Hey, John!

Hey, Cal! 'Sup?

Little kitten is doing well. She is teething so she chews on everything. She is starting to walk on all fours (instead of crawling on her belly), so I suspect we will have our hands full as she becomes increasingly mobile.

Not much. Just looking for reasons to avoid washing dishes.. LOL

Cal,

There are no reasons. Just the idea "I don't want to wash the dishes." Which is okay as long as you're willing to deal with the consequences of such a decision.

The actual reason I haven't is my bipolar depression has been on the low swing for nearly a month now. I managed to do three things today; washing the frying pan was one of them.

Hi John.

Only a month? Somewhere between late May and early July I washed some dishes that were lying unwashed since last year.

My GF won't allow that to happen.. lol.. if it gets that bad she'll do them.

Hi Drejk.

I ate lunch at the Billy Goat Tavern. Good times (and fae curses!)

While I too have been on a low swing/downward into the darkness depression, I find that it's not doing the dishes that is something I find annoying or can't do. It's just mowing the freaking lawn. :p

Mowing the yard and vacuuming the house are my "Do I have to do them?" chores.

I actually don't mind the vacuuming. Mostly because it gets up all the dog hair. That and I have a decent vacuum cleaner.

In my case, I put it off for so long that it kicks up a lot of dust and other stuff, so my allergies get messed with. I also think that I don't like the noise very much. As for mowing the yard, I live in the south where 8 months out of the year it is in the 90s, so the heat is the main reason.

Oh wow. That is right. 8-14-2000 is my hire date with my current company. So I just passed my 18 year mark with my company. May I have another 18 years more here.

Just a heads up.

New ransomware arrives with a hidden feature that hints at more sophisticated attacks to come

Remember, back up your system often. I suggest backing up every month to week, depending upon how much you do and how important. Use a rotating system. Use at least two different backup mediums. And keep a set off site in case of emergency. Example - I back up my system every month. I use a set of CDs and memory sticks. I have 6 sets of each. I number them backup # 1 through # 6. That is a total of 6 sets of disks and memory sticks. I keep the most recent at home and shift the second most recent over to my Mom's house. I do the same for her. Things to back up - Documents, photos, your favorites list from IE and Firefox / Chrome, any programs that are not easy to replace, CD keys, ect. I also highly suggest getting a battery backup for all computers. I plug that into a good power strip. Make sure that you register both so if your get struck by lightning, you might get your computer replaced. Having said that, I actually suggest just unplugging your computer during a thunderstorm or if you leave the house for more than a day.

How to back up a computer

What is the best way to back up a computer?

Testing testing

Hmmm. Crazy posting issues

You're coming through loud and clear.

Something is awry. I’m going to check a few things

AAAAANNNNNDDDD we're back.

Also while I might be considered living in the south, it still doesn't stop the grass from growing if I don't mow it.

As for the noise, eh. I hate things that are much noisier than my vaccum cleaner. Like fireworks.

"Hey! We have transmission issues with Monkey One! Get a crew on that ASAP! Make sure it's not on our end!"

Whats the best way to back up a computer?,...

,... Just put it in reverse. :)

I like the easy ones. Ask me another!

Yes, BUT in the south since its so hot all the darn time, (Like 11 out of 12 months) The grass can, and does, grow for 12 months of the year! Unless it gets unseasonably cold for a spell.

;P

I live for those cold snaps.

Yup. I was right. A few things were wrong.

Didja get 'em fixed?

I'm awake at 3:30 am. I don't think it's because I slept over 18 hours last night and yesterday, though. It's pain that woke me and now I'm hoping I can overcome it and get back to sleep. Otherwise it will be a long, long day of consciousness, one of my least favorite states of being... lol

Well, it was on Paizo’s end, considering they were down for several hours unexpectedly. It started with being unable to quote people without triggering an error screen, and escalated from there. At the end I got error screens for any post. Then Ratty McDroneface showed up

Huh, I'm obviously NOT logging in enough, as I never noticed they were down this time. ;P

"What's taking so long? Why don't we have Monkey One back online yet? Whattya MEAN they're all on break!?!? There's no breaks in ONLINE! Get 'em back to work! We've got to let Monkey One know they're heading straight into an <ERROR 404> storm! Move it! move it! move it!"

<Embarrassed silence,...>

"Oh. He's back already? And he weathered the storm just fine,... Um,... Good job everyone! Smoke 'em if ya got 'em!"

Huh, again.

Immediately after posting that, I tried to do a reply/quote post, and I got the lil goblin of PC doom on every page I tried to load after. :/

Seems the Goblins aren't, quite, all kicked out of the system yet. ;P

Bugs, man. Bugs.

Yeah the code is still a bit wonky it seems. I’m going to try a few updates, but we’ll see what happens

They seem to be ok with quoting today, but the speed of opening threads seems very 2000-ish

It's the humidity.

Hi, everyone!

Ignore the above exclamation point. I was trying to delete the second post of a double post when the site crashed.

Sokay John. I ignore lots of things...*falls into a pit...and floats upward* :p ;)

Also while it might be warm all through the 12 months, I prefer at least 3-4 cold ones to keep killing the bugs.

Still a bit of up and down today

More up than down, I hope. :)

Right now my down is the fact the grass is still wet and trying to mow it because Mom wants it mowed...even though it's not yet like 6 inches high.

Hi, Tom.

Hi John! I hope it's dry where you are. Cause it sure isn't here! *rubs the sweat from his brow*

Nope. Raining for hours, now.

"I don't want to scare you or nothin', but it's been raining for thirty-nine days and thirty-nine nights." -- Sgt. Mike, to his buddy with whom he's sharing a foxhole which is full of water.

"With Sgt. Mike" was a comic in the Vietnam edition of the "Stars and Stripes" newspaper during the Vietnam War.
