Also Snapper Carr barely rates as an annoyance on my bad-ness scale.
As for what Alex did...meh. She's never been one to be subtle.
So he just a 'annoyance' I mean he is old reporter from a time where the media did not so obviously try to tell us what to think. The modern liberal of course looks at him as a minor annoyance of somebody who does not 'get it'.
As for what Alex did...but you still get the irony of it right. The President gives these people the full rights of citizenship...and in the same episode a hero comes by and tramples them...
Anyway I am more curious of the ramifications of giving all aliens citizenship. I mean the agency has how many aliens locked up without ever seeing a judge? I wonder if the show is going to touch on that at all.

Apparently, my local CW finally decided to air last week's Supergirl this Sunday past. I see I didn't really miss much. My only problems were....
How did Mon-El learn English?
Oh yeah - Linda Carter, still a hottie.
As for this week's episode...
I loved Martian Manhunter discussing more of Martian culture, especially the mind sharing stuff.
I seriously hope they aren't going to have killed off all the other Daxamites as well. Although I imagine Mon-El's signal will eventually be answered, so they can have some bad guys capable of providing a challenge to Superman/Supergirl.
I liked the name drop of War World.

I dunno about the Daxamite angle, but I hope the Warworld name drop leads to the baddest of them all aliens: Mongol! Barring that Despero would be a good addition.
As for Roulette herself, eh. I kept seeing some of Dichen Lachman performance as more of her being a less caring Jiaing from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
As for how Mon learned English? My best guess is some kind of Tamaranean translator thingie... Maybe.
I am glad for one thing they kept: Miss Martian IS a White Martian. :)

I however am more than happy not to see her go "Hello Meagan!". It was great for Young Justice, not so appropriate for this venue.
Young Justice... that would be a series I would have loved to see more of, but I understand the lack of economic incentive for continuing it. At least it got closure.

Drahliana Moonrunner |

Drah,
You might be surprised. There's still the rumor floating around that Netflix MIGHT give it another season.
But yes No Hello Megan was good too.
Netflix is the ONLY way it could get another season due to the lack of marketing potential. I think Young Justice was meant for the teen set which failed to watch it entirely, and finds most of it's audience in a demographic totally untargeted and unwanted by the cable network.

Drahliana Moonrunner |

No I think the reason Young Justice failed was what one of the creators, a certain Bruce Timmins said. "The network execs wanted to sell more toys."
Now with Netflix, they just want people to watch the show.
Like I said in it's original venue Young Justice was pulled because it wasn't a show that was going to sell toys to the kiddies.
Netflix's audience however is different which is why Arrestd Development got two further seasons on it after being canned by the network.

The Daxamites played a major role in the Dominators' Invasion! of Earth in the comics; the Dominators are the Big Bads for the four-way crossover this season; and we've been told that the TV plot will be very faithful to the comic.

I guess that means we'll be seeing Thanagarians, Khunds, Durlans, etc.

They were also used as mind-controlled super powered thugs of Darkseid. His first act was to have them carve up Daxxam itself into planet sized bust of himself.

Which was a lame excuse. They DID make toys for Young Justice... they just SUCKED compared to all the other superhero toys on the market at the time.
If the toys had been a more compatible size with all the 4" lines out there, and had decent articulation... I'd have bought a bunch of them. But they were crap so I passed.

Anyone else getting tired of all the aliens? Adding J'onn was awesome... but kind of diminished Supergirl a bit. Clark was amazing... but now???
We finally get done with the Krytonian prison ship (which I thought was a terrible idea)... and now it seems like every episode is adding in new powerful aliens... More martians, alien fight clubs, alien bars...
It's really taking me out of the story of the 'last girl of krypton' when everyone you meet is 'the last something of somewhere'...
I loved the metallo episodes but, it's starting to remind me of everything I DIDN'T like about Angel.

phantom1592 |

Phantom,
You mean demon overload only now with actual space aliens?
Dunno about tired but I think once the Dominators show up, we'll see some shake ups that might help make this season go smoother.
Yeah pretty much. All those big scary demons just hanging out karaoke bars and around the office like it was Deep Space 9...
Part of it may be the aliens they are using... I used to be a huge GLcorps fan, and I just really don't recognize any of these aliens... except apparently every one of them can kick supergirls butt...

