Gang, I think that everyone may be getting a little lost. This is not just a combat crawl... This is an adventure where you all have to spend some time puzzling things out.

To help you stay on track with what is going on, I've put the two scroll fragments that you've found so far from The Name of the Fox on their own page of the handout.

Big Bird is from an entirely different mythology.... We will not be invaded by Cookie Monster, Grover and Kermit.

(Though that would be a hilarious home brew variant of this scenario.)

Hey Gang, your GM has had a couple of rough days (involving two untimely deaths not in my immediate circle, but still darn close).

It's meant that I haven't been at the top of my game, and that there's been some delays. I didn't mean to leave you all hanging... So let's figure out this combat so that we can move on, and you all can start putting together your clues.

Getting back to the scenario here: I suggest we just leave this worm be and move on to the next area. Perhaps this is one of those encounters designed to waste resources.

Hey Gang --

I think I'm going to take a break for the weekend in this campaign. One of the deaths was a classmate of my daughter, who had suicided. We hadn't interacted much, but I knew him from the library and his parents from various school committees. I've hugged my children so many times in the past few days that they've started beating me off with a stick.

This break will also give you all a chance to reread the posts that I linked to, and discuss in character what you think may be going on, and to decide which direction you want to go next in exploring the basement level.

Hey everyone. I just wanted to say a few things. I wasn't tracking that the book was a Faction Mission, and out of character, I have no intention of ruining it for you. All of my distrust for Zarta is just RP, and part of it is because I half suspect she was "the Fox". Honestly, I thought the book and also the bookmark where just really cool fluff, and something I wanted to explore.

I was angry for a bit, not at anyone, but rather over the whole ordeal, from what seemed to be tailor made to introduce party conflict, at what seemed like it could easily be very conflicting Faction Missions, and also because starting at season 5 (for those who have played for a while), they started to introduce a concept of being rewarded for "being good pathfinders", that is, going above and beyond, such as finding a special treasure we where not told to look for.

I was angry for a little bit, but again, not at anyone, just the circumstances, but I took a little break, talked to others outside the game, and let it go, because it's more important to me that the game goes off and people have fun.

So, I just want to say that in the future, if there is ever an issue like that, my character's hatred of Zarta, or I might be ruining a Faction goal, just let me know. Again, I have no ill feelings against anyone, and no intention of screwing anyone over.

Thanks for the message Archon. No big deal, IMO. I honestly had forgotten the ability to do the mission without secrecy. I would have been disappointed to miss the faction part, but okay with it due to the RP that was happening. Stuff happens, but it becomes the memorable stuff about the game in my estimation.

In my head that's just how the game goes - it wouldn't make sense to change your character's actions for something you may suspect about in an OOC way ;)

Since we are wrapping up now (and out of combats) is it ok if I update my stats to my lew level (which will actually be 6 not 5 - yay GM credits). I'll keep a copy of these stats if I need to do anything. Sorry, just getting ready for Siege of Serpents.

Well I did had a blast as we were having a week-end with teenagers that finish their catechism (I work as a pastor). And Saturday was obviously the day we talked about death. I was dressed with my black pastor's robe (it looks pretty identical to a lawyer's) with the mask of "V" (anonymous), which to my astonishment, nearly no teen knew what it was. We also had a "macabre supper", pretty amusing!
