Oh i know what i need. I have played D&D before and in particular 3.5. It is the pathfinder specific stuff that can trip me up sometimes, especially Pathfinder society and the adventure paths

In character I made the check out of character it is from experience- Fire Horse Attacks Dog Attacks- Goblins
Soft singing on a distant wind...Harpies

Akinra does a good job reading the box text and making it feel detailed and that our senses are appealed to, being visualized is cool but I made the first perception check "on Cue" to "hear" something walking on the cave floor, the GM said my Human eyes....I was like whateves.

The other games had Spot and Listen seperate for creative Dancing lights players, Scent is rarely used but it helps to fight invisible foes. About level 4 Fly...you'll see a pattern.

You can still Auto Ash if he is gone Ability Damage needs restoration or days or weeks of rest, so if you get jammed up you have to keep it tracked on your chronicle sheet.

Ability Score Damage, Penalty, and Drain
Diseases, poisons, spells, and other abilities can all deal
damage directly to your ability scores. This damage does
not actually reduce an ability, but it does apply a penalty
to
the skills and statistics that are based on that ability.
For every 2 points of damage you take to a single ability,
apply a –1 penalty to skills and statistics listed with the
relevant ability. If the amount of ability damage you have
taken equals or exceeds your ability score, you immediately
fall unconscious until the damage is less than your ability
score. The only exception to this is your Constitution score.
If the damage to your Constitution is equal to or greater
than your Constitution score, you die. Unless otherwise
noted, damage to your ability scores is healed at the rate
of 1 per day to each ability score that has been damaged.
Ability damage can be healed through the use of spells,
such as lesser restoration.
Some spells and abilities cause you to take an ability
penalty for a limited amount of time. While in effect, these
penalties function just like ability damage, but they cannot
cause you to fall unconscious or die. In essence, penalties
cannot decrease your ability score to less than 1.
Strength: Damage to your Strength score causes you to
take penalties on Strength-based skill checks, melee
attack
rolls, and weapon damage rolls (if they rely on Strength).
The penalty also applies to your Combat Maneuver Bonus
(if you are Small or larger) and your Combat Maneuver
Defense.
Dexterity: Damage to your Dexterity score causes you
to take penalties on Dexterity-based skill checks, ranged
attack rolls, initiative checks, and Ref lex saving throws.
The penalty also applies to your Armor Class, your Combat
Maneuver Bonus (if you are Tiny or smaller), and to your
Combat Maneuver Defense.
Constitution: Damage to your Constitution score causes
you to take penalties on your Fortitude saving throws.
In addition, multiply your total Hit Dice by this penalty
and subtract that amount from your current and total hit
points. Lost hit points are restored when the damage to
your Constitution is healed.
Intelligence: Damage to your Intelligence score causes
you to take penalties on Intelligence-based skill checks. This
penalty also applies to any spell DCs based on Intelligence.
Wisdom: Damage to your Wisdom score causes you to
take penalties on Wisdom-based skill checks and Will
saving throws. This penalty also applies to any spell DCs
based on Wisdom.
Charisma: Damage to your Charisma score causes you
to take penalties on Charisma-based skill checks. This
penalty also applies to any spell DCs based off Charisma
and the DC to resist your channeled energy.
Ability Drain: Ability drain actually reduces the relevant
ability score. Modify all skills and statistics related to that
ability. This might cause you to lose skill points, hit points,
and other bonuses. Ability drain can be healed through
the use of spells such as restoration.

I know everyone is coming on now but I might go to sleep it's hlf past midnight here and it's been a rough day...

Please run my dude Cor- or anyone.

To round this area out, I wanted to stand behind Ash and heal him if he gets hit.

I'd camp to take Bless, Remove Fear, Remove Fear.

Bless

paladin 1

on the caster
Duration 1 min./level
Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance yes (harmless)
Bless fills your allies with courage. Each ally gains a +1 morale
bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects.
Bless counters and dispels bane.

