DM Mittean's example of RAW vs. Reaction system

Play-by-Post

This is a round by round to show the difference between RAW and my Reaction system.

The characters I will be using are Valeros, Sajan, Merisiel and Seoni. They will all be 7th level.

The fight is in a 40 ft. by 70 ft. room.

They will be fighting Kimandatsu, an Ogre-mage Fighter 1 from Night of Frozen Shadows, and 4 Frozen Shadow Ninjas (12 in my rules.)

I make a few Feats free (Power attack). If they come up I will mention it, and what I replaced them with.

The House Rules I will be using are:
- My HP system (Base class+10+Con score at level 1) & Reserve HP.
- My Bigger, badder, more rules. This utilizes more minions, and Lieutenants and bosses are more powerful with more HP, and Larger sizes have more HP.
- Active defense.
- Armor as DR.
- Removing iterative attacks.
- My reaction rules. This is basically rolling a CMD instead of a Defense check, and reacting with whatever Maneuver you chose if you beat the attackers roll. This will become more apparent as the demonstration goes on.

- Initiative -
Initiative:
Valeros 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20.
Seoni 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25.
Sajan - 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23.
Merisiel - 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12.

Frozen Shadow ninjas - 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17.
Kimandatsu - 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24.
