(Got Familiar Folio and have a stack of questions.)
1: Can Improved Familiars have Familiar Archetypes?
2: If you are not an arcane spell caster, can you obtain an improved familiar?
3: Does a replacement familiar retain the previous familiar archetype, or as a new creature, can the archetype be changed?
4: If a character has no spells at all, but has taken the Familiar Bond & Improved Familiar Bond, when does a deceased Figment Familiar Archetype reappear?
5: Can a non-spell caster meet Improved Familiar requirements via the Familiar Bond & Improved Familiar Bond granted "wizard levels"?
6: Since it is not an archetype, can a character with Eldritch Heritage granted bloodline power take a Bloodline Familiar in place of their first level bloodline power granted by the feat?
7: Does Catnip work on Catfolk?
8: With only Familiar Bond (feat), can the familiar take the Sage Archetype (seems to be eligible)?

1. Most improved familiars trade away the ability to speak with creatures of their kind, which most familiar archetypes require. So, maybe, but probably not for the combination you want.
2. This is questionable. Using the most strict reading of the rules, no. But the text is loose enough to argue that you can. Ask your DM.
3. I assume the archetype can/must be changed with a change in familiar.
4. This ability works just like the wizard ability, except for where it explicitly doesn't.
5. Same as 2.
6. ... Maybe. I doubt it's the intent. And you would have to do it at first level.
7. Probably not, but ask your DM.
8. Maybe. Definitely if all of the trades of the archetype are available to the lesser version. Otherwise you should be able to add an archetype when you get the improved bond.

"At 1st level, a sorcerer, bloodrager, or any other character with one of the following bloodlines can choose to gain a bloodline familiar."
Because the feat isn't using a class level, you have to assume it's using character level, which would need to be 1st.Murdock Mudeater |

That's a fair point.
