Building a Suckerpunch type of character

Advice

I have thought about this for a while and have not come up with a good answer. I had seen the Suckerpunch movie

the giant samurai scene

I thought that this was what I wanted to build. The more I thought about it, I realized I would be best building it in Champions.

I looked at other movies like Kill Bill and Stevan Seagal movies.

So, as the Youtube stuff shows, I am looking for characters that are not in armor but are using swords of one type or another.

I realized too that I shouldn't be set on only one type of sword. Just because the Kill Bill movies are using Katanas doesn't mean I need to use them too.

I have had my own ideas about classes, but I wanted to see what others say. I know there are obvious ones. I suspect there are not so obvious one.

Thanks for any help.

edit:
I suppose it would help if you knew of what I thought of the different classes:
Fighter would work, but I don't think as the style I am thinking of he would get any bonus to AC. Though Light armor and a variety of weapons work fine. He is a Full BAB
I don't know if there is a Light armor Cavalier right off that would fit this idea. Has the Daring Champion really been hurt that much?
The old monk would work with the Temple sword.
The Unchained monk would work also with the Temple sword though I really didn't like what they did with the KI point system.
The Brawler could work with a Temple Sword.
Swashbuckler: It seems obvious that this would fit the idea
Magus Kensai: This seems a natural
Ranger I suppose but they never made a type that was sword only
Ninja: People hate the rogue, so the Ninja in its place?

Liberty's Edge

Some easier ones I can think of:

Kensai Magus - For the extra Weiss Schnee feel. Seriously, she might as well be the iconic for the archetype. Also good when your DM screams "cheese!" at any multi-classed character.

Monk X - A monk with a temple sword does well enough at the trope.

Monk 1/Swashbuckler X - Wisdom to AC to make up for lack of armor. Swashbuckler with some flat AC bonuses and a strong push for dex builds.

Monk [Martial Artist] 1/Barbarian [Urban/Savage] X. Martial artists have no alignment restriction. Urban barbarians can rage for dex. Grab a dex-to-damage feat and go to town. Savage barbarians get bonuses for not using armor as they level. Some slight reflavoring needed (watch this scene for how your rage might look). Can also use unchained barbarian and just apply Savage and/or take Guarded Stance. I actually played this one as a crane style user. Tons of fun and totally bizarre. The standard barbarian with Urban applied actually *gains* AC when raging for dex! I went for Monk 2 to nab evasion for extra "WHAAA?"

UnMonk + 2H Sansetsukuon/Temple Sword + Crane Style.

If you want all of your fights to look like lazy CGI then you're going to need some spellcasting. Probably mirage arcana + persistent image. Bards do get both spells.

Magus is your go-to shonen character generator. Straight magus for buff guys, Kensai for mobility fighters, Hexcrafter for creepy ones.

Invulnerable rager barbarian gets damage reduction equal to half their level, tons of HP, rage powers...

Something to consider.

The style is a little off though.

My ninja build has done some things like this. I have maxed Acrobatics, and with 10th level, jumping DCs were halved. Good for that last giant samurai. While he does wear armor, it is hidden by a glamour. Could also use elven chain. Not sure if celestial chain can be worn hidden or if it also needs the glamour. I can use ki for an extra attack, there is a trick for extra acrobatics [like the gathering swirling berfor baby doll's jump], and I can use ki for extra speed [to run away from the path of bullets]. There is a master trick, Assassinate that can one-shot a monster.

My ninja has taken on several big monsters, and won.

As to movie clips, how about Ultraviolet* as an example?

So far I like the Monk/barbarian idea.
I also like the Glamoured armor. One of the characters in our current game is using that. I can imagine a Steven Seagal type (the guy looks like he has normal clothes but he has mithril breastplate)
I could build a standard magus around that or some other full BAB and not even look it.

May I interest you in the Path of War for all of your crazy wuxia, dueling, maneuvering and combat related goodness?
