Critical Hit while smiting

Rules Questions

I have a paladin in my group with a keen falchion, critical hit at 15-20 x3. Is the smite damage tripled on a critical hit?

Thanks in advance!

Yep.

Yes.

Smite never says that it doesn't multiply on a critical, and since it's a static numeral boost, not a die roll, it's assumed to multiply. You really don't want to be on the wrong end of a smiting paladin.

Thanks for the clarification.
My player did find an archtype that allows for 7 smites a day, so now I'm sure he can play the whole adventure path as a boring solo adventure :-(

This is an aside, but how did he manage to get a x3 on his keen falchion?

Smites only work on evil people.

Is he using a falcata?

Falcata's don't have that large a crit range. they'd max at 17-20
