I'm carful about who I offer beer to these days. There are many people who don't drink.
That being said, of course I told him that any time my garage door is open he's welcome to stop by and partake of the contents of the beer fridge.
Ancient chinese proverb "A neighbor who does not drink is for the most part a quiet neighbor"

I too have that policy with the caveat that I am present. I hate working all day in the yard and then head over to the fridge all excited about having my 22 oz bottle of 90 minute IPA only to find it gone...Damn you evil neighbor.

Got a letter from the HOA of my subdivision. Apparently I was in violation of a policy stating garbage cans have to be stored out of sight, except on trash days.
I sent them a letter back stating the situation had been remedied, but that I expected them to promptly send me a copy of the rules, just so I know what to avoid breaking in the future.
We were supposed of get a copy of said rules when we closed, but that's nowhere to be found. Neither the wife nor I remember ever seeing them. And the letter makes it sound like new homeowners not getting them has been an issue.

At the same time, there are some good things about them. It's a good way to organize big neighborhood events, like garage sales. And they work to maintain the public areas. And to make sure someone's house doesn't become an eyesore and f*@+ up property values.
Like any other position of authority, however, you hear horror stories about the abuse to property owners for no other reason that seeming power hungry busybodies.

I'm thinking it might be a good day to head over to Lowe's and do some real life research into a new grill. I've already done a bit of research on a consumer search website, and I know Lowe's carries the one the website rated as best. So I want to see it in person and get a good handle on it's size, etc.
