The dumb sorcerer. Because they are dumb, they're likely to focus on a predictable, flashy, elemental type of magic, like fireballs and scorching rays, and resist energy isn't too hard to come by.
But someone who's cunning can always hire people with the skills they may not have themselves.
You (as in real-world you) are transported to Golarion with nothing but the clothes on your back and anything currently in your pockets (though you now speak Taldane, and retain any meta-knowledge you possess of the game world). Would you rather appear in the Mwangi Expanse, the Worldwound, Belkzen, or Kaer Maga?
(If we can't do four, then 'the Mwangi Expanse' and 'Kaer Maga'.)

Kaer Maga. Absolutely. Sure, it's a dangerous place, but compared to the alternatives, it's a summer breeze. Plus, it's not all that far to Korvosa, or, preferably, Magnimar.
Have a Kaiju transported from Golarion to Earth, or have a pretty gorram big nuke transported from Earth to Golarion, and either way, you end up in the world that was the recipient (with the stuff you need for basic survival in Golarion, such as language)?

The nuke to Golarion. That way I'd have the ability to hand it over to good people (step 1: find moderate-powered cleric of <insert good god here>, step 2: request plane shift of "impossibly dangerous thing" to said god's preferred locale), and none of my friends, family or world gets needlessly destroyed.
Sure, I'll have to start all over as a level 2 commoner with a strength of 7, a constitution to match, and a dexterity that's even worse (and probably, like, a 14 intelligence and/or charisma maybe? Certainly not a great wisdom, I'll tell you that much), but it'll be worth it, 'cause the people I love will be safe.
Would you rather go on an adventure to rescue a prince/ss <choose> or to rescue a baby? Presume you get to "keep"* what you rescue, or not**, at your option.
* Not in the manner that would start a board-fight.
** Also, not in the manner that would start a board-fight.
EDIT: Also, two things - one, thanks, Sissyl! I can find this thread more easily again with the new favorited post! :D And, in the scenario I mention above, it would be slightly irrelevant as to what my stats are... I have Paizo "Message Board" power knowledge! I will be [i]rolling in wealth and magic and power beyond my wildest dreams (should I wish to do so) within a few weeks, tops. >:D

Save the princess! Slay the dragon! Save the day! Get rich quick! But give her right back to the king in exchange for a laboratory!
If you had to pick one class to have in real life, what would it be? (I could have phrased it as a would you rather but I didn't want to type out twenty something classes)

Wizard. Easier to get through TSA than alchemist. I'm smart, but none too wise, and only moderately charismatic, so the choices were limited. Plus I like to read...although I have to admit I'd get annoyed reading the same thing for an hour every day, even if I just read the damn thing the day before.
Make that arcanist. Quick study FTW.
Martial wasn't even on the table. Who the @#$/ turns down magic if given the option to have it for reals?
If granted nigh unstoppable power in our real world, perhaps equivalent to a 20th level character with 10 mythic tiers, when you inevitably grew bored and/or greedy and begun your unstoppable quest for power, would you begin with or finish with your home nation?

