I am trying to subscribe to the ACG starting with the new core set but no matter what I try the checkout procedure wants to start with the previous product (Ultimate Wilderness). I click on the button for the core set in the shopping cart but it resets to the Wilderness pack when I go to place my order. Is it possible to start with the new core set?
To give us all a bit of a break from rules minutiae, I thought I'd ask: what party are you forming to go through Mummy's Mask? Are you using only characters from the box, or are you also using class deck characters, or characters from another box set?
I usually play solo with three characters until I get a chance to get a group to catch up (one group has been on Skull & Shackles for a good 2+ years). I considered two sets: either Ezren (or Mavaro), Yoon, and Drelm, or a combo of Channa Ti, Simoun, and Amhotep. I went with the latter and haven't regretted it - loads of skills covered (Craft, Divine, Survival, Disable, Ranged, Perception, Melee, Arcane, and Diplomacy), and the fact that none of them are iconics is a big plus.
Estra seemed only situationally useful. Zadim looked OK but Amhotep won out because I needed some INT. Various versions of Ezren, Alahazra, and Damiel have been discussed to death on these boards and so I wasn't eager to play them. Drelm and Mavaro both look really interesting, but I figured I'd save one or the other for when I'm in a group - Mavaro especially seems like he requires enough attention to play that he perhaps wouldn't be best for me in a solo game with multiple characters.

The scenario Closing the Worldwound does not have enough henchmen listed. It has Favored of Deskari, Gimcrack, Blackfire Adepts. It seems to read that we should use multiple adepts to fill out the locations but there was only one in the base set. Was that a misprint? Which henchmen should we use if we have more than four locations?
Yes it is tough. If you get hit by it you might roll low or have armors which could block the damage. If not it is a hand wipe. I don't mind really hard banes every now and then.
We played it today. She showed up late in the game and Enora had to fight her. We hadn't closed Heaven but we did defeat four of the henchmen. With blessings and spending all her mythic charges, Enora was able to win the encounter and we decided to end the scenario since we had encountered a lot of the cards.

I was a member (playing Valeros) of the champion team "On the Dot". We named ourselves that when in the opening round we rolled exactly what we needed to pass several checks.
Big thanks to Tanis and the gang for running this event. It was a great event and I look forward to playing in it next year.
All three scenarios were fun and intense. Merisiel died in the first round but we scored enough bonus points to make the semi-finals. We completed the scenario on the last turn by temporarily closing two locations and killing the villain in the third.
The second scenario was my favorite. A neat change of pace. It was designed to be unwinnable, you just had to acquire as many [redacted] as possible. This one ended on time for us. I think we could have gotten a few more [redacted] if we had more time.
The final scenario started off easy for us since we closed two locations really early. Then we had a lot of trouble at the other locations and as time was about to run out closed the second to last location. The other team made the same amount of progress but gave in to [redacted] so we out scored them to take the victory.
Something is wrong with your tournament settings... You could buy tickets for the final event?? Ooh, yeah let us skip the the quarter and semi final and just buy a finale ticket right away ;-)))))

We played this one today and lost badly. Our party is Oloch, Damiel, Jirelle, and Lirianne. We encountered the villain twice. Nearly closed the Fog Bank before the game ended. We will try again next week. I think you need to close one location so you don't lose blessings off the blessings deck every time you encounter Pilk.
Our party of four (alchemist, swashbuckler, gunslinger, war priest) completed the intro adventure yesterday. We won the final scenario on the last possible turn. We encountered the Pirate Council twice early in the scenario, losing the first time, defeating them the second time. We closed two locations. When we closed the third one we found the council again leaving that location open. Damiel went to that location on his last turn. While the others successfully closed the other three locations he used his potion of Glibness to conclude a successful negotiation with the council to win the scenario.
I like how this set is more challenging that RotR. In the last scenario Jirelle was down to zero cards in her deck while on Shark Island. A fortunate heal kept her away from death and she was able to defeat the shark twice during her stay on the island.

It doesn't get banished if you lack the divine or arcane skill so it is great for Merisiel and Sajan since they can carry spells but don't have those skills.
In our game Seoni's first encounter Underneath Sandpoint was with the Iron Golem. That was seven cards into the discard pile. The rest of us were amused. Thankfully she was healed by good Father Zantus and Lini.
It is an interesting scenario. It is strange though that the villain is not in any of the locations and can't be encountered yet the villain card has text that would only be used during an encounter.
You add cards from each adventure when you begin that adventure. The Rise of the Runlords adventure path card in the base game has instructions on removing cards.
