Is there a spell that allows the caster to "See in Darkness" as the universal monster ability?

Thanks!

Yes, there is. It's called "darkvision. It is in the Pathfinder core rule book.

I don't think the Darkvision spell lets you see in supernatural darkness, like that created by Deeper Darkness. The See in Darkness ability does.

I don't know if there's a spell that lets you, but the Elixir of Darksight does.

Edited to add: The Rod of Shadows also lets you see in supernatural darkness, and it uses True Seeing in its construction. The True Seeing spell doesn't specifically call out supernatural darkness, but I think you can make a strong case that it's intended to work in supernatural darkness.

Also true seeing, it's higher level but also available to more classes (and further vision range than eyes of the void, but it also costs 250gp to cast).

Echolocation

True seeing does specifically call out supernatural darkness.

This works, but has 60' limitation, whereas the monster ability is unlimited range for seeing through all darkness.

Truesight with 120' range is the better but more expensive alternative if you want it from a spell.

This is kind of what I was noticing. I was thinking of putting together a 5th level Sorcerer/Wizard 4th level Cleric spell that is essentially a "See in Darkness" spell as per the Monster Ability. Not all of the fun extra of true seeing but longer duration and no range limitations.

Might poke around with this a bit to see what I can come up with.

Thanks! :)

as far as i know the only ways to get see in darkness are to be a very lucky variant tiefling, have a rod of shadows, get the limited version from elixir of darksight, or be a monster race that has it

There's also greater shadow eye piercings. And Blood of Shadows introduced at least one archetype for rogue that gets it.

oh nice, 6 ways

Fetchlings can take feats to grant them see in darkness.

Just did a search for "See in Darkness" in Blood of Shadows. There's two methods:

1. Advanced rogue talent. (Darkvision prerequisite.)
2. Dusk Knight Paladin archetype.

The unchained summoner shadow eidolon also gets it, if synthesist is still a thing for unchained summoners I guess that's probably a back door method.

That doesn't do what you think it does.

ok, 10 ways then. maybe i was only looking for ways that my shadow patron witch would qualify for before

Heavens Spirit Shamans get see in darkness at level 8. Spirit Guide Oracles who choose the Heavens spirit get it at level 15.

Scarab Sages

Tiefling so also gain the "See in Darkness" ability by taking the Fiend Sight feat twice.

I see the eye piercings are a new type of magic item introduced in Champions of Corruption; are they intrinsically evil to make/get/have/use?

A Devilbound Creature Template can also do this: it's sort of a more permanent version of the Divine Vessel above.

(although this is probably more for NPCs than PCs, unless you want to use it in Way of the Wicked or Cheliax Path...?)

Yeah, baby! A Kitsune that has Darkvision!!

I am dissapointed no one has mentioned the Hell Knight Commander PrC. They get it in Infernal Knight at PrC lvl 9
