Yeah. Technology Guide, Arcforge... these things will likely be used together.
I'm gonna have to read up on the tech guide aren't I?
Its free on the SRD. But if you like it buy it. We're trying to unlock Ultimate Technology before third parties take over all the concepts that could come out of it.

We're going to ensure that you have all the materials you need to use Arcforge included in the book, but it might not hurt to be familiar with the Technology Guide since Arcforge does have materials intended to be used side by side with those in TG.

So, Ssalarn, will the new Arcforge: Technology Expanded book have something similar to the Technomancer PrC that utilizes psionic powers (particularly as a power source) instead of arcane spells ? I would be very interested in something like that-

I hadn't seen an update so I was just wondering how were things coming along with the project?
I've been playtesting a few potential changes for the way the mechs work and also working on some changes for the other project I'm in the lead on for DSP, Tzocatl, so there's been a bit of a delay, but updates for both should be up by Friday, if not earlier.

With the rush to see the Aethera kickstarter get funded, I've been neglecting this important project as well.
Just wanted to let you know that I hadn't forgotten Arcforge. Looking forward to that update!
Sorry about the delay. I had the opportunity to take a contract for some government work that will keep a roof over my head come up very suddenly and it has absorbed most of time (as well as severely limiting my access to the internet), with the excess time recently going to fix a fence and window that got damaged during last week's massive windstorm. I have vowed to lock myself in my office tomorrow and try and get some design work done.

Lots of things that I love here and the ideas are amazing!
However, I wanted to start with some of the concerns:
1. Psi-tech is already in the Pathfinder world with their latest release of Occult Realms. There's a whole chapter based on the idea using that naming convention.
2. The cores are used in the NeoExodus core rule structure and Iron Kingdoms - Full Metal Fantasy.
3. Mechs are also already written up in both D20 Mecha and Iron Kingdoms - Full Metal Fantasy.
With that said here is my input on options/ideas for continuing to move this forward:
For leveling purposes of the Mech - which many people have asked about or voiced concern on how it would level, take a look at a lot of the content that has already been published within the Pathfinder Realm:
Synthesist Archetype for Summoner in Ultimate Magic
Construct Rider Archetype for Alchemist in Cohorts and Companions
Promthean Archetype of Alchemist in Occult Adventurers
For Mech modifications, you could take a look at the evolutions that Eidolons choose from, or additions that your Astral Constructs get to choose when they are created.
Another source could be the additions one could add by spending construction points to their animated object first listed in Ultimate Magic.
Also, Sean Reynolds wrote something up for a robot variant of Summoner in his Robomancer guide.

I am very passionate about this subject/line of progression, and I would love to see this project completed!
I have been looking for ways to get a progressive rule set in place for a mech style suit/power armor that wasn't just an animated item in place for some time.
Sure, everyone can house rule something, but it's always looked at as breaking/twisting the rules. It would be nice to have something published that can be referenced that is Pathfinder compatible.
Please keep up the good work!!!

To be fair, just because it is published doesn't make it any less 'house ruled', even PFRPG is essentially house rules for 3.5 in the end. It isn't any less (or more) broken or twisted because it is published.

The difference between 101 Combat Feats and Megafeats Revisited.
But Dreamscarred Press gets by a lot by reputation and the fact that they've so far adapted three different subsystems from the 3.5 era into Pathfinder. I was at the used book store earlier today and took a look at 3.5 Psionics Handbook and Magic of Incarnum, and I have to say DS went above and beyond when it came to adapting these things to Pathfinder. Now we get some mecha atachments too?!

The biggest difference is our DM generally allows published work and very rarely allows house rules.

Wilder needs a really good archetype for using Mechs. I also wouldn't mind seeing an Archetype for combining Mechs together into one big mech.
Reasons?
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers!
Both the Tactician and Dread have options to combine mechs, and I plan on doing a few more like it. Wilder is also on the list.
BTW, sorry for delays, we've been hammered by storms and I've been spending much of my free time trying to keep my house from falling apart. I've literally had to nail down roofing during windstorms that were trying to tear it off, collect shattered pieces of my fence from the neighbors yard, secure the car gate with breaks after the wind caused it to shake violently enough to snap the metal locking bar, and other fun activities. Seems like the weather has mellowed a bit and is mostly just wet now, so I'm working on getting caught up.

