Ahoy maties!

I am planning on running a game on a private forum with a small group (I am thinking maybe 2-4 players). The world will involve a lot of island hopping through dangerous, unexplored waters with pirate raids, giant sea monsters and exploring weird islands being a staple. It'll be high magic and high fantasy on the high seas! If that sounds like your thing, lets talk. Due to the nature of playing by post, I am looking for mature players who are more into role playing than roll playing. Space is limited so send me a character concept (fyi starting level is 3, will give more chargen details when you are accepted) and any questions you might have.

Arrr'll be waiting!

Dot for interest. I love me some pirates!

Yaaaar! Welcome to the recruitment pool :)

PCs will be fighting pirates, hopefully not becoming them though ;)

What do you think of the concept of a sea hag (CR 4) with the Young template (-1 CR) as a player character. I've always wanted to play a sea hag in a seafaring campaign! This would be a changeling a few months after her transformation, looking to forge herself into a pirate legend!

I have this character who I would like to submit for consideration. She was part of a Skulls and Shackles pbp that ran aground.

She could be a pirate hunter just as easily as she was a pirate.

I am submitting her for now so that you can see her concept and backstory. I will roll her stats back to third level when I have some free time later today.

Sorry, while I dont want to say no to the idea, the party will have to interact with towns and a straight up hag will have a hard time with those. Horrific appearance would make NPC interactions silly (not to mention sabotaging your team mates). Beside that, I am trying to stick to core races only.

If you don't mind modding the idea a little, you could play a human (or whatever core race) sorcerer (or some other likely spontaneous spell caster) and say she has some sea hag blood in her and that is where her spell talent comes from. It would make for good rp later down the line as her talents develop. Maybe other sea hags seek her out and want to recruit her and she has no idea why? Maybe she thinks these sea hags want to eat her and she has spent her life thinking they have been hunting her? Seems like a pretty good reason to want to take to the seas to me. I also give out goodies for well-written backgrounds. I might be persuaded to throw in a free custom trait or two to represent your sea-hag blood.

cool. mail it to me when you can and I'll take a look

Oooor I can just look at your profile. that works too... didnt realize that was a thing. lol

Dotting for interest as well.

Snapshot concept would be of a sea/storm priest. Will this be a PF mechanic setting or other?

I have a concept that might function in such a game.

A once shepherd on the hunt for a dragon. Said dragon ate all of the shepherd's sheep, and now he seeks vengeance together with his aging ram. First, however, he has to learn the secrets of dragon slaying. This would be (part of?) his story.

I imagine him as someone of viking-ish heritage of the hunter class wielding a shepherd's staff (quarterstaff)

So far he only knows that he will need allies. His only source on dragon slaying mentions a "sword/lance" a "shield" and a "mount" – allegory for companions.

Dotting... I, too, love me some seafaring adventure.

Lekkric18 here.

Yeah, I used to be a pirate, what of it? Of course you don't recognize my name, you think I'd use my real name for pirating? "Oh no, it's Morley, the terrible pirate!" "You sure? sounds like somebody's butler..."

I'm not an evil guy, I just fell into that life as a kid - ran away from home, y'see, my old man was a real piece of work - and couldn't find a way out. Now I've been retired for a few years and I miss the smell of salt air and the wind on my face, so here I am again, looking to set sail. Let's have some fun!

This is a very short, roughed out backstory, but it gives you a general idea of who Morley Hastings is. I actually have no idea of what class just yet, I just thought the crusty old sailor would be a fun character in this type of campaign. Some type of buffing character I'd think, to go with the idea of being an old sea captain who's used to pumping up his crew for a fight.

Are guns a thing in your world? I have an idea for a gunslinger that was disgraced from the 'guild' if there was one or something similar. He was responsible for an accident which left several dead.

In the part of the world the PCs will be playing primitive cannons exist (and people without proficiency in them are more likely to blow themselves up than their targets). Personal firearms are largely unknown though.

Skinwalker Ranger looking for some adventure on the high seas! You can never have too much wereshark. I haven't played a game on this site yet, however this wouldn't be my first PbP. This sounds like an exciting premise, though!

I'm interested. I'd like to get an unchained rogue going. Will you be allowing/using Unchained classes?

Thanks everyone for your interest in the game. Unfortunately all slots have been filled. Happy gaming!