A little of column A, a little of column B...
I'd probably go with:
1) My home region exclusively
2) My former home regions, and a few important cultural ones
3) The Gulf
4) Hawaii
5) Antarctica
6) the Moon
7) Mars and Venus
8) Japan
9) Ancestral regions
10) Religious regions (though leaving Israel itself the heck alone)
11) Africa
12) Asia (though staying out of any land-wars)
13) Australia
14) South America
15) Central America
16) Anything else missing (besides North America)
17) North America
Mine would be a purposefully slow and political rise to power, focusing on persuasion, diplomacy, and conversion, rather than war and destruction (though I would destroy any who harmed "my" people with great vengeance).
... if I was a villain, of course. Not that I've put thought into this sort of thing before or anything.
>.>
<.<
whew, they bought it!
Would you rather have all of the mythic templates plus two mythic abilities of your choice, or 10 mythic tiers in a single path? Why?
(Real life or game, your option.)
John Kretzer |
the Myhtic tiers in a single path...they are just better.
Okay lets just suppose you were a bad boy/or girl...and got condemned to the Abyss...what demon would you eventually want to become?
Same situation but you get condemned to Hell....what devil would you want to become?
(Yeah I know that breaks the rules but I always thought of them more as guidelines anyway ;) )
thegreenteagamer |
a) Succubus or maybe (if it exists) Kelmvezu (from the MM2 in 3rd). Maaaaaayyyyybe a glabrezu.
b) Pit fiend. Thanks for playing, bye-bye.
Would you rather be a bard, sorcerer, or summoner in real life? Why?
Sorcerer. Only one that gets Wish.
And I'd make it work. I would use charm person to get a fleet of lawyers to draw up a set of iron clad contracts covering every possible negative interpretation imaginable for my wishes before I state them aloud. Oh yes. I would even use the simulacrum snow cone wish machine, and yeah....
I'd probably make the world a lot better place for everyone.
Mostly for me, but I would be a benevolent super power!
Even if you meant low level, the result is the same. You can do some amazing stuff with mage hand in Vegas, and bards can't silent spell.
I like this "real world Pathfinder" turn of questions. I will add to them.
If every core from Pathfinder started to pop up in our universe, kind of how they were born into new generations in Shadowrun, would you want to become one, or remain human? Which? Why?
Personally, I don't care, as long as my wife becomes an elf. Don't tell me you never wanted to bang an elf. I sure have, but my own wife as an elf? Sexiness incarnate.
The Doomkitten |
Well, that depends. I would probably hide it, brood a lot, and have good character development rather than just use it at every opportunity for pwrgaming and LOLmunchkin purposes.
Hmmmm... Would you rather have the Doctor get stuck on Golarion and have the TARDIS locked out of all time travel capabilities (but still have space travel capabilities. However, you can't travel to any other planet); or play as the Star Trek: TOS team stuck on Golarion?
Goddity |
Twilight. You could kill them for that book series. Even thought they probably didn't have anything to do with it.
Would you rather
Play in an intense PvP game
with a bunch of super geniuses who are smarter than you
or
play it with a bunch of idiots who have problems understanding basic math, the rules, common sense, your feelings, hygiene and other stuff.

PvP. You had me until you mentioned hygiene. I hate stinky gamers. God awful walking stereotype making the rest of us look bad, and ruining EVERY convention I ever went to!
And if you're a stinky gamer reading this, F*** you. I disdain you even if I never met you. Showering takes five minutes. Soap is cheap. Wash rags are reusable. YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE AND SHOULD FEEL SHAME! Not shame for your smell, but shame for your laziness to not keep up basic hygiene. Bathing is NOT an option if you're going anywhere public.
Sorry. Stinky people get on my last nerve. It's phenomenally disrespectful to offend other's senses with your funk when running water and soap are available, and if you can't afford that, get some priorities and stop gaming and spend your time fixing that issue.
Would you rather be the one villain in an otherwise good party, or the one hero in an otherwise evil party? This is assuming a) there's a perfectly valid in-character explanation for your cooperation as a group and b) everyone at the table is okay with it ooc and mature enough to handle the dichotomy without problems.

A half gnome, because I would easily be able to say that my character lived on a rift to the first world and absorbed some of its primal energies. Bam, half gnome sorcerer.
Would you rather read all of the pages of the Infinite Spellbook (you know, the one that drives you completely bonkers and has a chance of triggering a massive disaster) or fight in the Last Great Time War?

4d6, because I’d rather be above average than average the way I’d want to be average.
Would you rather be the subject of an unhealthy infatuation by Her Infernal Majestrix, Queen Abrogail II of the Thrice Damned House of Thrune, or Sorshen, Runelord of Lust?
Abrogail hands down, no need to ponder.
Abrogail is a fine lookin lady, still alive, and pretty much as lawful as they come.
Sorshen was also pretty bangin, but she's dead, and chaotic evil to boot.
I'd much rather have an evil lady who keeps her promises treat me like a man toy, as I'm more likely to walk away from the situation without a broken heart.
And I mean that literally, not at all figuratively. I mean I'm more likely to walk away with a functioning cardiovascular system.
Which true dragon would you most want as a friend that, regardless of his alignment and disposition to everyone else, trusts you as a staunch ally, for whatever reason (even if it wouldn't make sense like with a red...I don't know maybe he thinks you're his adorable pet?)
That's technically a would you rather...There's just ten choices. More if you count imperials or primal...
icehawk333 |
Black. If he trusts me, I may be able to make a decent person out of him, and his prespective and cunning could help deal with other problems that arrive.
Would you rather be Polymorphed into a tiny lizard and back to human at random (say, a 5% chance every 10 minutes) ar just be Polymorphed into a medium lizard with vocal cords (non-magical otherwise.)
SinBlade06 |