EDIT: Less enthusiastic now since those are capstone abilities likely to never get used....
Tactician is getting reworked, and as soon as I finish adding the non-class feature mechs, I'm making "going megazord" his primary shtick. You're not the first to want that coming online earlier, but doing that and keeping it balanced has required a lot of rejiggering of the math.

So far, my favorite has been the circuitbreaker archetype for the cryptic. In fact, I'll be using one for my Marvel Pathfinders "Reign of Winter" campaign to provide a nemesis for one of my PCs.
He'll be replacing the white dragon in "The Shackled Hut" should the players reach that point. I wanted something more technological (steampunk) for a foe and had originally made Logrivich a NE soulbound mannequin. But that didn't work for me. I was all set to just leave the encounter as is in the adventure until I saw your Arcforge post and started looking over the document. Once I came across the circuitbreaker, I knew that I had found what I was looking for. His biped mech isn't very powerful (given that it's level 4 to the pilot's level 8,) but it'll make for an encounter they'll not soon forget.

Just wanted to ask as to when or if the aegis archetype well be added to the playtest download.
As Skylancer4 noted, the holidays are eating up the schedule that was derailed by weather and other issues. I'll try and push an update out before New Year's, but that's going to entail me finding some free time where I can sneak away from guests, in-laws, dishes, etc. and get things sorted and added to the playtest docs.

How I'm expecting to introduce this next month; There are sith and jedi analogues in my campaign setting taking place in space. The Galaxy Rangers and the Sons of the Beast. Both use psionics in much of their practices and it is the core of their philosophies. The rangers believe that sentient beings are supposed to strive towards preparing themselves for the passage to the next life by defending each other and being kind. The welfare of the afterlife supersedes all and one must nurture their soul with benevolence to properly ascend. The Sons believe that the material plane is the goal and core of life and as such worship control, decadence and theft. They thrive to amass power in the material world in order to claw their way back if they would pass with psionic lichdom being the ultimate goal. Because they believe that the mind is the conduit between the earthly and the ethereal. and so use psionics to attack each other.
To differenciate them from other Espers(what I'm calling psionic creatures in this setting.) I'm going to use Archforge.
If I could ask for advice, what's a good way to differentiate the Son's psionics from the Ranger's? My first instinct was to make all the Son NPCs Dreads, and the Rangers Psychic Warriors. Of course they both use Laser torches because it combining it with a psicrystal means that they can deliver touch powers with a weapon and still have it resolve as a touch attack.

Or do they just look different? All you really have to do is have the visual component reflect the aura of the user...the Sons will naturally have the colors of darker emotions, the Rangers that of brighter and more benevolent ones. So, the guy throwing out psi powers with black and red haloes contesting against the guy with gold and white ones probably isn't a good guy.
Those haloes probably are infamous enough, like Sith Red lightsabers, to identify them on sight.

I meant mechanical or equipment different. For example; while I was gone I was thinking about having all the Sons put psicrystals into cybernetic implants.

Dreads for the Beast NPCs could work very well, particularly since the class has such "Sith-y" flavor to begin with (my Dark Tempest was a Soulknife/Dread).
I know that Sith alchemy and alchemical swords was a fairly defining thing in the expanded universe, perhaps the lower level SoB grunts could use alchemically treated swords instead of psicrystal enhanced laser torches.
You could also look at using the Psychic Warrior as a base for both factions, but have the SoBs use things like the Assassin and Feral Warrior paths while the rangers use styles that can be presented as more refined.

My life has finally begun to restabilize, and there will be an update either Friday or Saturday with some updated rules language, additional archetypes, and a new chapter "Akasha as an Alternative to Cybertech" that will include ways to refluff akashic veils as cybernetic enhancements and some new and refluffed veils like the Jetpack, Micro-missile Array, and Hoverboots.

Just got to say that this type of stuff has made several of my players happy, as while they like fantasy, they really like sci-fi more and as I'm big on science-fantasy, my implementation of even just a few of these options have made them more excited about playing than they have been in a long time.