Remove Fear (2-Times)
School abjuration; Level bard 1, cleric 1
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S
Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)

against fear effects for 10 minutes. If the subject is under the
influence of a fear effect when receiving the spell, that effect is
suppressed for the duration of the spell.
Remove fear counters and dispels cause fear.

Averting Eyes: The opponent avoids looking at the creature’s face, instead looking at its body, watching its shadow, tracking it in a reflective surface, etc. Each round, the opponent has a 50% chance to avoid having to make a saving throw against the gaze attack. The creature with the gaze attack, however, gains concealment against that opponent.

If we can get free clubs and maybe do the long spear squeeze prep: Take tree branches at this camp to make crude broken conditioned long spears- sharpened sticks? (Sharpened 10' Sticks at best) protect Cor by forming Voltron so when it provokes one AO goes off Cor takes his readied action to fight. If it moves back and forth, or if held in a doorway. We can fight it without leaving the Wizard exposed.

Dedicated Dawn Prayer Update

"I'd go Bless, Remove Fear, Sanctuary"- This is better I'll call this as my at dawn prayed for selection.

@Everyone ---You might want to consider your "rerolls" for the fear effects, if you missed the Gaze.

I'm thinking Bless gives every one a fear buff and attack rolls, Removing Cors fear if he doesn't save is paramount, and for a squeeze touching him for Sanctuary, but I don't know What a Cleric's DC is?

10+spell level+ability mod?

DC 14?

Here's where the long spear would have helped, Gunslingers are basically fighters I can cast the spell and step back, Ash can shoot and step back now Cor has the gaps to step in, We only need the Elf Shield one time, Shield of Faith or Protection from evil gives you AC.

After Ash gets one shot off we wait for it...

Say the creature is at 10 Init squeezing.

Ash gets FF Touch

If Cor gets 23 -- X gets 20-- Ralph gets 16--- Ash gets 9-- and I get 1-

We should Delay/WITH BOW READY?-- Delay , ready an action to use whatever (Dancing Lights Bard-ary?

Let the ghoul attack Ash, Free Action Redeem Opportunity "Don't be evil."

Ash shoots steps back for shot #2 and maybe uses his reroll if needed. I cast Heal if he was hit or dropped or Shield of faith if they stack if not Guidance.

Delays go and Cor gets his sword wet if Ash did damage, X wins the day- Ralph vote me leader.

If no damage was done and the creature hit, we should stay in Shield formation with Ash drawing his sword and not moving until he does hit.

THE AIM OF THE SHEILD IS A DISEASE FREE ZONE. We know the creature has more than 6 hit points+5 hit points= 11 but less than thirty of the fire damage X or Ralph did. If you can not do 11 Hit points max we should stay in the shield, I can cure Ash...he can Solo it!!!!

OK Break!!! If not The Elf Shield is wasted.

Will somebody give me Mike Brock's email so that I can copyright the Elf-Shield, it's no Dancing Lights, but it's 100% me. And to give X credit, when used in combination called by Raplh it was able to thawrt two sneak attacks the Cave Fisher and this thing's.

I'm afrad to try to look at the map, if I get booted again I'll scream outloud.

Ash has his long sword and he should fight defensively while he uses two hands with it for more damage.

Ralph could grease the area in front of Ash to make it prone.

If Ash gets hit, I'll heal him, if he does not get hit, I'll cast guidance on him. His AC will be at 20.

With the Acoustics of the cave we all suddenly sing Misty Mountain (From the Hobbit)

A creature with a gaze attack can actively gaze as an attack action by choosing a target within range. That opponent must attempt a saving throw but can try to avoid this as described above. Thus, it is possible for an opponent to save against a creature’s gaze twice during the same round, once before the opponent’s action and once during the creature’s turn.

