Selling your soul for power.

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Other than via the Damnation feats, are there rules for the mechanical aspect of selling your soul?

There's a "Devilbound" creature template, to represent infernal contracts. I believe it's in Bestiary 4.

If you look to 3rd party stuff, I believe the Pathfinder version of Green Ronin's Advanced Bestiary (Which Paizo has a habit of pulling from, even in their APs) has a template for demonic and daemonic pacts much like the Devilbound template that Brew Bird mentioned.

Well hello there!

I am given to understand you have a mortal soul in your possession that you would like to cash in on.

If that is the case we can help you with this transaction. Our standard deals are 3 wishes, or the services of a fiend for your life time, dependent on the soul in question. However if you act now you could get our special of the month. Instead of an upfront payment of three wishes or the outside power of the services of one of our fine number instead we can help you achieve your goals by yourself!

Yes sir, just sign on the line and we can invest you with the power of Hell itself!

Now we realize that the selling of your soul is a big step, so if you are uncomfortable with such we still have other deals, we can raise your dead lover, heal your sick grandmother, or provide arcane learning at one of our fine institutes at much lower fares than other outsiders charge, and of course all such deals are guaranteed! Bound in an iron clad contract guaranteed to provide exactly what is listed, with no extra fees or conditions (that you do not agree to before hand of course)!

I recommend The Deluxe Guide to Fiend Summoning and Faustian Bargains, by Necromancers of the Northwest.

This is a sourcebook specifically tailored to answer the question of what mortals can gain in exchange for dealing with fiends, and covers the topic with great depth and very interesting mechanics. Moreover, it provides stats for all of the demons from the Ars Goetia!

Totally awesome template, no GM in their right mind would ever allow a PC to have it, but I use it on my NPC cultists frequently...

Great way to have a low-level villain who just KEEPS COMING BACK! :D

Selling your soul for power is always a good idea. Is there any other use for a soul? And besides, escaping hell is one of the best campaign settings for high level play ever.
