Super Strength

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

I was wondering what the highest possible carrying capacity in this game could be. I don't mean just high strength, as I'm sure there are many ways of increasing only carrying capacity.
I'll post more in this topic later, as I just wanted to leave this topic here.

Hm... I seem to recall this discussed before, but I don't recall the consensus.

Off the top of my head: masterwork backpack, ant haul, and cybernetic arms.

Also, depending on what you mean, there's lighten object as a kind of "work around".

Also, quadrupeds, and increases in size.

Sovereign Court

Muleback cords of course do help with strength 8 higher for carrying capacity only.

there are probably some stuffs in mythic but would need to read them in details.

Toss it all and get a portable hole. It has no weight limit, only a size limit.

Depends... are you counting ACTUAL weight or theoretical weight? Because with a permenancied shrink item you can run around with a 1000 lbs statue without much issue...

Hmmmm. The Highest I've gotten to was 33280 lbs. But that character was mythic. Some sort of Alchemist/Barbarian could probably get the highest.

Don't forget size increases!

Expansion, at level 7, increases two size categories. At level 9, it can do so for 10 min/level

Synthesist will get up up to Huge with high Strength a level 13. (A Vitalist cohort for the Sytnhesist with Expanded Knowledge(Expansion) could get the Synthesist up to Colossal)

Human Cross blooded Abyssal/ Elemental Bloodrager

11,059,200 Heavy Load
55,296,000 Push or Drag

(73) for carrying capacity

Str 37 (62)
Dex 18 (16)
Con 18 (22)
Int 13
Wis 16
Cha 19

Traits
Muscle of the Society trait

Power Attack
Skill Focus (survival)
Eldritch Heritage (Orc)
Improved Eldritch Heritage (Orc)
Raging Vitality

Equipment
+5 Courageous Furious Greatsword
Masterwork backpack
Muleback cords

Buffs
Potion of ant haul
Elemental Body 4

Base Carrying Capacity for 73:
614400 = 600 * 4 * 4 * 4 * 4 * 4

Huge Size
3686400 = 6 * 614400
Ant Haul
11,059,200 = 3 * 3686400

Hey, man,

Painful.

I are t3h sadfaces. :(

(But good specifics of information! Thanks!) ;D

[ooce]EDIT: In case it wasn't clear, I'm not actually "t3h sadfaces". :)[/ooc]

Good catch on the cybernetic arms, I missed those. Haven't read up on those rules yet, so that would double work with my ant haul as a x4 to bring it to

Heavy load
14,745,600 = 4 * 3686400

Drag or Push
73,728,000 = 14745600 * 5

So heavy load is just under 7400 tons.

Aw... no need for that, 'round here. :D

1 person marked this as a favorite.

This reminds me of the old 3.5 Hulking Hurler... Maximizing carrying capacity to deal absolutely insane damage, smashing planets and the like.

Just remembered regular alchemist wouldn't increase strength, but a 1 level dip into ragechemist would push the equivalent strength up to 75, giving me a heavy load of 19,660,800 lbs and a drag weight of 98,304,000.

If Ant Haul increases carrying capacity by x3 and cybernetics by x2, why is it a x4 total?

It works like combining lance charge and crits.

X3 adds 2 more dice to original. The x2 adds 1 more additional dice. For a total of x4

We can probably raise that higher.

Angelkin Aasimar (+6 racial via Blood of Angels table) Crossblood Rager Abyssal/Draconic Bloodrager/Ragechemist Alchemist 2/Dragon Disciple 2

This gives a buffed strength score of 80, with that giving us a 1,433,600 max load.

If you add on Muleback Cords, a Mwk Backpack, a potion of Ant Haul and Cybernetic Arms, you get to multiply that by another x16.

This reaches a glorious max load of: 22,937,600 lbs. (453.59 metric tons).

I already did mulebacks, masterwork, ant haul, and cybernetics.

I already put +2 from racial in there, so that is a wash as well. I don't know where you got +6 from, its only a +2. If you lose the elemental body for form of the dragon 2, your strength bonus from size will drop by 2, not to mention you will be large instead of huge, so you will only gain a x3 instead of x6 to carrying capacity.

However it is a good catch that I can indeed drop 2 more levels from blood rager for +2 to strength.

So thats 77 Strength, at x4 for magic and tech and x6 for size.

Heavy Load: 25,559,040
Drag/Push: 127,795,200

The +6 came from the Pathfinder Player Companion: Blood of Angels. But if we're looking for a more consistent bonus, we can certainly go with Orc for +4, or we can go normal +2.

This results in effective 87(+2 racial) or 89(+4 racial) Strength, counting the backpack and Muleback cords.

So with that buffs we get the Orc having (89 STR): 137,625,600 max load, with Drag at 688,128,000.

However, with the regular version you get (87 STR): 102,236,160 max load, with Drag at 511,180,800.

As I said, muleback and backpack have already been counted.

I have a problem with muleback cords & ant haul--they seem to be basically the same thing. I don't think they should stack.

They do stack. They're different sources doing different things, one being a temporary bonus.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Muleback Cords "treats his Strength score as 8 higher than normal".
Heavyload Belt "permanent ant haul spell".
Ant Haul "The target's carrying capacity triples".

Muleback Cords are +8 strength.
Any Haul is 3x capacity.
Heavyload Belt is not temporary.

You too can be Nodwick.
