It's Wednesday Night; do you know where your gatherers are?

Pathfinder Online

It's been a week since the Blackwood Glade fiasco. A variety of events have resulted in a respite from banditry.

This is time we've all had to digest last week's banditry as well as Ryan's 2/26/15 advice to banditry victims.

You've all been working on your social cohesion strategies, right?

You've all read the PFO-University forum thread named Mobile Nodes: How to avoid becoming one, right?

When a gatherer sees forum famous bandits they will immediately run away while getting on the batphone to call for help, right?

Everyone is ready to drop what they're doing at any time and rush to aid their friends and allies in trouble, right?

Alternatively, you have hired muscle to respond, right?

I'd ask if you've all tried to pay tribute in exchange for safety, but I already know that you haven't. I consider that... most unfortunate. Hopefully you've done enough of the other things I listed above to make up for that.

Good luck and may the odds ever be in your favor.

With all of Golgotha off the mountain looking for mobile nodes, it is a perfect time to stock up on Copper Ore tax free. You know I'll be there :)

I can't promise you any of Golgotha off the mountain, but thanks for the imaginary success of my unplanned coup. :-)

I can't even promise my own personal banditry; a couple of days last week I couldn't even boot my gaming computer to windows, and even when I *am* on I am always happily at the beck and call of Benevolent Dictator if he has tasks for me that supersede my previous plans.

Consider the O.P. a checklist of where everyone should be at regardless of what happens tonight.

So is Wednesday Nights Golgotha's Harvester around Up Night?

I personally am looking at Tuesday nights (Green Hat Tuesdays) for Aragon based companies.

If you are looking at Wednesdays that would be two nights a weeks were we can influence the River Kingdom's gatherers to be more wary.

As Mr. Deltoid tells Alex in A Clockwork Orange... "you're about due by my reckoning."

That's the main reason for the timing and title of my post. By my reckoning, banditry is about due and I'm reminding the community to remember last week's lessons in case anyone is thinking...

"What we were after now was the old surprise visit. That was a real kick and good for laughs and lashings of the old ultraviolent."

I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to attack Tyncale. Isn't he Northern Coalition? Besides, I've never hunted anyone for their foruming.

Probably.

Especially since the O.P. is only an attempt to ready people for the inevitable.

Goblin Squad Member

What settlement is Tyncale from? I thought EL, which is not NC

Goblin Squad Member

The hell is going on in here.

I thought Callambea. But I'm no expert. Emerald Lodge gets a lot of leeway from me, too, though.

Frankly, I like his posts.

Of course I know where my gatherers are on wednesday nights:
on Golarion mumble, listening to dev Keepsite Chat at 8PM EST.

And if they are anywhere else, I'm surely not going to reveal it in this thread.

(huh? hijacking threads? me?)

A very worthy hijacking. The O.P. approves.

Something to listen to as people help Emerald Lodge with their bonedancer problem, perhaps.

(If Golgotha can't raise the dead yet, no one else should be allowed).

Grand Lodge Goblin Squad Member

Tyncale as far as I can tell is Callambea.

Or do I need to check applications to us. He surely would be welcome.

Everyone digs him.

Goblin Squad Member

I dig you too, Savage. Sometimes there's just a little too much Savage going on. :)

I am indeed Callambea. Unfortunately we are struggling with members, which has led to us not being able to hold towers and me not being able to learn level 9 craft skills(and loosing my level 4 bow-skills). I am hanging in there though. However I will have to look deep into my Merchant conscience if this is because I am loyal to the Empire of Xeilias, or because I have 11 Crafter and Refiner Alts there, each with about 500 units worth of Encumbrance in the Bank, that I can impossibly move to another location. :D

Just the fact that I am considering such a huge act of opportunistic treason is the game working as intended though, and a nice testament to the game's mechanics.

