Yeah, I know, I've been lazy here. Had my nieces and nephews over for the weekend, which exhausted me, plus I've been working on my PbP character, so I only really popped a comment in here or there haldheartedly. That's no excuse to ignore my own thread, though.
Apparently I made my iced tea waaaaay too strong for them. All four took a sip (which I put a LOT of sugar in, cause they're kids, they love sweetness, and they're not my kids, so I don't have to pay the dental bills), and immediately tossed the leftovers. My wife took a sip and was like "what did you do, four bags per cup or something?!"
...I liked it. It got me seriously buzzed, which I needed to deal with them. Four kids. Four!! I don't have one kid of my own, and I haven't taught for like five years, so it was...intense.

I just finished a cup of—you guessed it—sencha. Although I have cut back severely on my sencha consumption and started drinking more chocolate, bailey and orange tea ever since I found out I'm running out. Speaking of which, let's mix some nice coconut and chocolate tea together and have a cup of that.

Your negligence of your own thread has forced me to put this here, and it's been so long you wouldn't believe the sticks I've had to travel to find it, well it wasn't that hard but I can't handle much!
Pinocchio (Neutral Evil Wyrwood Rogue, eventual multi-class into Assassin) crafted by the mad wizard toy maker archmage Gepetto, well you get the rest :-)

Eh, my lack of activity is pretty much just a reaction to a lack of activity from others, both here on this thread and in the ones I've been regularly commenting on.
Plus it's so f***ing hot I don't even have the energy to type most days. Our A/C is broken, and the repair guys don't come until tomorrow, and it's been almost a week of some of the worst sticky humid heat in years. I've experienced higher temps, but the humidity - it's like I stepped out of a shower everywhere. Even my wife - who has slept comfortably in Jamaica (admittedly during spring, not summer, but it was still Jamaica for crying out loud) without the A/C turned on - is suffering.
...why is Pinocchio evil? Why doesn't he have a cricket familiar? No. No you lose captain.
Ugh. I'm actually glad to go to work for once, if only to sit in A/C for a few hours.
I pledge my vote to put in office any supervillain type that plans to block the sun over Florida in a Monty Burns style bid for money. Or hero who will dome and air condition the state from June to August.

I had some Tea once, it was radioactive, got it off a super mutant, guess that should've been my first clue....
Well, in that universe, it was also probably laced with FEV, so odds are you've got some useful extra appendages or immunity to cold or some such thing.
Watch out for Cazadores!

To be honest I've been so busy rampaging I almost forgot their was a plot :-)
Also Fallout 3 GOY edition is alls I know
New Vegas uses the same basic engine, but has a lot of improvements. I highly recommend it. To me it was in the top five games I've ever played on any system.
Part 1&2 are enjoyable, but classic third person and the graphics are pretty dated. If you can get over that it's a great time investment.

I'll most definitely get New Vegas when it hits the bargain shelf, I proudly got both Skyrim and Fallout 3 for 20 bucks (I actually don't care for Skyrim)
Fallout 3 however gets me :-)
My buddy got New Vegas and all the DLC (exceptional content and additions) for ten bucks.

The New Vegas Ultimate Edition is $20 at its regular price. You just missed the Steam Summer Sale (which ended yesterday) where it was $10.

So intense!
/doublerainbowAlso, the other day I had a... very unusual form of "red tea" - it was sweet tea from Moe's (kind of 'meh', but better than their 'tastes like everything else in this machine 'cause it's the mix anything from the same spout machine' coke) accidentally (by my wife) mixed with some fruit punch.
It sure was quite red.
(The second batch, after I'd drunk 3/4 of the first one and refilled with just sweet tea, was not only a better mix, but quite delicious, unlike the cardboard-y first cup. It was also quite red.)
EDIT:
Honest Teas makes a damn fine lemonade.
That's tangentially tea related, right?
Yes. Look at the name.
Daggum, typing this much hurts. :I

~notices this thread for the first time~
My favorite tea is Jasmine Tea I used to get from a Chinese Shop... unfortunately they have been shut down for health code violations and I am not sure if this American made Jasmine Green Tea is the same stuff and I have been afraid to try it for fear of being disappointed.
I also love Chai Tea... but not all the varieties are good.
And if nothing else I drink regular green tea since it is as generic a tea as I like.
I can't stand lipton...

T-Minus ten hours and fifteen minutes (and a few seconds) until I have been married for seven years.
T-Minus zero until it has been seven years since I had the roughest, most anxiety filled sleep of my life. I still couldn't believe she said yes, even after she did.
We celebrated today, and she told me to keep my regularly scheduled Pathfinder game going tomorrow, and she actually meant it without playing stupid, "well, yeah I said that, but you should have realized," stereotype games. That's why I put a ring on that.
That and the body.
I said this in another thread, but it bears repeating - the body.

