I got there about 1/2 hour early and there were already a lot of people there. At the bidding of Approximate Sin I got the stack started (that's me 2nd from bottom, Asha was at the bottom but I don't think he knew much about it.)
I had one crash on death during the battle, Not sure if it was my pc or something else, but it did happen the moment I died. I had no problem logging back in to the hex.
The client/server seemed to deal well with collisions as we were all running around the bank. No lag. Also no lag when we all accessed the bank or the armorsmith.
The battle was fun, red vs blue, 8 vs 8. Again, no lag. Kenton Stone might have wondered what was hitting him. I took advantage of LoS not being active to stand in a compound and knock him down with my bow :)
Thanks to Cheatle for organising, TEO for supplies (I tried to find bankbot afterwards to hand over some goods in return) and Approximate Sin for keeping us amused with competitions and prizes.

I was very surprised to find that I wasn't laggy at all. No disconnects. No falling through the sky.
Can EE be far away now?
They released a patch, then no patch notes. My guess is that the patch is an EE candidate but they didn't to get us all riled up until after they saw how our tests worked out.
My bet: They are meeting and having a serious heart-to-heart about it all now. We'll get patch notes today or tomorrow and a statement on whether the 48 hour clock is starting along with them.

Did you try headstacking to put snipers on the rooftops before the pvp?
I actually tried rooftop-sniping once when I accidently relogged on top of the building in front of which I had logged out. Not very effective, as the downward distance is apparently counted as range, too, so you can basically only snipe people standing very close to your building.

Sniping THROUGH buildings and other terrain on the other hand seems to work well.