I'm keen to rest after this battle. Kyra and I need to replenish spells. I can use my bonded item to cast endure elements, and we have 1 scroll, so we have 2 endure elements spells to tide us over to the end of the next day. I can prepare one casting of it for the next day, so essentially only one of us will have to brave the night without endure elements. If we can find wood for a fire, even that may not be an issue.

Could we all huddle together naked for warmth?

And as a cook I can use the Cave Fisher fat harvested as a protective salve and a tasty breakfast high in Fiber and packed with delicious Cavey flavor. "Cavey Crisps" the Breakfast of Champion Pathfinders".

We can also perform a Sun ritual that that will make it both a flammable accelerant and a formidable alcholic spirit about 120 proof. Malatov Cocktails anyone? We can get the Yeti tipsy.

Don't forget to loot the bodies , using Detect Magic in the area.

I'm sure the Ghoul had a Wallet or a Rolex? Unless he was a "DeadBeat Dad" LOL..get it DeadBeat?....that was the best one yet.

I recommend Ash, since he has a fort save of +4, and if he borrows the cloak from Cor, he's on +5 on any potential fort save. If we can find fuel, Exiel can make a fire easily which should mean a much lower DC(unless there are enough enemies in here that he needs to burn -hur hur- all his remaining burning hands spells).

Kyra, since you are online, wanna roll initiative?

If the creature beats our initiative. I will heal Ash if needed AC should be 18 with protection from evil.

Then Ash draws his sword and fights defensively with an AC 20.

Using Ash as a paralysis-immune tank is a sound idea...except I'm not sure we should be using that knowledge without having the GM tell us that through knowledge religion checks. It's called 'meta-gaming' and is frowned upon at a lot of tables. I'm personally not too fussed, but Akinra might not like it as a GM.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

If we are resting, I think we can leave this to Ash and Exiel, since we can comfortably assume Exiel will be happy to burn his spells.

Assuming Exiel also beats the ghoul's initiative, Ash delays till just after Exiel. Exiel moves in front of where Ash is and casts burning hands. This has a fair chance of 1-shotting the ghoul. If it does not, Ash moves in front of Exiel (directly in front of the ghoul) and does a full defence. Ghoul attacks Ash's AC of 22, Exiel delays till after Ash, Ash withdraws behind Exiel, and Exiel casts burning hands again.

Even if the ghoul passes both reflex saves, it is not likely to survive all that fire damage. Meanwhile, Cor and I can take pot shots, and you can stand-by to heal.

Paralysis (1d4+1 rounds, DC 13, elves are

With the how the check works Jazz I'd still need the GM to define a Ghoul as a common monster example set Goblin.

For common
monsters, such as goblins, the DC of this check equals
5 + the monster’s CR. For particularly rare monsters,
such as the tarrasque, the DC of this check equals 15 +
the monster’s CR, or more. A successful check allows
you to remember a bit of useful information about
that monster. For every 5 points by which your check
result exceeds the DC, you recall another piece of useful
information.

If she said yes I'd get it's exact hit points, why, becuase I am unable to channel, if not at the very least I can get the Elf Shield idea, I played as a piece of Wisdom both Cor and myself heard as children but I remembered "Ghoul-Elf-Cool"...I think it's original, I've never heard that used before, but Zombie slash Skelly smash I heard from a guy named Matt.

You are right no one ever said the hit points so I just calculated my damage, 6 first hit, 5 second it...it must of had more, but the Burning hands never narrowed it, it was plus "ALOT".

Grand Lodge

Female Human [|]Cleric of Sarenrae | HP:12 | AC: 17/ FF 14/ T 13 | Fort: +4 Will: +5 Ref: +3 | Perception: +3 | Init: +3 [|]

It was Cor who said "We do not know what these things are for sure?"

I used Yeti-Spawn, Averting my eyes and Yeti tainted stench, just for flavor.

