting, if we ever got them, would I be happy with their versions of these races. I dare you to prove me wrong good people at Paizo.
A law based outsider 0HD race would be nice also reprinting the Ganzi as well.
I would love to see stats for Davy Jones and his strange sea creature themed crew if your going by the Pirates of the Caribbean movies anyway.
I would love to see stats for the 4 holy beast (Genbu, Suzako, Byakko, and Seiryu).
As for outsiders, I would like to see more oni, kami, inevitables, manasaputra, azura, and rakshasa.

Things I'd currently like to see:
* The hinted-at evil counterpart to the Manasaputras
* More elementals
* More creatures from positive/negative/shadow/ethereal/astral/Axis/Boneyard/Maelstrom.
* New Gigases
* Example members of some demigod-types that haven't been statted yet. Kyton Demagogues, Primal Inevitables, Protean Lords, and Asura Ranas would probably by my picks, but I'm up for any of the unstatted groups.
* Lawful planetouched
* More psychic creatures
* Some sort of extremely-large CR 20 giant. Tectonic or something.
* Satori, Empusa, Sacred directional beasts
* More Golems (Amber, Ivory, Confectionery would be my top picks for uncovered materials, but I like seeing the esoteric high-end golems too); Colossi too
* Animated toys, an animated spellbook / living tome creature that can cast
* I support the slow, continued translation of Pathfinder / 3.5-open monsters into official PFRPG stat versions. The Azis would probably be my next pick there.
* In the unlikely-under-Paizo's-current-design-philosophy-but-still-stuff-I'd-like-t o-see boat, nonevil undead and eldritch celestials.
* To answer the earlier question in this thread of 'what existing creature would you most like to see expand into a full group of creatures', I'm going with 'Axiomites'. I'd like to see esoteric merged math-entities and higher-order beings of law.

I would like to see more Behemoths, too. Kaiju are cool, but how often do you get to use them, really? Unless they felt like printing Kaiju in the lower 20 and high teens range, more Behemoths would be cool.

Dragon78 |

Naiads are full fey, they are not the fey version of aasimar or tiefling.
I agree we need more creatures from the positive energy plane, astral, ethereal, axis, boneyard, maelstrom, and also dimension of time and dimension of dreams. I would like more creatures from the plane of shadows if they are not undead or have any abilities like ability damage/drain, energy drain, etc. and actually have shadow based powers.
I was so hoping that the mountain giant would be a CR20 colossal giant but that didn't happen.
New Gigas, we haven't even gotten any yet in the hardcover line.
I would prefer they stop making new evil outsider groups.

I'd Like to seem them make the Anaye a distinct group of either evil native outsiders or abberations. But honestly not sure how many other, other than the hinted evil Manusaptras, groups of evil outsiders need development. Would rather see more neutral outsider groups.
For things in the setting that still haven't been translated over, Azi and Gigas would be my top choice.
Although my number one "request" would be to have future Bestiaries have a rotating developer who makes all the shots, much like James Jacobs did with B6. I'd love to see the contents of a Bestiary Adam Daigle and Wes Schneider individually oversaw.

Here's some mythological creatures from Malta, most of which are new to me.
Apparently there is a whole book on Maltese mythical creatures, aptly called The Maltese Bestiary, and I have ordered it.

as a offshoot of the Bestiary 6 thread, I would like to see more LN/N/CN outsider groups.
My sense is that, in general, far more people gravitate towards being somewhere on the neutral range of alignment then either very evil or very good. So outsiders who are neutral in my mind should have the greatest variety. Also, unlike say good, which can be hard to use in a non-evil campaign, N outsiders can be used more easily as antagonists.
So perhaps some ideas:
LN outsiders associated with knowledge: These are outsiders who form from petitioners who spent their life in the study of different aspects of reality. Different types could be created for different disciplines (History, Theology, Biology, Cosmology, etc)
N Outsiders associated with war: Planar mercenaries, these outsiders are professional soldiers more than happy to work with any side, whether it be guarding a bank on Axis to private contracters rescuing souls in Hell for an Empyreal Lord, to acting as the advance guard to a demonic invasion.
N Animal "Kami": Just as Kami are associated with specific natural features, this class of outsider are associated with different animals, and are focused on maintaining ecological balance in the world. Could tap int eh global motif of anthropomorphized animals.
N Magic based Outsiders: Outsider in service to Nethys and other magic focused gods, who focus on the protection of magic and spreading it's use. Could be themed on different schools or branches of magic.
Those are just some ideas off the top of my head...I am sure they could be expanded upon

I'd be down for something like that. Thanks for your faith in me. :)

I would like a N outsider group that powerful beings only interested in playing games or have others play for them. These games could be chess, combat, cards, dice, sports, jousting, etc. whatever the being likes most.
A CN group of outsiders that fit the classic trickster "god" type being whose brand of chaos is not destruction or entropy like proteans but more like messing with society, people, and law and order in general.
I like the idea of a N group based on knowledge.
A N group based on different schools or concepts of magic would be interesting.
A animal focused outsider group, wouldn't that be animal lords?

Huge fan of your Midgard Bestiary! :P

Though I think we definitely received our fill of High-CR-heavy monsters - and with the current roster of official Emperial Lords, Demon Lords, Qlippoth Lords, Horsemen, and Archdevils - I'd still love it if Paizo saved room in B7 for Psychopomp Ushers, as Psychopomps are some of my favorite outsiders, as well as Primal Inevitables and Protean Lords. Let's complete the Mythic-level Outer Planes! Of course, there's still Divs, Kytons, and Sahkils, and probably a couple others that I'm forgetting, but they never felt like part of the family.

Guys, B6 is choke-full of these... pretty sure we can take a break from them in B7. Furthermore, there's a HUGE problem with B6: several creatures cannot be used right away, because of their high CR. They require build-up, and it's like they are almost non-combattant unique NPCs at this point.
It's fine to get high CR creatures, but for B7, they need to tone it down a notch.

I think PP's point was that most of the high CR monsters are also Mythic / can be considered Mythic, remove those and there isn't that many high CR monsters.

Well...the point of this bestiary was to be high level, and to also crank out a lot of major demigods that have been fleshed out. Archdevils and Horsemen have been completely put to bed, and Qlippoth Lords and Great Old Ones are pretty tapped out as well. I'd like to see more demigods in future bestiaries, but maybe only one or two sets. Like the Elemental Lords and the the Queens of Darkness for Bestiary 7. Although in general I do agree that we don't really need quite as high a number of high level threats in the next book.