I'm more a coffee guy, but I'm actually branching out and trying loose leaf tea. I picked up two ounces each of an English Breakfast and Nilgiri from a local tea shop in town. The English is for hot tea, while the Nilgiri is for iced. I made up the Nilgiri last night - making the lemon-mint simple syrup for the iced tea is on the schedule for either tonight or tomorrow.
This merchant also had a blood orange tea that smelled very citrusy, and would probably be good both iced and hot.

English Breakfast Report: Tasty. Not nearly as assertive as coffee, but definitely hitting a completely different profile of flavors. It's almost a bit smoky, which is nice. Made it in a rather cheap french press, which worked beautifully. I'll probably visit that tea shop again after I work through this batch, because this was quite lovely.

Oh, they do. Irish was definitely a much more in-your-face experience, but I figured it was a bit too forward for a first foray. I may pick that up in the future. I didn't count how many teas they had to choose from, but it was a lot.
And yeah, I know tea doesn't have as much caffeine as coffee. However, from what I've learned, there are chemicals within the tea itself that bond with the caffeine molecule and slowly release the caffeine into the bloodstream. So, while the high you get from tea isn't as high as coffee's, tea's high will stay with you longer. Better living through legal chemistry!

It took me about a week just to read through this thread!
(Many laughs)
Unfortunately, my current tea is a gallon pitcher of suntea made with grocery-store brand tea bags. Makes even lipton look good, but I'm making myself finish the box before I get anything better. Any recommendations for something reasonably cheap to make big jugs of suntea with?

Bigelow is sold at BJ's for pretty cheap.

Iced tea report: it came out cloudy. Not sure why it did that at all, especially since it was clear (well, as clear as tea gets) when I put it in the fridge. Anyway, it tasted like unsweetened tea, and I had to add maybe an eighth of a cup of syrup to take the edge off to my glass. That's about an ounce of sugar water. Unfortunately, the lemon-mint syrup was more like lemon-MINT syrup. Probably need to dial in on that next time. Any ideas on how the tea could have gone cloudy in two days? It tasted just fine, so I'm pretty sure it wasn't spoiled or anything.
Also, I've been having some stomach pain and nausea after drinking my tea without breakfast. This also seems strange, as I wouldn't peg tea as something that would causing gastric issues. Any thoughts on that?
Finally, I'm about out of the English breakfast after making three pots of the stuff over the last three days. Any recommendations on what I should go for next?

Caffeine on an empty stomach always makes me feel full for about an hour and then sick and hungry hardcore after that. Maybe that's why?
Are you using filtered water for your tea? Could be minerals and crap in your tap water. I know if I pour a glass of tap and let it settle I can come back later and see crud settle on the bottom.
Green tea is supposed to be good for digestion, although I believe all I know is anecdotal evidence rather than scientific studies. Ginger most assuredly IS good for digestion, though, and makes a great additive to tea...I like it in both black and green, but especially black.
I think Irish Breakfast Tea is awesome, and a great step from English, as they're quite similar. You mentioned it's a bit too in your face though....red tea has no caffeine, if it's the caffeine that is irritating your stomach, and more antioxidants than even green, reportedly.

Yeah, I figured it was less to do with the tea and more to do with the empty stomach. I occasionally have the same thing happen to me with coffee, though not usually as fast. No idea why.
I used filtered for about half of it, and had to grab the rest from the tap. I'll try using 100% filtered on my next batch.
As for IBT being too "in-your-face," well...I thought English was going to be stronger, and as someone who drinks their coffee black, I'm pretty sure I can handle IBT. I'll just have to make sure that I've had a snack before I start drinking it.

Mint tea, i.e. a mixture of 2/3rds gunpowder green tea and 1/3rd Moroccan mint (if you can get it, although spearmint would probably do as well) is very nice. A book I read on the Northwest Frontier Province also said that the Pathans add cardamom to their green tea and use that as an after-dinner drink. I tried it and wasn't particularly taken with it, but others may feel differently.

True that, Captain. I make a mean spiced angel food cake that I call "chai cake," that uses a scant eighth of a teaspoon of freshly ground clove across the entirety of a cake. (For those of you across the pond, that's a TINY amount.) If I dared use any more, you wouldn't be able to taste the other two spices (mace and allspice), even though the recipe uses twice the amount of each of those!
Still, when I drink chai, I prefer a strongly spiced version. When I managed the cafe at my Borders, we had a spiced chai which was head and shoulders above the regular stuff. It was definitely strong with the clove.
Finished my English Breakfast today, and the iced tea is almost gone. Looks like I'll be getting more soon!