The DM could have said, "Yeti-taint...not quite it's actually quite hard to place all of the undead foul fragrances, but unfrightened, this is (pause......it's over here now....)for -certain--- Ghoul Flavored Mayhem!- without a doubt!"- but only I talk like that.

I love playing with new guys becuase I'm honest, I have a lot of information in my head, so I lose people's names and can't even think about not writing a phone number or email down. I don't think I'm being ignored, I just am electronically verbose, I just don't think every bit of information I write matters, so I'm playing that she hasn't the time to address my attention needs every post. It's ok for you to think I was Meta gaming, but that is pretty strong for new people to hear, I was giving generalities and skill uses, I don't have to Meta game, in fact playing this part without channels, was soley my decision. (I didn't forget that I had a wand of cure light wounds with 50 charges)

I played it like she ignored it like when I was knocked into the pit, I didn't and still don't care, but when you guys say I needed to make a religion check and you see it (page 4), you are still telling me calling me a Meta gamer was not a little extreme? Defend him, but it doesn't matter. We are winning, your comments have merit, I get it. When is it ever going to be let's work as a Team- TOGETHER-EVERYONE-ACHIEVES-MORE? I was just trying to give Ash his moment to shine, I want him to continue to play with us. No one is hogging the spotlight, this game is unique huh X?

Why would this Author ambush the heck out of the party like this? Mountain Lion, Cave Fisher, Ghoul, Second Ghoul, I'm sure it's a theme.

Side note: Any ideas for Fortune -Tellers, not for this party but I want to use my raw instincts as a design idea. Witch-Cleric-Oracle? I wonder like the Clash of the titans how a Coven/Hermit would play? Any Bard ideas about reading bones and a harrowing deck, Sleight of hand and swindlers like in the Matrix one Inqusition has random accidents, I can spoke people about "Don't worry about breaking that vase....then it breaks...I'll find the name.

I see the religion check, Kyra, but the point is that the GM did not tell us "your knowledge check lets you know __________ about this monster". In either case, he said he wasn't too fussed and neither am I, really. He was just pointing out that some GMs don't like it, and he did say that with that knowledge, the idea of using Ash as front-man was a good plan.

Anyway, I don't think a re-roll is necessary at this point. If we're resting after this fight, we will regain most of our daily resources, so we can spam what we have left. Save the once-per-session reroll for something a little more crucial.

@X I'm unconventional, I don't sqounder (spelling?) resources too much, but that's why I deferred to both of your better judgements on "Another Players'" Life or Death changing reroll. Against the gaze attack would be better like medusa, no matter what it does, I think flee from the area.

Which reminds me, should I take Cause Fear? If it has less that 4HD it runs away right? Can we one shot it like Color Spray by fighting fear with fear, for 1d4 rounds? I'm afraid it would territorily just comeback.

I guess I'm not as patient as "I" need to be so, if that was my character I would use it (the reroll) then to end the fight.

I tried to use the rerolls for Kyra in our "minute one"- but I thought 15 was good on Ralph's shrine Faction Mission, and I missed the reflex save to be squashed.

I did not know Ralph was packin' +11, so logically we probably met when he was My Adjuct Professor-Ghouls 101, and he probably taught my Sunday School if we all were to have ever met somewhere.LOL

I called Bless as we enter the Temple area, I would touch all for Guidance and resistence(I was mispelling this probably the whole game but I'm not spell checking any of the next games- you guys know I can't type by now and I'll get booted if I check the map or have too many... (pictures of pretty ladies up?)...I'll go with that. I figured Remove Fear in case Cor is going to run back to the cave fisher's lair.

The last call Sanctuary was a tough one, it slightly beat out spiritual weapon. Only becuase it only lasts for one round , if my DC is Will save 14 (Please help define that for sure)then Sanctuary that can be transferred keep Cor unattckable with a 70% chance of success right?

