Sword Saint Samurai question.

I noticed something strange about the sword saint archetype. it says at third level that a sword saint gains the Brutal Slash ability that replaces the Mounted Archer ability despite the fact that the samurai doesn't gain the Mounted Archer ability till level 4.

So what level would a sword saint gain this ability?

Archetypes are funny like that. Sometimes they replace abilities gained at different levels. You get brutal slash at 3rd, as it says.

does this happen a lot then? I thought that it might be a publication mistake in need of errata haha.

I wouldn't say a lot, but enough that it's not odd.

It happens. The number is correct, and there is a good handful of others that do this. You'll gain it when it says you do, and lose the archery.
