I have a quick question- I'm thinking about subscribing for Mummy's Mask after events conspired to cause me to sit out Wrath of the Righteous last year. I see that its releasing in October, but I haven't seen a lot of previews for it yet. I was wondering when the deadline (if there is one) to start subscribing is in order to get everything. I'd like to learn a bit more before I commit to it since I live overseas.
Really enjoyed Skull & Shackles a ton, and I'm excited for the Mummy theme.

Deadline would be until Adventure Deck 2 ships in November. After AD2 ships, your only starting options for the subscription will be AD2 and AD3, thus meaning you miss out on the base set and character add-on deck (the character add-on is what contains the promos, the base set does not). You can pick the base set up locally and start your subscription with the character add-on deck to save a ton on overseas shipping.

..and you really, really want to do it that way.
Earlier this month I thought to myself "Hm, Mummy's Mask should be coming out very soon, I should renew my subscription so I don't miss out on the promos."
Little did I realise that I had forgotten to cancel my subscription after Wrath ended and Paizo had already billed me for - and shipped - the base set. Add on import duty and handling fee and the total for one freaking base set is in excess of £110! I can buy two - maybe three - base sets for that price within the UK.
I guess Paizo never did figure out an automatic subscription option that doesn't include the base set :(

Ouch :(
Only advice I can offer is that you should check the email that paizo sends things to. A week or so before things start shipping, you should get an authorization email showing you everything shipping as part of your subscription. If it looks wrong, you have that week to contact Customer Service to adjust things for you before your card is charged and things are shipped out. So, you could at that time get them to remove the base set from your order, but you need to be quick about it.

In the past, promo cards and their release methods/dates have been listed in the FAQ for the adventure path:
Rise of the Runelords
Skull & Shackles
This didn't happen with the Wrath of the Righteous promo cards (if they're listed, Paizo used a different method).

Thank you for the response!
For my current subscription order, it says it is including "Pathfinder Adventure Card Game—Promo Card: Hypogeum". As long as that is the only one for deck 2, then I'm good. Was just hoping to see a list to confirm.
Thanks again!

Yeah...what is it? Is it a promo location card? A promo barrier? Sounds interesting. But it is a promo, which makes it inherently cool anyways.
Those were exactly the same questions and thoughts going through my own head...
I didn't figure it'd be a location, since you can't just shuffle those in and use them in any game... You'd have to use it for homebrew scenarios.

Since hypogeum is an underground temple, maybe it's a location *inside* a location; an optional side trip that you shuffle into another location and build it if you get to it.

Well, unless it's like Valais Durant, the Promo Cohort, and can automagically include itself into any scenario where there are locations or some such, I doubt you're going to find that any of the locations in the normal decks will call for shuffling in a sub-location...
Maybe it's a Promo Defensive Stance! Being underground during a siege sounds awesome...

That's my guess - a promo location that can be substituted in, perhaps only during specific designated scenarios?

I once made a "Loot" location for a home-brew character for the GF, that could be displayed to replace any permanently closed location. If the promo is something similar - it won't need any scenario-specific conditions (which, let's face is it, would be a precedent for a promo card, and pretty weird - "hey, here's a cool card, but you can only use it a few times during the adventure...")
On the other hand, if we assume a more conservative design - it could very well be a "movement power" Barrier, similar to the Abyssal Shortcut. (Ex: Wis/Survival 8 - "If you defeat this barrier, you may immediately move and explore your location; If undefeated, move to a random location and end your turn.)
Edit: Incidentally, the original Hypogeum's wiki article reads like the fore-father of all RPG dungeons...
