Yeah, I think the base sets have been good deals in terms of new characters. Going forward, SnS had 7 new classes over RotR and WotR had 7 new classes over both preceeding sets.
So far, for MM we have 5 confirmed new classes over all preceding sets, so it doesn't seem unlikely that the missing character is another new class as well.
Do you think they will release more information at GenCon?
And does anyone know from experience with the earlier sets, how long before release they have to send the sets to the printer? That would be the soonest time for an official preview.

Those who made the Gen Con ACG Seminar may have the information missing from this thread. We talked a lot about the characters in Mummy's Mask :)
So by my, very unskilled, reckoning:
Estra
Yoon
Damiel
Alahazra
Ezren
Zadim
Mystery person
Are the base guys
Someone fighty/armour clad?

Zadim is a Slayer, which is a combination of the Ranger and Rogue. They are quite effective at melee combat, while also being fairly skilled.

Yes, that is what we know so far. But you are raising an interesting point here:
Judging from their rpg classes, none of these characters should have proficiency with heavy armor. Assuming this, either the mystery character is or none of the base set is.
If no one had proficiency with heavy armor, I wonder if the base set will feature heavy armor. I can't recall if there is heavy armor among any new MM armor in the class decks, but having heavy armor in a base set without someone able to use it would be odd.
I'd like to believe that means the remaining character wears heavy armor, but it's all conjecture up to this point.
Maybe keith wants to drop some hints after constantly teasing us? ;)

So, according to the reward of AD6 of SotR, Mavaro is now part of the base set instead of the character add-on deck.
While it doesn't tell us the identity of the mystery person, it certainly seems to shuffle things around.
I hope everything becomes clear once the preview hits the blog.
Well, we've seen a couple of errors in 2-5 and 2-6, I wouldn't go so far as to base Mavaro's placement in the base set or character add-on pack on this.

Yeah, that bard deck...I am most of the way through Wrath with RebelSong and Cartmanbeck, and have to say - this deck shouldn't be used. I enjoy playing the character I'm playing (Lem) - he is great at support. But there are just so many limitations in this deck: few combat spells that aren't Electricity and Poison (pretty much had to go Tent Preacher - the healing spells were at least halfway decent), very few ranged weapons, and pretty lackluster allies. The first seven class decks definitely need something to bring them up to the level of quality of the later decks - and they need it so bad that I'm not sure sticking Mavaro with the bard deck would be a great "reward."

The funny thing is, I almost posted something about waiting for Calthaer to chime in with a comment just like this.
EDIT: Also, the bard deck is notoriously short on items, and an occultist with no items just seems wrong.

They added an updated picture of the character add-on deck!
Ahmotep seeems to be the human woman to the right, so that takes care of her race.

I'm having a GREAT time with Lem in SotRi as an Arcane Tinkerer. But I agree, the Bard deck would not be a great choice. Weapons are sparse, and spells are split Arcane/Divine/Both. Most characters will be looking for one or the other.
If Mavaro is primarily ranged/Divine, Inquisitor is an excellent choice. If he's more melee/Divine, perhaps Paladin or Cleric would be better.

For those of you more versed in the multitude of Paizo products, is that Ahmotep or Channa Ti artwork from somewhere or is it new art? I've found Drelm from a blog post.

The only other picture of channa ti I could find online is this one .
This post of the creator of channa ti seems quite interesting, since according to the author, she did not seem to have any artwork in her original publication.EDIT: Actually, the first comment of the linked article links the picture I linked above to deviant art user butterfrog, so the illustration of channa ti on the add-on box seems to be new and the only existing official art. I updated the link to respect copyright.
(By the way, I hope these links don't go against the forum guidelines.)
And since no one knew about amotheps race in the first place, I guess she doesn't appear in any publication so far.
