On my mother's side, I can find nothing, because the family forenames are James, John, Andrew, and Isobel, while the surnames are Smith, Thomson, and Wilson. Or rather, I find too much. I can't tell one from the other!
My father's side of the family is old-school Irish through-and-through, which means that the names have approximately the same amount of variety as a gathering of the Roman Senate. It wasn't until my father's generation that the names started getting a little more varied (and even then, not by much). Before that, you were named either Michael, Thomas, Simon, John, or Patrick (for the men); or Catherine, Mary, Mary-Catherine, Julia, or Ann, with very few exceptions.
One generation was born in Northern Ireland, then they came to their senses and headed for the New World. Can't turn them up in the Northern Irish records to save my life.
Likely due to the aforementioned Dublin Archives fire of 1922. The archives would have contained records from both territories, given that the official Partition had only just taken place in 1921.

The lack of allergies is winter's only redeeming quality.
Except in South Louisiana. Obviously.
Where the f@#$-in' grass grows 24/7/365.
No matter how cold it does or does not get any-freakin-where else! :P
MY wife is from NO as well. :)
(Well, Kenner, actually, but it amounts to the same thing.) ;POnce married I moved to NO, (Because I didn't realize that marrying an NO girl meant that you weren't allowed to leave. Except for a hurricane)
Oh, hello Katrina! Good bye Katrina! ;P
SO we've ended up in Lafayette, LA. That's just an hour West of Baton Rouge. :)
And yes, I usually end up needing to mow my lawn every month of the year. :(
Whether or not I actually DO that is another story of course,... :)

In double-checking and cleaning up the family tree, I had to bid farewell to Harald Hardratta as an ancestor. There's no evidence beyond people's fancies on ancestry.com. Boy, do those folks get click-happy!
I untangled the mess where one of my female forebears gave birth to a son 100 years before she was born. Yeesh, people, read the dates! You skipped a few generations!
I still haven't figured out how my great-great-great grandfather was born two years after his mother died. Might be time for the dhampir template.
Did any of your ancestors mention a lanky fellow, rather talky, always meddling, who waved a sonic wand and claimed he traveled in a blue box?

I should do Ancestry.com sometime.
My family always insisted my maternal grandmother was a recent descendant of Charles Steinmetz. It didn't take much digging to discover that he had no children. Riddle me that one.
(He could be a relative, but is certainly not an ancestor.)

It's too early to say for me. I have some travel plans in August so it will all depend on the dates.

Better than an endless loop of Bolero. Or it might be an endless loop already. Seems like it.

Bastards? We've a lot of those in my family.

I'm my father's youngest bastard.

My ancestors lived on a Hebredean island off the coast of Scotland. I'm the distillation of generations of Scandinavian pirates , rapists, and murderhobos. Bastardry is in my genes, lol

Always possible, but seems unlikely from what I have gleaned about his life.

This guy has proven to me that primitive does not mean stupid. I am amazed at some of the stuff that he is doing. Our ancestors were not stupid. Not at all.

Ancestery,
what we know is from Ancestry Proof records from Nazi time, my grandparants on both sides had to proof that they had no jewish blood to become married.
Male side, farmers and smiths for at least 8 male generations in our village (with wives from various villages in the area) the last 4 generations in my house

mothers side is on the male line from Mainz through Danzig (Gdanzk) to Sternberg today Šternberk in the Chech Republik in the former Sudetenland where hemarried into the family of my grandma which had a restaurant there.
the family and my infant mother had to flee after the war and finally ended up in my area.

far from it.
I would like to see other environments done. Not everyone lived in the same environment.

Wow. Four generations. I couldn't even tell you where my great-grandparents lived. Except vaguely in the Boston area.
The genetic side are a little better. There's a family farm in Cape Breton. Cousins have it still. It was a land grant from the Battle of Louisburg

If the bus is taking I-90 through New York State, there's a good chance she'll be passing through my neighborhood.
That's a long f%#@ing bus ride...

Not so good: spent most of the morning having blood work done at the hospital trying to figure out what's wrong with me. As part of my preparation for having blood drawn, I had to miss two doses of my medications, and now I'm wide awake in the middle of the night having simultaneous panic & allergy attacks.