The vision of a long line of heavily encumbered crafters leaving Callambea for greener pastures, loaded with their treasures, must make you wild, Savage. :)

The members of Stoneroot Glade would be happy to welcome you and help you move your stuff to Alderwag (It's only six hexes away...). Especially if it means you stop trying to take our towers....

Goblin Squad Member

They're not your towers unless you can keep them.

Especially if they're nowhere near your settlement and would obviously be natural territory of someone else.

I'm sure Ozem's Vigil and Forgeholm would be happy to help you move over to Guardheim :)

Goblin Squad Member

Cal! I was just about to say the same! About Stoneroot Glade taking *our* towers, that is. :) The towers in those mountains are like 3 hexes away from us, while they are like 10 hexes away from Stoneroot.

But, "you have what you hold" and we could not hold what we had, so I am losing this one. :)

Thanks for the offer though. But will stay in Callambea. The skill-loss is annoying but I think our location is fantastic and there are still a few good (euro) folks playing so. I have grown attached to the mountains and I almost consider the Moloch Cultists as close friends, so long have they been haunting our grounds.

Exactly! Which is why I said trying to take our towers....

And nowhere near is a pretty relative thing, depending where we spend most of our time, some of the Stoneroot folk live closer to those towers than Callambea does. Or even exactly the same distance, and following the same path to get there....

a) Most of my non-consensual PvP is territorial, close to home, and meant to chase off competing gatherers and poachers; their loot is secondary to chasing them away. My 2 nights of far-flung banditry for the sake of banditry were not *personally* lucrative, at all.

b) Raw resources aren't exciting loot, though it is wise to deny the opposition's access to them. Now if you're moving recipes/spells/maneuvers that's exciting stuff for a bandit, but I have so much of that stuff already, it might just wind up being duplicates of what I have.

c) If I know they are your crafters that might take all the fun out of it, even if they were allowable targets.

I was jesting!

Hehe, good to know, Savage. Will you believe that I still run like crazy when I am anywhere near Golgotha? Can't expect you guys to know the names of all my alts..... and as long as we can not easily see the company affiliations....

I am wondering, I have gathered copper in the few mountainhexes very near Thornkeep, in the point there. Does Golgotha consider those hexes their territory too? Any chance of bumping into you there?

Goblin Squad Member

Wednesday night is the night we all gather in Rotter's Hole and exchange recipes and crafted items, starting around 7 PM Eastern until about 11. It's perfectly safe since no one ever goes there, especially Golgathans? Golgothians? Golgothanites? Whatever!

Just be in Teamspeak and you'll hear someone ask "Does anyone know who Crafter Craig is?" (with a long pause for response) and then chime in that it is you. Having your character name in your TS nickname helps, too.

Otherwise, with no one chiming in after a sufficient pause the rest of the channel says in unison... "sounds like a dead man".

I'll let an officer answer about which hexes are "territory", but I tend to think of the whole plateau, as well as certain other hexes nearby, as territory. But you're N.C. so I might even help you carry your copper home. ;-)

It's a tarp.

Goblin Squad Member

It's definitely a tarp. The three groups of the Highroad alliance never meet in Rotter's hole to trade. It's not even really dead centre between the three groups, that would be a spot in the wilds about half a hex east of Rotter's Hole.

No but I know where my favorite Golgathans will be :)

Cal, you've gone and done it now. Now everyone knows that we load up with recipes and t2 mats to trade at the hex east of Rotters Hole. You have ruined it, blast you.
Attention High-road alliance, new meeting place. Go to hex 4N/20W, we will meet at the regular time near the place were you find the secret mushrooms bordering the hex where you find the Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

And THAT Sir, is EXACTLY why you should enlist the help of yours truly for all your moving and transport needs!

Goblin Squad Member

Haha, is that why you are hanging around the Callambea bank, Grip? :)
I am staying in Callambea though. Thanks for offering, Grip.

It's a green tarp too with pink stripes!

So sad no one new showed up for our meeting. Didn't get to trade anything new this week. Maybe next week. ;-)

I should have my tailor up to the point where I can make lots more tarps by then!