Dal Selpher |

The shift from there-were-5-non-kryptonian-aliens-in-the-city-last-year to there now being well established fight clubs and bars in National City has been jarring for me too.
The implied they've-always-been-here-you-just-didn't-notice also doesn't hold much water for me.
And, as I think on it, it's more the scale that I find so grating. It's the same problem I had with Grimm over on NBC: by season 3 it seemed like everybody in Portland was a freaking Wessen.
This many aliens concentrated in National City shakes my willing suspension of disbelief a little too much.

Unless the aliens were all raised on Earth like Superman, their presence should have been revealed during the whole 'Earthling mind control' plot line at the end of last season. They'd have been the people on the street who DIDN'T suddenly freeze in place and then start forming up into lines for their new work assignments.

The lots of Aliens issue doesn't bother me too much...I figured aliens in general were probably lieing low before Myriad even went into effect, given that they would have probably been somewhat more aware of Non and Astrid having major plans.
Right now I am most annoyed at the fact that they are turning Jimmy Olson into a superhero. The CW shows seems to have severe issues in balancing multiple superheroes. Arrow has improved this season largely from mostly making him go alone and relegating his new team to sidekick status

No we got the Daxamite instead.
Also if Superman had been around in Arrowverse, I'd say he could have disabled MOST of those missiles. Or at least stopped more than 50% of them.

Meh.
At first I thought the robbers might be intergang. Sadly, it was just Cadmus. Again. Decades of stories and villains, and it seems each of these CW DC shows has to have 80-90% of a season's run feature the big bad in some way. It shows a lack of creativity.
Oh joy - the evil leader of Cadmus appears to be another EVIL Luthor. Which will, of course, inevitably lead to a rift in the friendship of Kara/Lena when it's discovered.
But I did like seeing Winn help save the day. That little dude has really grown on me. I'm glad they stuck him in the DEO. With his character background, it's really where he belongs.
And nobody noticed Mon-El take a blast to the chest and not get hurt? How f+&%ing stupid are these people supposed to be?

Thomas Seitz |

Aber,
Regarding "Mike" I think most everyone was still kind of momentarily stunned by the fact there was an explosion. Maybe. But I do agree people might have wonder why he was still breathing.
I'm not convinced Mama Luthor and Lena aren't some how in cahoots. I do get that it might upset Lena to turn bad...but I'm not convinced she's not hip deep into what CADMUS is doing.
As for Jimmy playing hero...maybe that bank robbery had a kind of PTSD effect/traumatic effect, especially with his dad's camera getting destroyed. I mean I know it's BS but...it's all I got.
I do agree, they should have used Intergang...but consider that might mean more Darkseid than CADMUS.
Winn has certainly grown since season 1. I hope it continues.

Meh.
** spoiler omitted **
If Jimmy's going that route, he needs to become a giant turtle man, grow quills, develop stretching powers, etc. like the hapless comic book version, who has had dozens of super-powers over the years.

EXACTLY! There's so much alien tech and other weird shit flying around, how hard would it be for them to give us the Turtle?!?
I WANT MY TURTLE-OLSEN!!!!

MMCJawa |

I am actually glad Cadmus was responsible for the weapons. I like the idea of shows having big bads, and I thought last season was too inconsistent in that regard. They tried to have Astrid and Non as the big bads, but far too many episodes went by with Supergirl dealing with practically everyone else, which degraded the threat of Non.
Also I don't think Lena knows anything about Cadmus, and doesn't seem to get along well with her mom. I don't think (and I sincerely hope) they have Lena involved. While I am sure there will be some Lena-Kara drama on the show, the character is actually a mostly good person in the comics, and making her evil would undermine what they have done with that character this season, and make her come across as discount Lex
Also...yeah totally not caring for the Jimmy Olson superhero bit. It just doesn't seem to naturally follow from last season, and it just comes off as super juvenile. As working head of a major news conglomeration, Jimmy can do far more good at his job there than going after some thugs with a baseball bat. So to have Jimmy complain about not making a difference just seems petty.
Also...I have to say Mon El was amazing this ep. I look forward to more hapless frat-boy from another planet shenanigans in the future.

I expect there will actually be the occasional Legion easter egg/member on the show. I just don't expect it to be anything remotely like Legion Version n (pick one).
Montoya referred to her division as the 'Science Police' in the last episode, which was good for a smile from an old Legion fan like me.
