My favorite character ever was a Preacher-style... preacher. Nothing like roleplaying a pastor with a .45 taking down those evil Legionnaires and being a goodie two-shoes! Well, apart from playing as a chainsaw-wielding, chem-dropping maniac that just caused chaos for the fun of it. Or my Elvis-impersonator who spent most of the game talking his way out of problems or else letting Veronica punch stuff to death.
I have a question though: which is your favorite DLC? Gunrunner's Arsenal and the gear packs do not count!

Honest Hearts for story and atmosphere.
Old World Blues would work a lot better for me as a Fallout 3 DLC.
Lonesome Road has great voice acting for Ulysses but it's... trying too hard.
And then you have Dead Money...
I would cheat and say that I like it all, which I do. Even if the rest of the content of Honesty Hearts sucked, which it didn't, Joshua Graham would carry it to the top spot for me. He's just an amazing character.
My favorite is easily Old World Blues.
I used to really like Lonesome Road but the last time I did it it was beyond boring.
My least favorite is probably Honest Hearts, super long, super boring, and super preachy it's got everything I don't like in my video games.
I refuse to speak of the last one.
Needless to say, Mothership Zeta it ain't.
I really loved the DLCs for Fallout 3, they were all awesome.

Dead Money. It's thematically the strongest, and I enjoy all the characters. It's far from perfect, but I love it nonetheless.
Lonesome Road has the strongest atmosphere and a feel of the epic, which makes it a fitting finale for the courier.
Tied for second is Old World Blues. Old World Blues is hilarious, and exploring the Big Empty is fun when I'm so inclined. I also like the big twist at the end that
Finally, in solid last Honest Hearts. I understand that Obsidian went with more Fallout 3 quests because the more complex stuff broke the engine, but still. Combined with an absolutely baffling moral choice at the end...well, Joshua Graham and the Survivalist were really cool. Ultimately, while not nearly as good as the others it faced some stiff competition, and stands well on its own merits (although I do wish it connected more to the others).

Is it bad to have had my speech patterns compared to Dr. Borous in real life. "In playing GOD, we have CREATED A MONSTER!" I love how overly dramatic he is.

I think part of why I like it best is that it ties more intimately to the war in the Mojave than any of the others except Lonesome Road- and I'm downright glad that it links to the main story, rather than to the rough triptych the others form. Not everything needs to be about Ulysses and the Courier- part of what I like about New Vegas as compared to the other entries in the Fallout series is that while the Courier absolutely shakes the Mojave, there is an impression that things would happen with or without the Courier's surviving Benny's ambush. Honest Hearts deals with what a life of war can do to a person, and the impact that war has on others around them. In story as built upon the clash of armies as New Vegas, that's a distinctly connected side-tangent... there are "civilians" of a sort in Honest Hearts, while every single living thing in the other DLCs either volunteered or got conscripted to be a dangerous threat.
Old World Blues is... "here's where all this crap came from!" It's essentially a detour from the central plot to go indulge in more of Fallout 3's science themes, rather than New Vegas' military and political undercurrent...
Dead Money is... only linked to the wider story of New Vegas by the most tenuous of threads. Especially since
Lonesome Road plays more with the war, but its narrative and mechanical hiccups keep me from embracing it as fully as Honest Hearts.

Finished the Project: Nevada game (independent, as always.) It was fun, and a nice change of pace, but I think I'm going back to vanilla (save a sprint mod.)
EDIT: Also fough Rawr for the first time. Three flares to the head and half a magazine of Minigun and he was down for the count. One of these days I'm gonna assault the Promentary.

The end of the Bunker ate up my Riot Gear. Level 3: all points in Energy Weapons. Should probably also invest in Explosives.

Typing this at level 8, having launched the missile. It's...certainly an experience.
Haven't quite figured out how to handle Deathclaws yet. Survived the High Road with a flare gun and running like hell.

Survived the Ashton Missile Silo courtesy of the Industrial Hand and a Stealth Boy. Still don't know how I'm going to handle the second Tunneler section.

Final Stretch:
After 20+ attempts, finally killed Ulysses by knocking him into a pit. Decoded to nuke everyone. After what I'd been through, it seemed fitting.
Ended at level 11, vilified by both factions.
Final thoughts come tomorrow.

Many A True Nerd did his own Level 1 Lonesome Road. The series is almost finished up, now. Just thought I'd post it.
I've started a new play through, as Jojo Applesauce, a travelling courier with a bullet lodged in his head and a song in his... Not head.
I took wild wasteland... And some other starting perk.
So far Jojo has been gecko hunting, and I kept Deputy Beagle from trying to puss out on me.
First lesson Jojo learns, shotgun shells are NOT infinite.
Which is disappointing because Jojo also learned shotgun shells are really good at making geckos explode in a pile of gore.
Now Jojo is sad. :-(
If anyone is wondering, Jojo Applesauce was the first thing that popped in my head as I sat there with my six year old so he could make a character (he doesn't play the game, he just messes with the character building) and he couldn't think of anything, he laughed at it so it was established.
He has bright red wind swept hair with huge mutton chops and James Hetfield mustache, currently wearing the sheriffs duster and hat.
Doc nailed Jojo's brain exam, explosives, repair, and speech.
Jojo wonders what else he knows...

Jojo has also learned when viper gunslingers group together he saves on dynamite.
Even though he has enough to go around.
