Adventure ideas for a party of 7

Advice

Greetings fellow gamers,

As the title suggests, I am in a bit of a pickle. I was running a 5e updated version of Age of Worms when some of my other friends asked to join in my game as well. I agreed, knowing the consequences of doing so. I am going to be finishing the first module this coming weekend, and I was hoping to start working on fresh material before the next session.

I was thinking the group takes its treasure and starts their own small adventure company, aka adventurers for hire, but I would love some "contract" ideas. The world in which they play is fairly open, so anything goes as long as it works for a group of seven players. The group will be level 3 when everyone joins in.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Carry on, fellow adventurers.

P.S I am trying to avoid a war-based campaign (at least for now), only because my group prefers the open-world feel of adventuring. They also are not combat-focused group of gamers, so rp situations would also be neat.

Silver Crusade

The Brotherhood without Banners

If you're gonna go big, draw inspiration from the Song of Ice and Fire series. The BwB is a neat group with both combat and non combat possibilities.

I'd suggest getting all seven of them together and make up their characters, pick an area they want to adventure in, and making up their characters with some intersting backstories. then as GM figure out how you can write a story to start bringing all those backstories together.

If they are RPers, then the story is so much more interesting when your not retrieving a long lost family heirloom from a dungeon for some random rich nobleman. instead you are retrieving this item that provides proof that your family/clan was robbed of their noble status a hundred years ago and after you guys delve this dungeon it spring boards into you having to garner favor from the local noblemans to overthrow the bastards who robbed your family of their heritage!

stuff like that is way more compelling than pimping yourself out the highest bidder.

Scarab Sages

Require your players all be Dwarves and/or Samurai.

This sounds like something I could build off of. There is a tyrannical prince in the world I have built that they could oppose his army advance on Free City and its territories. Definitely something to shoot for at higher levels. At their current level, I'm thinking odd quests/contracts, aka monster-hunters for hire.

I love the "hidden base" aspect. For your group, every time they go out on a contract, their base of operations moves, and they have to find their way back home.

While tempting, the party has already been decided on for a while, and the group has a compelling story so far. And while noble heritage would be neat, the start of this campaign would not fit that in for any of the party. I am expecting a vengeance driven adventure from the elf, a war against drow invaders to the dwarf party members' homeland (R.A. Salvatore <3), and exploration of the awesome world that is Greyhawk.