I could have went Hard-Bard "Bane" and in the cold Create water after a day or three of waiting works like Double Grease with Ralph's "cool"-laboration. Wow creatively Cool and artically Cool, and the pun about the word that means working together, There must be an Art to comedy play by post, I like the comedian stuff, with revisiting the past ...Dancing Lights...but it is away for me to try to make you guys smile. (Like what the heck is this player going to type next?)

We won if we just have one more fight left. I think the weather will fatigue one of us. Our rolls have been on fire. I have "emotional dice" I only roll high if I absolutely need to and I'm angry..."Hulk-You wouldn't like me when I'm angry,I only get so when the people I'm supposed to protect or put in danger, like being a commander in a war, a teacher on a fieldtrip, a husband defending his wife at the mall, that's me and Cor. I couldn't bond with you for a first impression, so I just played it like I'll still feed you so that the more food in our mouths the less we argue. Did you see my weight roll? I think X and I argue constantly and I am at 185 now, leaving my port city at about 135. LOL I'll play it like a bear or Seal, penguin...I needed more insulation for this mission. Akinra was nice to give me the average, I rolled super like does my butt look ... in this chainshirt - high.

I hope to team with you guys for as long as I can, years is fine with me. I have just fought situations straight up, but I'm thinking the terrain like a door can be used for an advantage, I call chopping down a tree and crafting makeshift longspears (even at -4) having a reach weapon is my final brainchild, next game with you guys rebuilding, you will be so strong I'll just be more subserviant. I hope Ash continues so badly, like a class reunion, I want to virtually see you guys in 20 years.

Do you or Akinra have a post pattern, I say one AP that demanded one post per day and no fighting amoungst players. The once a day part would make me tap out man. I was hoping we autoed up until the Yeti and it was like...and now X uses Dancing Lights and rolls initiative...(sigh).

What's your take on mounts man? What is the strongest build over all at level 2? I really want to beat game three-with you guys- I was Ezren the 4th level Wizard and I owned it.

I'm not particularly certain WHAT my mission (grand lodge) actually wants!?!? These shrines are certainly of interest i think? I would have been making a map noting the locations of the shrines, ambush points (Cave fisher lair), or any other oddities we encounter.

I could use clarification on this mission if able.

I've had missions too where I've wondered 'wtf does the PFS want me to do, really?' Sometimes it becomes more apparent as the session progresses/when the mission comes up. As it is, (I peeked at your mission) it looks like you either have to find a map or make a map. Pray it is the former...but if so, I'm GUESSING it would probably be at the monastery, in some sort of library. Either that, or you will be asked to make a craft:cartography check at the end to make a map of the places we visited in the adventure.

I think mine requires something from the monastery. Trade agreements or something like that.

Well, we can clear out the temple and do a take 20 search. My policy is that when you can take 20 on a mission, do so. Perception checks to find stuff fit the bill most often.

Thus it came to pass the kyra was in fact, eaten by the ghoul...

Good luck and take care!

So... no healing? What spells do the casters have :)

I have infernal healing. It gives fast healing 1 for 1 minute. It doesn't heal as quickly, but I can fill in for healing that way. When we rest, I will adjust my spell selection to accomodate.

Also, I guess I'll take responsibility for seconding Ash then. Akinra, we need to speed this along though, before more schedule conflicts cost us another player.

Is that journal what the grand lodge is looking for?

A PbP generally takes 3-4 weeks, we are at about 70% in 1 week. As much as I like games, I like having a license to practice law even more, so I cannot speed up until after the weekend. I would like to finish this by Friday, just because I have a heavy caseload beginning the following Monday.

Boots:

The wearer of these boots is able to travel across snow at her normal speed, leaving no tracks. Additionally, the boots enable her to travel at normal speed across the slipperiest ice (horizontal surfaces only, not vertical or sharply slanted ones) without falling or slipping.

Finally, boots of the winterlands warm the wearer, as if she were affected by an endure elements spell.

I'm thinking we do this with pitons rather then spider climb for the time being. I think we have the time and can save the scroll.