Both have their allure, but I'd go with the stable crafter. At least the townsfolk won't hate me!
A Point of Reference. A good book about a girl with this condition goes by the name "Mango Shaped Space" very good book. Worth the read.
Would you rather taste or see sound?
The Alkenstarian |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
I'd rather taste it.
I'm fairly sure seeing it would lead to some absolutely mythic-level migraines. Besides, I've already found out what orange tastes like. It tastes like Iron Bru. And I'm not talking about the fruit, but the -colour- orange, mind you.
It wasn't a nice experience but I'm sure burgundy is more to my liking ... pun intended.
Would you rather play a good aligned character in an otherwise all-evil party, or an evil-aligned character in an otherwise all-good aligned one?
Tacticslion |
Oh, my bad. Sorry, I didn't realize :)
Well, let's try a different question then.
Would you rather have your character die in a truly epic, mindnumbingly glorious way, or survive and beat the end-boss by exploiting loopholes in the rules?
The latter. (Almost) Every time. In-character and out-of-.
It's a kind of mindnumbingly glorious way in its own regard.
----
Would you rather go to a caffeine-free game with excellent food, or a lame-snack-laden game with caffeinated beverage of your choice, made to taste?
Incidentally - found this thread again! Huzzah!
Trigger Loaded |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Former. Though this isn't a hard question for me, as I tend to avoid sodas, and I hate energy drinks.
NINJA EDIT: Tricky, but I'm leaning towards office monkey. I have experience working in dreary dead-end jobs. Not so much being hunted and running for my life. Or my soul. Also feels like what would be required to advance wouldn't be QUITE as horrifying.
Would you rather own a D20 used by Gary Gygax himself, or a D20 that dates back to Roman times? (Seriously, they've found such things. Look it up.)
The Doomkitten |
Gary Gygax. I am currently working on a time travel machine to clone his DNA and create Gygaxville.
Would you, as somebody's character, have your player be a munchkin min-maxer who absolutely breaks the game, turns you into a murderhobo, and gives no backstory whatsoever; or be played by an amazing roleplayer who has absolutely no sense of mechanics?

Neither...I am my own person and not some puppet for your amusement. Though If I had to choose I rather the second as than I'll be a actual person and not a stack of numbers.
Would you rather be the only Role-Player in a group of hack n' slashers or be the only hack n' slasher in a group of Role-Players?
Tacticslion |
Either way - both could be really fun!
(Incidentally, this answer does fall within the parameters of the OP's post...)
Would you rather play as one of these guys, or in an entire game against them. (Related: why?)
Goddity |
I don't think the point of this thread was to get us to test your home-brew ideas. But oh well...
Against. Because they sound kind of, well, creepy and it might be more fun that the usual orcs/kobolds/skeletons/goblins. (Oddly, those 4 seem to make up the majority of most low level opponents)
Would you rather play in a table top roleplaying game (DnD or pathfinder type) or a table top war game (Warhammer type)?
thegreenteagamer |
Tabletop RPG. Do I look like I'm made of money? You don't know me, but no, I don't. Any game that rewards spending more money with more power blatantly is stupid. It's why I refuse to plag MtG or any CCGs, and why I'm not at all interested in war games.
In an in-person game, would you rather play with really stinky players who refuse to listen to reason and shower before the game or Munchkins, and I mean exactly as bad as you imagine? (I think you can guess my preference by my rant up thread.)
SinBlade06 |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Of the two, if the stinky players are good roleplayers instead of rollplayers, I'd go with them. Munchkins all just want to enjoy their breaking of game rules by redefining and then rebreaking them again.
Would you rather:
Play a game with great writing, unique challenges, but very little reward
OR
Play another cookie cutter adventure with a much bigger reward
Optional: Why?
The Alkenstarian |
Play a game with great writing, unique challenges and very little reward.
Why?
Because I create my own fun, and I like character driven RP. Cool toys are a bonus, but that's all they really are ... gravy.
Would you rather live a year eating nothing but donuts or a year drinking nothing but coca-cola?
SinBlade06 |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
I'll take the coke over the donuts. My dentist is gonna hate me though...
Would you rather:
See only the bad things in the future and not be able to change a thing with your newfound power,
OR
See only the good things in the future and know that any action you take can and will change those good things?
